Yeah, the offseason job JB did created a much deeper roster and all your points I agree with: too much individual play to create offense and no real plan when attacking; atleast, on a positive note the D & goaltending are performing.
Green will be on JB to acquire another core player cause with Green it is always about personnel rather than his system - instead of making a system adjustment he continues to experiment with the line blending strategy.
A coach from the outside may seem like an SOB but players are buying into his system ? Would rather have a coach who is more concern about the on ice product rather than how he looks in Camera.
At the very least, I hope Green would stop the line blender and give the players some time to build some chemistry with each other. The only constant in the forward group are Pearson and Horvat with someone else.
Tanking in this city is frown upon cause it has the stigma of a losing culture ? Just look at last year when they were fighting hard for the loser points; and with hindsight, it made sense to get those loser points cause JB had no intention of keeping it anyways.
Good points.
Right after all the offsesson moves - i was still very skeptical if the staff would know what to do with this roster; but JB wanted to see if Green can deliver by giving him a deeper roster - so far, he hasn't.
Yeah, I did notice his tone and it didn't inspire confidence that he is looking beyond his contract. The energy (even in the stadium) is not a positive energy ?
Good question, perhaps look for an internal solution - Shaw; then start doing a search externally. If they want to find someone they will.
Try a change cause the on ice product is a reflection of everything that happens in the background.
