  1. Myers should had sat and kept the Bones & Burr pairing.
  2. I stated deployment, which means ice time for the most part.
  3. With Greens' tendency to have favorites, those players will not see the ice - hence, have no trade value; and good on JB, for moving on from them in pre season - so they can at the very least, have a good chance with some other club. Just look at the difference in deployment between Bones & Podz. Once a player is in the no good side of Green, it will always be an uphill battle.
  4. Good point - Nurse played the locker room politics very well but he did have a few good years leading up to the contract - probably extra motivated to get paid. Not sure if he will live up to the contract but that albatross is on the Spoilers books. Good on his agent cause he got more than HEISKANEN; who imo, is a better all around defenceman
  5. Very convincing argument; and I don't blame Berg cause these next few drafts will have some high end talent at the top. He had his chance, at a top 3 pick and he picked a dud (imo) - Jesper K. This year he will have two first round picks and if he picks in the top 3 with one of them - then this would be the cheapest way to acquire a franchise player: IF HE DOES HIS JOB (?).
  6. Right now, he seems to be just going with the flow and doing just enough to get along with Green & friends. Being an insider, he is probably just waiting for the tap on his shoulder.
  7. Yeah, he is looking good and playing motivated playing with McD.
  8. As a bias fan and based on what I've seen watching him - Garland. Great job by JB, fingers crossed that it works out long term.
  9. Imo; and just like Markstrom he was playing for that big contract. Just like Calgary, SJ payed alot for past productions. The trade was a sided deal for Ottawa (karma got them later with the Colorado trade): picks & cap space; and I understand why SJ did it cause they had a core that had a very good chance of winning the cup.
  10. Now I have an idea as to what happens in the - Green House.
  11. Anybody knows Aquamas' or Bennings' number ? Kidding aside - it would really be nice to see this roster with a new staff.
  12. Simply put - great fit in Vegas and not in Vancouver. So far, he seems to be doing well in Winnipeg
  13. Yup - buy in or get shipped to Siberia. Kidding aside, in time he will disclose the reason for leaving the Canucks.
  14. Yeah, PoHO should had been the first thing but this is Aquamans' team and he chose to trust JB and his decision to re sign Green.
  15. With the busy offseason, Benning basically gave Green a new roster and a second chance with a deeper roster. Really hoping the staff & players irons out any issues and lives up to some of the offseason hype - fingers crossed and GCG !
  16. That was the plan last year, that led to this aggressive offseason - be patient cause it is still early. Sure, Covid was happening & the schedule in the beginning was brutal but every team eventually went through a similar stretch of games and Covid affected everything. My main point, the team watches film everyday and surely by know they would have an idea what adjsutments are needed on a game by game basis and they've know most of these players for more than a year now - surely, they would know how to motivate these millionaires (?). I understand where your coming from and so far (including the pre season), something ain't right with the team and some of our star players. If by some miracle, the team goes on a winning streak then we can conclude that all this is just a team trying to find chemistry due to all the off season moves and this is the right staff for this roster.
  17. And if this turns out to be a down season for those players ? Shouldn't the staff make some adjsutments to compensate - good chance, they have an idea on what is going on ?
  18. Well said; and I did notice that about Trotzs' win/loss stat: except for the first few years of a sub .500 record, there was still a gradual improvement year by year. Plus, a coach that doesn't depend too much on personnel - will perhaps not be forcing the GMs' hand to constantly be making roster changes; which in the long run affects locker room chemistry on & off the ice. A coach despite his resume, that is accountable to himself and those around him would probably be a good character trait to start with. It seems that Greens best days as a coach is somewhere else (?).
