  1. He was given the maintenance day cause the staff knows that he has been playing alot.
  2. Battle of the expansion cousins - GCG ! Will the Sabres be fighting for another lottery win ?
  3. That would be a yakathon with alot of offtopic conversations and I agree.
  4. The doing part comes later - when perhaps Hughes gets overplayed to the point of injury (hope not) ? After years of the same deployment with a different roster, I was hoping for a more balance approach this season cause there is now enough depth in the lineup to run four lines and prevent any injuries that might occur due to overplaying the player. Anyways - nothing new; and hopefully, Rathbone & Burroughs will continue to solidify the third pairing despite the deployment & structure.
  5. A good change of pace from (fan favorite) Creech. Cheech just needs to get better and hopefully by then Hirsch would had left a good impression with the fans.
  6. It seems to be a VISA issue (same with Gadj), so the teams had put them as non roster players.
  7. For now, the third pairing with Rathbone needs a cheap low event player and (for now) Burroughs fits the bill.
  8. First choice, would be Juice or how about one of Taylor or Dhali ? What is going on with Cheech?
  9. The conversation off the ice will matter, to squelch any misunderstanding that might come up.
  10. For this game this context is relevant. Overall and still early, hopefully, as he plays more games he will increase his performance level as well. Let keep the undefeated streak going - GCG !
  11. Good take but he needs to realize that the last 5 mins is Demmer time - he needs to be the closer to close these games out.
  12. I agree: that shortening the bench do have major disadvantages: a less engaged roster (especially, from the bottom 6) and the minute eaters will be prone to making a mistake (due to fatigue) at a crucial time of the game. As fans, we had seen this scenario play out season after season; and after the major roster tweaking this offseason the team seems to be built with more depth that Green can role all the lines consistently. Imo, the inability to protect a lead or close out games reflects on Greens flawed decisions making process at crucial points of the game (reminds of Montoyo & the Jays blowing games late) and it has cost the teams alot of points during these past few seasons.
  13. Good response from the players after the Flyers tied it up late. With the re vamp roster hopefully they can continue to develope chemistry and learn to close these games out.
  14. Not sure if that was the last shift ? If true, a few more shifts would probably had been best to get his confidence up for the next game rather than stewing on some mistake - nothing new. Interesting to see how he plays next game after the demotion and benching.
  15. Yeah, the prevent tactic of protecting a lead has not work out well.
  16. Win is a win and off to Detroit. Watched the second; and Hogz with Granlund was fun to watch.
  17. Ditto: one game in with lots of moral victories (mainly about the late comeback) and some surprises: Kyle Burroughs. I hope him & Bones will solidify the third pairing.
  18. Still hopes the team does well and last nights game was still a lost and the participation trophy remarks are proof. My main point if you missed it: the roster has alot of depth after a busy offseason but I am still skeptical if the coaching staff can put it all together. Let see where the team is after 20 games.
