  1. Yeah, for me the Schmidt situation revealed alot about the off camera stuff - due to his perspective as a core player in a perrenial contender in Vegas. He chose to win in Winnipeg rather than live in one of the most expensive city in the world.
  2. Based on the pre season any more roster tweaking is a waste of future assets, as long as the coaching staff remains intact - just lookback to the Schmidt situation: where he came from a team that is a perrenial contender to Vancouver. Heck he went to Winnipeg over living in the lower mainland.
  3. Forgot about OJ - good chance he gets benched since JV & LE are gone.
  4. I wonder who gets benched since the usual suspects of: JV and LE are gone. Can a coach be benched and just let the players make there own line and plays for the rest of the game ?
  5. Yeah, the line juggling should be mostly done in practice rather than during the game but this has been Greens' MO when he gets desperate - adjust the lines cause his game strategies/structure are flawless. The players are just not buying in.
  6. Seems to be a trend - so good chance JB is already in the phone dangling our 1st round pick. Kidding aside, this game shows the team is not ready.
  7. This team will have no chance drafting in the top 3; unless they win the lottery cause it is about creating a winning a culture.
  8. More roster tweaking are coming and Green & friends will be extended.
  9. Roster has been re vamped but the staff has mostly remained intact.
  10. Yeah, Greens' preference towards veteran players makes it an uphill battle for rookies to making the club; unless of course, the rookie knocks the door down like what: EP, QH, Hogz, BB did from day one. It seems it is during practice where the rookies or tweeners need to earn there opportunities when it comes to Green and these older tweeners like Petan had realized that it is either now or never. It seems he had earned the opportunity to stick with the club (for now) from his performance in practice & his off ice preparation. In terms of Gadj, only time will tell if they made the right decision but in Greens' system he is not a fit at all but in another coaches system he MIGHT thrive (?). As a coach and based on his overall record, I am still very skeptical if Green is the right coach for this (re vamp) roster ? I believe the roster can be competitive but the coaching staff has remained mostly intact and IF the result remains the same - does it mean more roster tweaking is needed ?
  11. Great points and I am still skeptical if Green & friends can even be successful with this re vamp roster (?). Green system requires the right player cause it seemed he is not willing to adjust his system to accommodate any player.
  12. Good point and I agree that these pairing will be heavily leaned on. Imo, in order for this pairing to work, it will initially depend on both players buying in. Since both players are veterans it might not be that hard to convince both and with the help of the staff, they can perhaps develope a system that will enable them to thrive ?
  13. Based on the Staff remaining mostly intact, I chose Demko due to Greens' system being (mostly) dependent on solid goaltending. Although, the addition of OEL & Poolman are promising and the (biggest) Xfactor for me on the d side, is what changes Shaw can implement vs what we saw with Baumer in the past. At this point, there is alot to be excited about due the roster changes but the biggest question will be - how the staff will put it all together; and so far, there is no solid structure but it is after all, still the pre season, where there seems to still be alot of experimentation happening on the personnel side (for the most part) with pretty much the same system (being mostly) intact.
  14. X factor is coaching: if they are willing to give him a legit chance (?). Only if he has earned it.
  15. Ditto and it seems the staff are experimenting with a few things in regards to roster & structure - pre season hockey. Perhaps the disappointment(s) from the still mostly intact staff still lingers. As a wise person once stated: The key to a happy life is to have low expectations.
  16. Given thar the staff chose to iced a roster filled with players destined for the AHL - it would had been nice to see if the staff would had come up with a more structured system to compensate for the talent level despite the result. STILL THE PRE SEASON.
  17. After the major roster tweaking this past offseason the pressure is on the staff to put it together on the ice; and tonights performance still seems to indicate Greens & friends struggle with there IN GAME adjustments or decision making process - they still seems to make the wrong decision at the wrong time (especially) during critical parts of the game. Anyways, it is still the pre season and hopefully the Staff & players can identify & fix any issue(s) before the games starts to matter - perhaps they are experimenting with something ? Tonights game: Seattle stuck to there game plan, Grubauer was engaged and perhaps the MOSTLY ahl roster the staff chose to ice was the main reason for the results (?) - a boring and sloppy game to watch from my perspective.
  18. Good re signing ! Hopefully, he would play a majority of his games on the ice rather than off it. Hoping for a healthy Canuck tenure for the newest Canuck
  19. JB starting to heat up again - good depth signing; had high hopes for Brisebois; and with Abby close by - hopefully, he gets more chances to play in the NHL.
