  1. Yeah, no guarantees he performs under Greens' system/tutelage - hopefully, Shaw can deliver. Wishing him the best; and good chance he will fill the role.
  2. A good GM recognizes when things are getting stale and Price in MTL seems to be at this stage; and the move to Vegas, by MAF seems to had reinvigorated him - probably worth it for Seattle ? Prices' cap hit is quite significant for a five more years and if it doesn't work out it will be a very expensive mistake. For awhile now, Price has been underperforming the contract and his playoff was really a surprise (from my POV); perhaps, he just needs a change of scenery (?).
  3. Interesting comp; but based on the point alone they seem to be very comparable (ofcourse, context has to be considered when comparing players),: MH - 205 games 95pts RD - 197 games 107pts
  4. Yeah; perhaps this is the number his agent will use as the floor when negotiating a new deal for him. Team wise they are terrible but Dahlin has been productive.
  5. Dahlin in Buffalo would perhaps be a good comp to MH - talent wise ?
  6. Yeah, the 'I like Vancouver thing' seems like a ploy to get the fans on his side (from my POV) and to shame the Canucks into giving in. Imo, he has been paid well to stay (55÷ million during his tenure) and I am really interested to see what he gets offered from other clubs. It is time to give others a chance.
  7. An older & wiser Baumer ? Kidding aside, how about Perry ? Canucks - JT Miller ?
  8. Abbotsford - to appease the nostalgic crowd ? Really, interesting how he gets (if it happens) outside of the Vancouver bubble ?
  9. I get it and lol - another theoretical question; careful cause it might trigger some in the forum. Imo, just like JB, he wanted to field the best roster he could to make a run in the playoffs; and unlike JB, he has some cap space to work with. Secondly, I assumed that Sakic taught he might be able to convince him to stay for another run - for now, it seems Landeskog is not buying what he is selling ? Maybe, this is all just theater as part of a negotiating tactic from his end; and at the end of the day, he stays ?
  10. Just a facade for the fans cause it.is all business in reality; unless, the player has another source of income outside of his NHL salary: Mackinnon, Crosby and so on....
  11. No Mackinnon type deal ? Sakics' hardest job: how to keep all that talent together in a cap world; but they seem to have a good contingency plan (in place) to develope and sell high on the players they can't keep.
  12. Thanks for clarifying and it is a good point - ofcourse, no guarantee. IMO, any roster deficiencies can be mitigated (to a certain degree) by a good coaching staff, with a sprinkling of a lot of luck; and when it comes to the playoffs, it will come down to how they are calling the games and what type of teams are making the playoffs. A good coaching staff should be able field a competitive team, without having to always depend on good to great goaltending - imo.
  13. Not sure what you mean but my point, is that the young core JB was able to build will perhaps give the Canucks a good chance of competing for a cup. Ofcourse, there are no guarantees - so who knows; and it will be our descendants to witness the Canucks winning the cup
  14. Imo, it should be more reflective on the coaching staff - especially, from Schmidts’ perspective, who experienced what a good staff can do with a bunch of (so called) cast offs.
  15. Yeah, Gillis has all the trophies and JB has the picks to perhaps give him the one trophy that trumps them all - fingers crossed.
