  1. Yeah, time to see what the team has with these prospects; and looking forward to what Shaw can do with these players development.
  2. Yeah - the side of coaching, that is not really talked about when acquiring players or introducing rookies into the line up cause the deployment & usage is up to them. Credit should just not go to Poile for acquiring the players but more so to the staff & supporting staff for helping to develope those defencemans. Really hoping Shaw can deliver
  3. Yeah, perhaps after the ED he gets extended. Preferably, I hope they wait as long as possible and stick to a one year 1 million dollar or less offer.
  4. I liked Sutter; but hindsight, has proven he was overpayed for his lack of on ice production due to injuries. Although, it seems his off ice reputation as a leader is intact.
  5. Yeah; as the Edlers’ move on, Iam looking forward as to how the identify of the team transitions to reflect the young core.
  6. Interesting, how other teams will value him; outside of a Canucks’ perspective.
  7. Yeah, a highly motivated BB will benefit the team as well
  8. Yeah, just like Hyman - Danault was also playing for a big contract. His deployment & usage will have to be considered when signing these types of player cause there is no guarantee they will fit or like the role that Green puts them in; and you get an expensive pouting boat anchor.
  9. BB is heading into his RFA - good chance, he shows up motivated this year
  10. Yeah, Dubas and the Laffs staff had made something out of a mostly bottom 6 player, looking to cash in FA. The importance of a staffs role when it comes to player development; and on the opposite side, Greens affect on Schmidt.
  11. Yeah, they had been rebuilding for awhile now (two 1st OA's in 4yrs), Hughes has one year and another top 4 pick this year. Not sure if they will be willing to pick a goalie at #4; but perhaps the Graves trade, guarantees that they are not picking a defenceman at #4 - you might be right: a goalie or a forward at #4 then ? If they get the breaks, there young roster clicks with the staff and they get solid goaltending, then I would agree, that they might be competitive this year - will have to wait & see. They do have a good collection of young players.
  12. Pretty bold prediction and Graves is a good add to there D core; but no guarantees he will be a good fit
  13. Good on Sakic for recognizing his potential; and kudos on there staff for developing him & upping his value - traded for Chris Bigras (who ?) on February 26 ,2018.
  14. Contract year numbers; whearas, the rest are more a reflection of his true production - but ofcourse, the context of his usage & deployment through out his career will have to be considered. Moving forward, the real question is how he will adapt if the team were to change course - will he be able to adjust, be durable and can he play up & down the line up ?
  15. Yeah, in JBs’ tenure we had seen a lot of these examples (ofcourse, these types of situation are nothing new in pro sports). If I am a GM any player, at/close to 30 looking for a contract and had an uptick leading up to the contract - will only get at (most) two years or a bunch of show me contracts moving forward. I get it and I don’t blame the players; if a GM, is foolish enough to negotiate that deal - then it is on the GM and the coach (to a lesser degree) cause good chance, the coach would had been consulted as well.
  16. Imo, Hyman was playing for a contract; regardless, he played his heart out for the Laffs and earned this opportunity; but I am not sure, if he doesn’t end up like Rooster or Beagle once he signs his retirement contract.
  17. This point: is what some are missing when it comes to prospects trying to earn a spot in the NHL; all these players have been fine tuning there game since they were young but the opportunity to play has to be given and the icetime earned cause game day deployment & roster is still on the staff. Last years lost season would had been a perfect opportunity to play & showcase the future; and some/all of the questions about these prospects would had been answered (atleast, under Baumers’ system it seems JC is at best an NHL call up or an AHL’er). With hindsight, it was an uphill battle from the start; but Green played the players he trusted. Imo, our young core removed Green out of the equation by forcing themselves into the roster. Really hoping Shaw can deliver (?).
  18. Not really surprised about the name and glad that I can just go to Abby to watch the future instead of waiting for Green to do it - if this coming season is a losing one.
  19. Montreal seemed to be a team that got hot at the right time; just like Dallas last year, they didn’t even make the playoffs this year.
  20. I still did not mention anything about JB signing the Sedins
  21. You still missed my point - didn’t say anything about JB; just a theoretical question if Yzerman was a Canuck GM. You are still over reacting. It is to be expected that you disagree - since you have been giving a bunch of my posts a rough game emoji.
  22. Precautionary tale when acquiring or signing players to there last big FA contract - a team has to be better at finding out about these players characters or have better outs. I will also celebrate when LE is nothing but a bad memory Great back & forth
