  1. Yeah, players understand that these meaningless games, have no real benefit to the team cause there will be some roster changes coming in the offseason and personally, it is about padding there stats. I get it - nothing new among fanbases of all sports teams: the bullying tactics of labeling, shaming then crickets, seems to be a known tactics by the 'true fans'. Back to the OP - great add to the roster; hope he earns his spot (like EP) from day one and doesn't give the staff any chance to even sit him.
  2. Yeah, his development seems to had stalled and if he gets traded - I hope he lives up to that #5 selection; I still think he can be an NHL player in the right system, perhaps he is just not a fit in Greens system like JV.
  3. RNH will be a better add than Reinhart (imo) cause he actually tries to be a responsible centre; and especially, with the cost: only cap. If they are able to sign RNH and kept there draft picks this would be a perfect aggressive offseason - a 2C or a 3C that is not just good at faceoffs.
  4. Yeah, there is enough examples of Greens system at play, with the obvious yearly results - just hoping he will be able to evolve with his coaching strategy cause he is here for two more years. It seems JB has staked his legacy as GM with Greens ability to coach the Canucks - big gamble on his part given the current state of the team.
  5. Guess this makes us less of a fan by having this POV in a losing season.
  6. Yeah, there will be cheaper option(s) and if put in the right system the player can be impactful or vice versa - Schmidt.
  7. No worries; good back & forth and get some sleep. Offseason is almost here and there will be alot to discuss by then.
  8. From my point of view, EP earned his spot from day one and he never gave the staff a chance to even consider sitting him. If Podz, will do the same, there is a good chance he will have an impact.
  9. Yeah, good pieces to have but JB has some cleaning up to do and he has no one to blame.
  10. How is it a smear job cause you don't know how he will do unless he does what EP did by - forcing his way into the roster from day one; and look at Schmidt. I get it, you like Green as coach and this post is just as much a smear job on another poster.
  11. Seth Jones would be a great add but as I stated in my earlier post: having a coaching staff that is capable of creating a structure that maximizes the roster - regardless of talent - would probably be just as important as acquiring a player like Jones. So far, this coaching staff seems incapable and the yearly results are underwhelming; ofcourse, JB & Green are still discussing his assistants; and if Baumer & Brown comes back all it means is more of the same. if by some miracle, they get Jones, he will probably become the Canucks version of Thomas Chabot were he plays alot of minutes but overall the team still struggles to win games. Hope I am wrong and still hoping for the team to do better next year.
  12. I get it - but with JBs' track record in the draft, there is good chance the pick will play in the NHL. For every Patrick there is also the inverse player - imo, it would probably be prudent to see how the team will be next year under Greens tutelage before making any signings or trade. Anyways, it doesn't matter cause they already stated that this offseason will be an aggressive one, so it seems nothing is off the table and hopefully this offseason is not a repeat of JBs' last spending spree which (with hindsight) hurt the team. The team has been in this retool limbo under Greens tenure for awhile now and just hoping for a balance approach that considers the past mistakes before commiting.
  13. I disagree, at this early stage; would rather wait until the season starts to see if the team is actually competitive - just not confident that Green is the right coach. I get it - the ink is dry and still hoping the team will do well. Trade it for what - Seth Jones ?
  14. Yeah, its been awhile now but watching the young core develope with the other prospects has been the only reason to keep watching (for me) during the teams current retool. Luckily, JB is good at drafting and hope he keeps it going.
  15. Already cleared this up - just read the previous posts. Next ?
  16. Yeah, a sad ending to the JV saga; was hoping to see him and Podz in the same line...
  17. You are taking this conversation away from my point and if the word game strategy is very familiar to you then you seem to be employing it right now - a very familiar strategy and then crickets. It is meant to acknowledge - it is a rumour but it can't be ignored that Schmidt did looked like two different players from his time in Vegas and here but not my point.
  18. I did say - if true and if you read my post, my main point is the coaching staffs ability to create a system that maximizes the roster and the Schmidt comment was mostly an after taught.
  19. Great signing but we will see but we will see how he does in Green tutelage.
  20. What is JB suppose to say, after Greens re signing. Backroom deals are where deals get started - been happening since the start of human history and everything else are just for show and a formality.
  21. Yeah, Schmidt has first hand experience of both systems and his play in Greens system - says alot (perhaps the main reason for his request to get traded - if true). Not confident in this coaching staff to build a competent system that doesn't depend on stellar goaltending. JB will have the hard task in this offseason, to find a player that fit (perfectly) in Greens system rather than a coach that is capable of maximizing any given roster despite the talent. I get it - the ink is dry and I hope he doesn't let JBs' down by employing the same strategies.
