  1. I get it - might be a good add, unless JB is working on a trade - hope its not for a player that is one year away from FA (Reinhart).
  2. Good contexts on McTavish; if he is anything like Craig McTavish the player and he forces his way into our lineup then the Canucks might have a 3C or 4C - lots of if's, would not be a bad player if the team drafts him,.
  3. Good points, the first year of his contract (imo) is a wash and the last year - he will demand more veterans to fill the roster cause the issues is always the talent rather than his system - based on the presser with JB. Aggressive = Desperation or Band Aide solutions. Ditto, on JV - he should just had focused on the things he can control, just like: EP, BB, QH & Hogz were they didn't even give Green a chance to sit them; whilst, continueing there development playing on the ice rather than sitting on the sideline.
  4. UI - perhaps there applying for the GM & team president positions ?
  5. Yeah, would had preferred the roster with a different coach but the ink is dry and with the stigma of the allegations against JV, good chance the PR department had already made the trade for this offseason. If true, Green really did a good job mind fracking JV - sad. Tragic end to the JV & Green saga, with more Green as the only remaining part - smh; hope this situation will have a positive effect on JV moving forward.
  6. Under Green/Baumer we might not want that D (?).
  7. Yeah, Green based on his record has failed with this roster and I am not confident the team will have a better record, even if McD is in the team. A talented player if misused or miscasted is just wasted and it seems from the outside, that he likes playing mental games (as well). Hope he proves us wrong and plays four lines rather than the usual deployment of two lines & four D... JB did mention the flat cap and the teams cap situation so - I am expecting an older Edler & Sutter resigning for nostalgic reasons to appease the important fan base; a great intangibles player to take minutes away from the youths and a one sided trade for perhaps a Reinhart type player (who is one year away from RFA).
  8. Watched Wallsted a few times and he reminds me of Markie or at best Loungo - very talented goalie with the physical attributes but he seems to be missing the mental fortitude to be a championship goalie - MAF. Perhaps like Loungo (lots of hype) a great regular season goalie but not a champion; although, he will probably still get into the HOF, due mainly (perhaps) to his off ice reputation ?
  9. Ditto, the Green resigning and if you listened to the presser - both JB & Green acknowledged that the problem is the lack of talent with no clear acknowledgement of any potential changes to Greens system. I would argue, that a Coach is really defined with the success he can have with a lesser roster cause if you can outcoach other coaches when the talent level is subpar compared to another then - you get the idea. Green has miscasted or misused a few of the players; likes playing the vets (while the vets continues to let him down) and the only reasons, we see the rookies getting in the lineup is because they had surpass the coaches expectations & they are forced to a play them; otherwise, they marinate in the sideline. Hope, he is a different coach based what we had seen cause his record as a coach, even with a semi re vamp roster is still the same. Ultimately, this on Aquaman and with hindsight a total rebuild a few years back would had been the prudent move but there is no appetite among the season ticket holders (the important fans) for a bottoming out season; and this is - perhaps - the group that would have an affect on Aquaman decisions making. Ron Francis just like McPhee with the generous expansion rules will perhaps be a closer Vegas; perhaps the real reason for the Aggressive off season which really mean band aid solutions/desperation at the cost of the future. Still hoping for a balanced offseason with the main focus on patience and reflection on past mistakes.
  10. Unless these two forces there way into the roster and just based on Greens past tendency (in the past) with unknown rookies - they will be doing alot of marinating in the sideline.
  11. I get it - ultimately, it is Aquaman who is setting the expectations and mandate of the team. Yeah, the presser was a real downer cause it seems like alot of empty platitudes rather than a clear reflection of learning past mistakes. Get ready for the offseason: Aggressive = Desperation or band aid solution at the cost of unkown lottery tickets; let's enjoy the Green & Friends show and good chance, a few overpayments for great intangibles or nostalgic signings to fill the rosters. I do wonder what factors or voices Aquaman is considering when making his decisions: season ticket holders ?
  12. Looking forward to next year and thanks goalie13
  13. Ditto but I wonder what influences Aquamans decisions - season ticket holders = $ ?
  14. I understand - been through it then crickets.
  15. Ditto. Just a minor correction: JB was trying to rescue the Yotes from that atrocious contract there previous GM signed by overpaying for it in assets and cap.
  16. Yeah, a team only has two ways to improve more rostering tweaking or change of strategy through a coaching change. We all got the answer from the presser and with Greens re signing - more roster tweaking for cheaper & unknown lottery tickets (which the team has limited to supply due to past moves). Aggressive seems to really mean DESPERATION !
  17. I agree but the context of having a discussion with a different poster has to be taken in context and everyone does it from the: I am real fan club members to the miscellaneous; then what would the point of this site.
  18. Nothing wrong about that as long as there are some understanding & is welcomed by the other side but if iit has digressed to mostly lecturing or labeling then - time to move on. Not a good environment to fostering any discussion - taking to a person who doesn’t know you but hates you for disagreeing
  19. Good take, hopefully he pulls Dubas - Spezza & Thornton type players and deals; or very balanced approach
  20. Good take but for some it is mostly about taking sides & there views and anyone who disagree is labeled or made a fun off rather than talking about the team we all support but it gives cover for the mismanagements.
  21. I understand that a forum is a platform to have discussions not an echo chamber. Maybe change this site from a discussion forum to a clubhouse.
  22. Yeah, I remember an astute local reporter (didn’t know they existed) asked him about the great intangibles signings and it seems like he danced around the question with Green bobbling his head right beside him like a ......
  23. Yup, hopefully that phone line goes straight to the hindsight department
