So more of the same and VERY good chance, the playoff chasing strategy will never bring a cup to Vancouver vs all the teams that understands & embraces, a proper rebuild - just look at the list of the Cup Champs in the Cap era: most/all had rebuilt though the draft. Right now, the team & fans are in great spirit due to the mini winning steak, but as the games become more important: the D will continue to get expose, the depth will be tested due to injuries and Demko will have to be back to form cause a similar finish to last year or squeaking in, to just become playoff fodder will just entrenched the team in NHL Purgatory. Honest question: will the Cali clubs (LA & Anaheim) that are almost done with their rebuilds and the current rebuilders (Detroit, Montreal & Arizona), be better position in a year or more to contend for a cup than the (ever retooling) Canucks ? Sure, a playoff apperance, ever so often or a few one & done (per core), Cup appearance every decade are great but we don't live forever.
