  1. Thank you! You made such an excellent point, thank you for expressing it so well. You're right, he should not have made that public, the Canucks organization can't have that type of thought or representation within their ranks as it undermines their operation. Having said that, Human Resources and Management departments exist for a reason in the professional sphere and they shouldn't be intermingled with social media in most cases.
  2. I was surprised to see the matter taken to social media, but I see why it happened now.
  3. That's really cool to hear about, thanks for sharing that. Garry Point and that whole area is very nice. They did such an excellent thing by maintaining the heritage and parks areas, it really is a fantastic area for tourism. And even the newer buildings are keeping the coastal village style to them. There's a lot to celebrate in Steveston. Thanks to your Dad and Harold Steves, so interesting to hear about that.
  4. I just like making polls, I think it's fun. I get to hold my own elections online. People are sharing interesting things about the local neighbourhoods etc.
  5. I like giving others the option to vote for more than one. I would say North Van and White Rock are my favorites. Incidentally, I really like Bellingham too, Whatcom County is such a beautiful area to me.
  6. Besides the City of Vancouver, which town or city is your favorite in Greater Vancouver? I think that every town has it's own uniqueness and benefits to the locals. All of these places are developing and growing. Do you have any favorite areas? what are your favorite attributes? the people? restaurants? parks? leisure? nightlife? transportation? shopping? nature? It would be awesome if Surrey had an AHL Team. West Vancouver is beautiful but feels kind of closed-off to non-locals. Richmond used to be really quiet and boring, but it's developing fast, has tons of gorgeous coastline. White Rock is gorgeous, Burnaby is so central and bustling. Ridge Meadows is very peaceful. Langley has the small town country feel but has all the amenities. New West has got very unique and historical parts.
  7. I'm really hopeful that Gaudette as a young player will continue to raise his game, because he seemed to have been quite sheltered in that 3rd line role last year. I hope that he has developed his shot or added another skill to his arsenal. Maybe he will come in really fit and with more maturity, determined to be a two way force. It would be so great if players like AG and others step it up this season. We could potentially improve on last season which is exciting.
  8. Come on voters! Dennis Potvin belongs on the Mount Rushmore of NHL defencemen. It goes: Orr, Potvin , Bourque, Robinson, Lidstrom, Harvey Lidstrom was an excellent all-round defenceman, but not 2nd behind Orr. I voted Al Mac because he's my fav.
  9. Lidstrom was such an excellent defenceman, I feel bad only being able to pick one. The top 5 at each position of all time can be quite a raging debate.
  10. OH MacInnis, his accomplishments and performances are outstanding, He played the game so perfectly straight up in my eyes. His balance, spacing, IQ, shot, timing, power game were so good to me, even though I was never a Flames or Blues fan, I was definitely a Team Canada fan and he deserves his accolades there too. The Shot! BOOOM ! and he actually got his howitzer off , I find it hard to admire any Flames player, but he's my guy.
  11. Could we correct the spelling 'MacInnis' in the poll Al MacInnis is my favorite defenceman behind Bobby Orr.
  12. That is so awesome of you!! especially this time of year, these programs need and appreciate support. UGM and Salvation Army, etc. they are like heroes. People can turn their lives around, and become healed and whole thanks to their efforts.
  13. JT Miller please, he is such an awesome person to have on this team
  14. Hi everyone! Here is the link for donating to the Red Cross. https://www.redcross.ca/donate/appeal/donate-to-the-canadian-red-cross-fund#a0650cb6-ce29-4c40-b663-e749a0a9163f One of their current urgent appeals is for the Yemen crisis. It's amazing what small contributions or help to others can do! I received help from a stranger on a few occasions and those are some of the most beautiful moments of my life. We are fortunate to have the things we need, so let us think about others because every life is precious. Every single person's effort of contribution makes a big difference in the world, there is so much we can do for each other Feel that beautiful energy or caring and compassion that we all have to share. Be well, stay in peace
  15. I sometimes say or write things that I immediately want to reverse. We all have made errors. We can correct our mistakes and improve. We know that thoughts, words and actions have power. We all have the power to stoke incredible positive energy. - Taking a moment to send peace and healing-
  16. I adore a breakfast or brunch after a night out with friends. French Toast is my favorite. Please describe the most delicious places to have breakfast/brunch and why is it good there? I only included franchises in the poll. But I know there are so many great places, let's hear it! The prison cafe in new west was really good. Have an awesome day, you are so amazing. You are loved.
  17. Makar, Hughes and Dahlin are all potential future Norris trophy winners to me.
  18. Thanks for the reply! I added that useful information to the post!! It's great to have others offer their info and research. This is all part of the beauty and learning and progress available in online communities like this ! I have also found that the vast majority of people love to share in the togetherness and knowledge. Keep being an amazing community, because there is so much joy in life. Love to you all.
  19. OK, so it looks like we are almost set for a Canadian division to start the year, which is really exciting, what a unique change. we will probably play each team 5 or 6 times? so 35 games or so Let's anticipate the season with your thoughts on this unique division, probably one time only! 1) Vancouver - Our core group will improve this year, we have a lot of talent and we should add reinforcements in the new year 2) Edmonton - Our games v Alberta will be really hard fought no doubt 3) Toronto - I really dislike the Leafs, they make me uncomfortable and I love defeating them 4) Calgary - They are going to be a real deep solid team, its good for us that there's no Sea of Red this year. 5) Montreal - Wildcard team, could finish anywhere from 1-6 6) Winnipeg - plenty of talent but a weaker D and inconsistency issues 7) Ottawa - Future is looking brighter, but still a bottom feeder You are beautiful, let's appreciate small joys and moments. You are special and loved. Treat each other so well! it's beauty in life! Thank you to posters for their requests on the post! I probably have a typo or two in the data and we can assume it benefits them incorrectly. - Leafs, Habs and Jets all standout as having more success against fellow Canadian teams. - Vancouver and Ottawa are noticeably worse against fellow Canadian teams. - Jets 2017-18 was the most dominant season in the last three years vs other Canadian teams at a 12-2-1 record and .833 point percentage. - Standout Team Matchups: Edmonton 5-0-1 against Montreal Montreal 5-0-1 against Calgary Montreal 9-1-2 against Ottawa Montreal 5-0-1 against Vancouver Toronto 5-1 against Edmonton Winnipeg 7-1-1 against Edmonton Winnipeg 8-0 against Vancouver
  20. I believe that Miller-Petterson is more of a pair. Boeser would give Gaudette an excellent trigger man. I really hope that one or more of these players makes a leap this year.
  21. Hi I heard on the radio earlier someone mention about potentially juggling the lineup this coming season, and it could be very interesting, especially with the development of the young guys and the up and comers. Petterson is such a threat alone that he could be deployed alongside more supporting players such as a MacEwan, Gaudette etc. This would free up Miller and Boeser to present such a greater scoring threat for our other lines. Wouldn't it be great if Lind or Hoglander were ready? Thanks guys! be well , take care, we are all loved. Miller - Petterson - Virtanen Miller - Petterson - Boeser Pearson - Horvat - Eriksson Pearson - Horvat - Virtanen Roussel - Gaudette - Boeser Roussel - Gaudette - MacEwan Motte - Beagle - Sutter Motte - Beagle - Sutter Eriksson Eriksson Edler - Myers Hughes - Myers Hughes - Schmidt Edler - Schmidt Juolevi - UFA/Trade Juolevi - Chatfield Benn Benn Demko/Holtby
  22. HAHA NO silly! I appreciate all the posters! I like all the replies. Dazzle is awesome, Sharpshooter isn't being very positive or supportive but hey this is a public forum and way fun to participate, we can still communicate our way around those types of things!
  23. https://www.sportsnet.ca/650/the-program/june-18-the-canucks-have-kicked-the-tires-on-hoffman/ https://www.prohockeyrumors.com/2020/10/latest-on-mike-hoffmans-market.html There were rumours a couple of years ago, and now we are hearing them again about interest in Hoffman. He is such a consistent scorer, and would be so dangerous in our top 6. GMJB is certainly paying attention to locker room chemistry, so Hoffman's baggage might not sit well, but strictly hockey from a hockey sense, I would like him here.
  24. We aren't talking right now because we blocked each other. That is awesome, because people aren't perfect all the time, but we keep moving this train forward Thx Sid
