    People said I was crazy when I said trade Miller. Now I am saying, trade Miller & Bo or Miller & Boeser, it is time. It makes sense now. Get picks & younger players.

      I've also been on the trade Miller train since last year. It's just sad to see that we couldn't capitalize on prospects/picks.

      It simply might a question if you're not being offered the right deal, do you make a deal for the sake of a deal? What if they are offering a meh prospect, and a 2nd?

       

      Benning has painted this team into a corner. It is not going to be easy to get out.

       

      What if the return for Miller, Bo, and Brock is lousy? Sometimes the trade you don't make is the right one.

       

      There's only 8 of out 32 teams that have over $3 million in cap space. Hard to get picks and prospects when other teams are against the cap.

      @Ghostsof1915 sometimes a trade is valuable in the form of cap space, sending a message. Your not going to be here being mediocre. I’d rather take a 2nd, prospect and move on with life then be stuck for years. To change your future, you have to change what you do in the present.

      Hey, I'm willing to give a guy a second chance. Looks like Kane is making real changes in his life and attitude, and I love to see it. Wish Virtanen would've done the same.

    I am starting feel like the Canucks are doing a crap job developing our prospects....

      We seem to do okay with some of our top-end talent, but definitely falter with later picks. Plenty of success with Horvat, Boeser, Hughes, Petey, and Demko, but right now, guys like Podz, Hoglander, and Rathbone are looking pretty iffy.

      Our inability to draft and develop talent drafted beyond the first round is devastating to our ability to compete or build. Or at least is has been. I'd even argue Pettersson and Hughes were simply too naturally gifted for us to mess up.

      Horvat, Hughes, Boeser and Petey can't be considered products of AHL development.

      These guys all arrived and went straight to NHL.

       

      Pods and Hoglander. No AHL time, but yeah. Not really developing.

       

      Demko / goalie development under Ian Clark is also (in my mind) independent of the "Canucks Development program".

       

      Rathbone-> completely stagnant development.

       

      Virtanen is an interesting case, but definitely a great example of terrible development.

      Looking over capgeek Detroit is one of the few teams that could afford Myers or Poolman.  Would be a huge win for us Nuckleheads imo

    I agree. Boes is good, real gud but only when he is consistently playing... I think its a risk but one you take because of his injuries.

    I don’t see him as 3rd pairing. He is a 2-4 dman. Even if it’s 1-2million over payments in the second half of the contract. That’s still better than a lot of teams!

    Francesco is not the owner but simply the head. Luigi is the owner, another member of the family or someone else can be appointed it it gets that bad. The team is to valuable as a write off and profit for not only this business but others as well.

    Not surprising. I use to work very closely on day to day business with Luigi. Luigi is a very stern individual who can get out of hand, even as an older gentleman. I would not be surprised if this was a generational qualities passed down.

    This saves CGY for a couple years. But might put them in a spot in 2-3 years. Very exciting for Western Canada, makes it tough for the Canucks. Love the competition, can only make us better!

    I like what Florida did, I think it’s a smart decision for the future. Plus they can potentially sign either of these guys next off season.

      If anything this could turn out to be a long term migraine for the team.

       

      A lot of Florida fans (contraction in terms?) are very unhappy with this trade.
