  1. I think the #2 pick will be in Matvei Michkov. as long as he recovers well from injury. He has committed himself to the KHL until 2026 makes him a plus to bottom feeder teams. He is a tank pick, because he wont have the chance to improve the team until his D+3 year. A bottom feeder team could have 3 top 5 picks enter the league within 2 years which could really allow for you to gun for it in 4-5 years time

      Not sure a guy unavailable for that long would go as high as #2, especially being committed to the KHL. Might be a bit of the Podkolzin effect.

      I'll be surprised if anyone committed to the KHL goes top 5 given what's going on in Russia and Ukraine.

      Most would want their top 3 pick to have an NHL impact within 2-3 years. D+3 is a long time and a big risk for a team to take on with a high pick. All that matters to the Canucks is who is projected to be available at #5
