  1. why would they take gaudette when they could just sign a replaccement level forward for min salary and get better results. gaudettes last years number hardly made up for his lack of defense. this year? this is his closer to his normal. gaudettes 16% shooting percentage wasn't going to continue, nor was virtanens 12%.
  2. right, cause you get in better shape by not playing. what does he win folks? lamest excuse of the year.
  3. gaudette was the plug my friend. https://www.nhl.com/video/duchene-opens-scoring/t-323734044/c-8118327 on this play everything he could do wrong he did. slow to react, didnt hustle, attacked the wrong side of the player, he was 10 feet too far away and 5 feet offset where he should have been. the kid is a mess. myers was the defeneman that played with gaudette the most, he is a +2 and has 2 assists in 5 games sutter was his center he has 3 points and is a + 2 in 5 games. gaudette scratched 3 games in a row. can you smell whats cooking?
  4. oh i understood it all right. its called Strawman and moving the goal posts. its a last ditch effort when someone is losing a argument.
  5. this trade wasn't about clearing cap. it was about getting rid of a player thats performed so bad that he's going to be playing in sweden net year, ala gaudette. care to explain why this kid has been scratched again? is it because of all his skill and potential? see above. and also simple grade 1 math. player helps team with 6 ev goals but is on the ice for 19 ev goals against 19-6= YOUR WRONG. WOMP WOMP WOMP
  6. LOVE on netflix. 0 out of 10 if you hate awkward comedies 10 out of 10 if you like them. The co-lead Gus played by Paul Rust is a very Akward young, single 30 something nice guy. He plays the role perfectly, and at times the cringe level is unbearable. The co Lead Mickey Played by Jillian Jacobs is your classic Bad girl, struggling alcoholic who always chooses the wrong guy, or at least thats what she keeps telling herself. Her Past Boyfriend's make frequent appearance's causing shenaigans in her life. Together, they meet by chance and become friends after a day spent together where each other help one another out.
  7. in your blind eyes yes, but the coaches and gm have jobs to do. they have more info. juolevi sat beccause of cap reasons this year, Green said so. Rathbonemakes more than Juolevi, so.........................................................
  8. no. players are at thier prime between the ages of 25-29 . experience matters, strength matters.
  9. thats the thing, are they? the NHL is a different beast than the AHL. ever heard of jason krog? anyways it's not like the coaches are in the dark like you and me. they see them practise and play, they have videotape and other metrics. there is also cap considerations. Did you know that rookies have bonuses that players like Highmore, Hawryluk, Vesey, Boyd. do not?
  10. slowly, gradually, make them earn it. sometimes even if they earn it (but not by much), you still give it to a veteran or a underperforming youth. sometimes its better to play 20 minutes in the ahl vs 7 in the nhl.
  11. https://novacapsfans.com/2020/09/28/a-look-at-the-average-age-of-all-of-this-years-nhl-playoff-teams/#:~:text=The average age of a player in the, which will greatly reduce the team’s average age. this article shows how generally the older your team is the better it is. of the 16 teams that made the playoffs last year only 2 had a lower age than the average age of 27.3 that means that 14 teams where higher and much higher in some cases.
  12. man, I would consider them prospects. You dont give prospects jobs, otherwise you get the 2016/2017 canucks or todays buffalo. in 2016/2017 you would be arguing, gaunce and virtanen where both first round picks and as such were two of the top young hockey players in the world. Simple as that.
  13. i'm not sure I would describe Lind, Gadjovich, Rathbone as top young players. seeing as they haven't played too many games in the NHL.
  14. if you add up all the points per game of the veterans and then the rookies veterans win. if you add up all the +/- per minute played the veterans have a better number. the veterans played tougher minutes than the rookies. and they played more minutes, its the myers effect. the more minutes you play on a bad team with bad players the worse your stats are. and if i recall the sedins spent a fair share of their time on separate lines. the veterans generally had better puck possesion stats too. but yeah keep on with your ludicrous argument.
  15. i know he's not a  fan favorite, but shouldn't loui eriksson at least deserve some mention on the  stats page.

louie is a good person who can't produce to his contract amount. i believe louie will retire after this season.. whatever he does, i wish him well. most teams have their louie's.

Lots of bad decisions these days.  Most are minor and can be justified from certain points of view.  Don't expect the same things happening next year at this time.

  16. i was pining for him to get the job over juolevi, I heard so many different rumours about him coming up to the pre-season. most of them were good, I guess Juolevi was just better defensively than Rafferty. I really hope he gets a shot to make it in the NHL, wherever that may be
  17. oh cool, another poster that argues thier pov without actually doing any actual fact checking neat. that was horvats third season hardly a rookie anymore. huttons second.a -22 troy stetcher was -16 trymakin? pretty decent. gaunce was a huge success eh? boeser played 5 games. he was not a significant part of the team virtanen played 10, and was heavily sheltred. Labate ew grenier yikes goldobin meh cramarossa uhhhhh. molino who? grenier uh oh. mceneny double who? zaleweski uh again, rendulic errr. no doubt why all our vets had such bad numbers, they had to babysit.
  18. what a silly thing to say. do you think rob schremp was a good player? because gaudette is basically schremp 2.0 I wouldn't doubt it if he's playing in europe next year.
  19. rafferty will be 26 next year, he will not get the same treatment as juolevi. If jim doesn't offer him a one way contract I see him walking.
  20. oh, we just have a different definition of prospects. I wouldn't call Tree or Rafferty prospects, tree especially. It wouldn't hurt my feelings to throw these players to the wolves. as for this season, sure lind should get some games, and for rafferty I suppose you could have edler play with him, and have schmidt with hughes?
  21. I think it's really easy to complain about the team, its just the easier path. It takes time and effort to see the good with the bad, you actually got to spend a very considerable amount of time and effort. You can't change these people's view because they just don't put any effort into being a fan, but they still wan't to be heard. if you challenge them they will disappear and reappear at thier earliest convenience. But Some of these fans are quite atrocious, are these sayings dead? "if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all" or "The grass isn't always Greener on the other side" and my all time favorite “If you don’t like something change it; if you can’t change it, change the way you think about it.” But in the end, we are who we choose to be. If these people want to get worked up over molehills, theres not much we can do about it. It would be a shame to see you leave these boards, you are so many things to us. But another quote comes to mind "Anything that costs your peace is too expensive" so maybe the ignore button could sooth your soul. Take Care.
