  1. ok i havent watched the game yet. please recommend a takeout food and beer for maximum enjoyment. my first thoughts are hot wings and kokanee gold.
  2. OMG, IMAGINE THE BURNS. TO is going to be chirped so bad they might have to call a timeout. "hey refs they being mean again"
  3. this is what brings teams together, blood brothers. Errr..... Covid brothers
  4. not all analytics are the same. Evolution Hockey's stuff is HOT GARBAGE IMO. jordie benn is our 2 best GAR producer on our team, and 75% of it comes from offence. for RAPM players stats are penalized for playing with the same teammates and players who play little time are rewarded/subtracted points to bring them closer to average. what i like about elite hockeys QOC metrics and WOODWOWY is you can compare who plays against who and who thier teammates are. what I have found out is myers plays more EV minutes with my two favorite forwards Gaudette and Beagle. Gaudette plays about 55% of his minutes with myers. Beagle plays about 40% with myers. I'm also not really sure whose linemate myers is. he generally out with schmidt and benn the most but benn and schmidt play more minutes with hughes and edler. myers also plays with edler and hughes too more than any other defenceman, except schmidt/edler, hughes/benn and hughes/hamonic frankly myers just 'exists" always out there, constantly retrieving the puck with beagle and cursing gaudette for giving him the courtesy of not having a winger down low in thier own end. if you wonder why myers analytics are so bad, blame green.

  6. there was 32 buyer-seller trades in the last 3 weeks before the deadline. it is totally unacceptable that the canucks only made 2 of those trades. san jose made 4. detroit made 4 columbus made 4 buffalo made 4 ottawa made 3 calgary made 2 chicago made 2 and also made some "noise" new jersey made 2 la made 2 but also bought anaheim made 1 flyers made 1 rangers made 1 nashville bought mtl bought oilers bought tampa bought carolina bought Islanders bought winnepeg bought boston bought washington bought florida bought pittsburgh bought colarado bought 6 teams did nothing I have some questions of the 13 buyers only one can be right and win. will all these players end up re-signing with thier new team? of the 12 sellers only 5 made more trades than the nucks, are all of them better than jim? of the 6 teams that did nothing, are they all worse than jim? how does this list even add up to more than 31 teams?
  7. true story, not even half the players on the trade bait list were traded. https://www.tsn.ca/tsn-hockey-s-trade-bait-list-1.203546
  8. its not easy being a gm thats for sure. i can only imagine the conversation with beagle when he signed. JIM: we plan to be a competitive team in a few years. We want you to be a leader that can put up 20 points and be our go to pk man. 3Mx3 sign here Beagles agent: I have a few offers from a couple teams that are offering a similar contract, but I think they are a more promising team than yours. I would like to be a part of the team when it's successful, if you want me, give me 3Mx4 and a NTC. you have a couple hours to decide. JIM: offers contract to riley nash. we plan to be a competitive team in a few years. We want you to be a leader that can put up 20 points and be our go to pk man. 3Mx3 sign here Rileys agent: sorry you will have to do much better than that, I got a great offer from a great team. Jim: **** me. 3.5Mx3? Rileys agent: sorry better still. call me back when your serious,I'M busy GTG. Jim: FML
  9. I believe without the covid situation markstrom, tanev and toffoli would be rocking a canucks uniform.if it wasn't for covid we probably wouldn't have faced vegas in the playoffs. Jim realized that you can't spend money on D that can't get the puck out, so tanev was going to walk. the schmidt trade presented itself and benning jumped. If Jim wanted to sign Toffoli meant that jim had to trade myers for a pick and signing a cheap 35+ veteran or a struggling young player for 1.5m myers with 0.8M retained would have been enough, anything more and we would have to find other ways to makeup that salary. most likely that would be trading virtanen for a pick. our lineup would have looked something like this miller ep40 boeser pearson horvat toffoli hoglander sutter virtanen motte beagle roussel macewen, gaudette edler schmidt hughes hamonic benn/joulevi chatfield/benn rafferty I don't think this team is any better than our current one, and maybe we get a 3rd/4th round pick out of the deal?
  10. nah, takes too long to heal. Jim would have just said, season ending.
  11. my guess is its a very vunerable spot, something that teams could target. torn muscle, torn ligament, fractured bone, spinal cord, serious mental imbalance. the list for what it's not is a lot shorter, fractured wrist or collarbone for example.
  12. may first we will know for sure. mtl and van have 8 games during that time. our schedule is pretty rough 4 games vs toronto and 4 games vs the sens. our first 2 games vs TO are basically a write off, id give very slim odds of even picking up a point. in the next 6 games if we win 3 of 4 from SENS and get 3 points from TO i'd say we got lucky. 9 points in 8 games. 44 points with 11 games remaining. With covid and injuries this would be a Great record in the next 8 games. mtl 8 games they play EDMx2 CGYx3 TOx1 WPGx1 OTTx1. they need to do pickup 6 points or less for us to realistically have a shot. 53 points with 6 GR. at this point for the rest of the season if mtl went.677 they would finish with 61 points. canucks would have to have to go 7-1-3 or 8-2-1 if mtl went.500 they would finish with 59 points. canucks would have to have to go 6-2-3 or 7-3-1 if Mtl went. 333 they would finish with 57 points. canucks would have to have to go 5-3-3 or 6-4-1 if MTL Some how poops the bed in thier last 6 games and goes and goes 0.166 they would finish with 55 points. canucks would have to have to pickup 11/22 points. in any of these scenarios our last 4 games vs cgy will be like a playoff series we will "likely" need to win at least 3/4 from them other wise we wont have enough points or CGY could pass us.
  13. LOL, OK. im done with your lies, good day.
  14. sorry my bs meter is too full, and i'm having a hard time understanding your "BUT, BUT,BUT,BUT Bettman" said so logic. good day
  15. must be nice living in your reality.
  16. no, sheary got a really good deal, but hes no dutch gretzky.
  17. sheary has 5p in his last 2 games and is shooting 20% this year. hes the next Mcdavid. 11 of his 19 points came against buf, phi, njd sheary and pearson were within 1 point of each other at game 33.
  18. acer's FTW everyone knows walmart sells the best quality laptop. i have a 7year old dell thats still kicking and i bought 2 acers which both died, a few weeks after the 1 year warranty.
  19. i think you are a EP40 hater the way you talk about him. including playoffs ep40 has scored at 0.94ppg in his contract years. including playoffs aho had scored at 0.81ppg in his contract years. sure aho has better puck possession numbers, but other than that ep40 wins on every EV metric. aho 54.2% ep40 52% cf% and faceoffs aho 48% ep40 42% gf% ep40 56.2% aho 54.2% on ice s% ep40 (11.4% first in the league) aho 8.3% dangerous fenwick RC ep40 5.39 aho 1.01 penalties drawn/60 1.5 aho 0.94 pp aho sligthly outedges ep40 by 5.27 4.84 shootout ep40 38.9 % aho 23.2% the best player in carolina is teravainen, for the canucks its ep40.
  20. ok, ignore the facts, misconstrue what bettman said, and definitely don't read the cba or moa. I have never seen anyone overestimate bettmans words and at the same time undervalue the contract which Bettman himself signed. the upper limit has absolutely nothing to do with the escrow account, if the revenue goes above 3.3 billion the upper limit goes up. basically as I understand it the only time a player owes money to the owners when regular season, and playoff gate revenue is in the negative. so basically the equation is the overage/shortage of gate revenue -/+ (tv contracts +pre season games+all star game + concessions+merchandise+advertising none of these can be negative numbers) so basically gate revenue - (travel accommodations + arena costs + taxes + staffing) + (tv contracts +pre season games+all star game + concessions+merchandise+advertising) 2020/21 20% 2021/22 14% if Preliminary HRR for the 2020/21 League Year equals or exceeds $3.3 Billion; 18% if Preliminary HRR for the 2020/21 League Year equals or is below $1.8 Billion; pro-rata rate in between $1.8 Billion and $3.3 Billion (e.g. Escrow Percentage of 16% if HRR is $2.55 Billion) 2022/23 10% 2023/24 6% 2024/25 6% 2025/26 6% each year escrow is calculated independently based upon expected revenue after 2021/2022, and any shortfall is carried over to the subsequent year. so assuming the players lose the max amount for 2020/2021 that would be the players share of HRR - 2525M = 500M or 2525M*20%=500M so for 2021/2022 if the players share breaks even, the escrow shortfall will be at 500M dollars starting the 2022/2023 season. only until the 2023/2024 season or the shortfall is less than 125M (whatever happens first) and all HRR revenue is more than 4.8B will the league distribute the shortfall to the owners. but seriously, escrow shortfall has nothing to with the upper limit
  21. I would say the problem with both these players, is they can't handle long shifts. they don't play on the same line, so that means they are double shifting when they play together. I would also argue that mr myers has gotten the short end of the straw with playing partners. here is hughes, myers numbers this year. notice how bad they are together, im suggesting its because they are double shifting when they play together. and to bring my point home here is how well they played last year together, they were on the same line for several games. and because no one will believe me, tanev and hughes played better when they were not on the ice at the same time.
