  1. and your wrong that i care about the rounding, its more that the news does everything to make it seem worse off than it actually is. people are scared of coronavirus, there is a reason that this page has 1100+ pages. im not ok with scaring people with 15k more deaths
  2. ok then, if the difference between 5 and 15k thousand is huge then it is not nearly the same number. 5% means alot to me and a lot of people. guys that are 5'10 will ha ve a significant disadvantage in online dating comparedly to someone who is 6'. pretending that its ok,is not ok. would you be ok with a 5% paycut because its nearly the same, no you wouldnt. so why are you ok with the news exagerating in thier numbers?
  3. there is a big difference between not having health care and being scared. but the article lumped those two categories together, which is rather misleading.
  4. listen, i really dont care that in your words 285k and 300k is close. when the news always over exagerates numbers they are doing it for a reason.if you had a choice to be 5% less hungry, less scared, less lonely you will always choose that. im not ok with the news always making it seem worse, we deserve better.
  5. the difference between 15 and 15000k people is huge. and look in the post it definitely says 300000. why are you even fighting me on this, i dont like that they rounded up.
  6. so you go so far as to think i want those people dead? why do you even care that i think it's misleading? 15k people in the world matters, and thats why i care.
  7. my head is not in the sand, but try to make me believe that tens of thousands of those people chose not to seek medical help because they were scared.
  8. ok, but that wasnt my point. my point was that it was misleading, which it is. 285k is not nearly 300k. when you buy 2 of the exact same house for 285k and 300k, someone got ripped off. who throws around 15k deaths, like it's nearly the same thing
  9. omg, you speak the truth. all indications point to biden winning, but im afraid not much will change for our stubborn headed neighbours to the south. hopefully if anything we can all get some more peace and quiet if biden wins.
  10. listen, im not oblivious to the fact that getting a infectious disease is very harmful to your health. the few stance's i have on coronavirus is, follow the government recommendations. wash your hands, socially distance and wear a mask, but i dont agree with shutting down the economy again. the first shutdown was to learn about how to live with the virus, we have so lets get on with it.
  11. probablies are not facts. how many people die because they cant afford it, the economy is trending weaker year by year. i think people losing thier medical insurance and job would cause even more deaths and harm. i don't like the way the pandemic is handled in us, but i think keeping the economy open is more important than many may think.
  12. if it comes to living on the streets, and having a bunged up lung? do you know how hard it is to get off the streets? being unemployed is not an option for some. so yes i stand by my statement. many people do not want another shutdown they simply cannot afford it
  13. i also want trump gone, i just dont agree with dirty tactics.
  14. Place of death All Deaths involving COVID-19 (U07.1)1 Deaths from All Causes Deaths involving Pneumonia, with or without COVID-19, excluding Influenza deaths (J12.0–J18.9)2 Deaths involving COVID-19 and Pneumonia, excluding Influenza (U07.1 and J12.0–J18.9)2 All Deaths involving Influenza, with or without COVID-19 or Pneumonia (J09–J11)3 Total 203,043 2,203,637 207,687 92,095 6,722 https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/coronavirus-excess-deaths/2020/10/20/1e1d77c6-12e1-11eb-ba42-ec6a580836ed_story.html https://www.msn.com/en-us/health/medical/the-coronavirus-pandemic-has-caused-nearly-300000-more-deaths-than-expected-in-a-typical-year/ar-BB1ad6lv?li=BBnb7Kz nothing to be paranoid about. both articles state that 300K people died to corona in the title, then 285k in the body and then finally lower itsays 1/3 were caused by other means. so if you can follow along with me, it's misleading at best and most certainly poorly written. now who has to lose and gain from this news, there is an election coming up right?
  15. if you want to live in a world, where you can outright lie and be awarded for it. this article is misleading, if you dont think its being used as a weapon against DT, I cant help you.
  16. and the title? "The coronavirus pandemic has caused nearly 300,000 more deaths than expected in a typical year' also its still misleading 285k cannot be contributed to the pandemic
  17. i dont believe you, i looked at the excess death count, it includes car accidents, heart, diabetes etc....... 203k from the article you provided, nothing showing anything people not seeking medical attention. anything else? Place of death All Deaths involving COVID-19 (U07.1)1 Deaths from All Causes Deaths involving Pneumonia, with or without COVID-19, excluding Influenza deaths (J12.0–J18.9)2 Deaths involving COVID-19 and Pneumonia, excluding Influenza (U07.1 and J12.0–J18.9)2 All Deaths involving Influenza, with or without COVID-19 or Pneumonia (J09–J11)3 Total 203,043 2,203,637 207,687 92,095 6,722
  18. lol, all i have said is that this article is misleading.can you explain how its old?its also certainly not drivel, go ahead and look yourself. https://www.msn.com/en-us/health/medical/the-coronavirus-pandemic-has-caused-nearly-300000-more-deaths-than-expected-in-a-typical-year/ar-BB1ad6lv?li=BBnb7Kz https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid_weekly/index.htm#Comorbidities
  19. glad you came out, anything that holds any value that you would like to add?
  20. im referring to this "The covid-19 pandemic has left about 285,000 more people dead in the United States than would be expected in a typical year" this is the misleading part, some people are not smart enough to understand what this articles is about. also after 30 seconds of fact checking that you provided show that the numbers are wrong. anything else? also the title is even worse. "The coronavirus pandemic has caused nearly 300,000 more deaths than expected in a typical year"
  21. long term is not the same as permanent. some people may be okay with having a bunged up lung for a few years, if its the differnce of working or sitting at home
  22. and to add to my post from above. this "news" is just to bash on DT, which is dirty play when your outright lying and boosting the pandemic death numbers by 80000 deaths
  23. so cdc is reporting deaths at 207,000. much lower than the tracker suggests, this is good news.
  24. hard to believe, when the math doesnt check out. 2/3 of 285000 is 190000. the actual death count is 224000, off by about 15 % . so right away the article is misleading, and doesnt explain what a excess death is. this is crap reporting
  25. what is a excess death? can you elaborate on huge number?
