  1. pretty sure we couldn't afford him at the time. we literally had to move cap out to even start the season
  2. No dude, he said we lost the miller trade. because we didnt win a cup. He argued that Boston won the peverley/ wheeler trade because they won a cup. just such strange arguments. dude has gone full whack-a-doodle
  3. the topic was lost on the first page. I don't think the "rebuilders" will be happy unless we make trades that aquire draft picks. They got it stuck in there head that this is the only way. even though im pretty sure rebuilding teams trade for other players all the time, even when rebuilding. A hockey trade is always good if your certain you are getting more value. Players are assets just as much as draft picks. Historically about a 1/3rd of stanley cup winners are players acquired through trade.
  4. They only got better when they traded for extremely cap efficient players. I would say the real trades was the one for blake coleman, David Savard and Barclay goodrow trades. the fact that Vancouver traded them the first to get Coleman is largely irrelevant to them winning the cup. Vegas was going to trade a player for a 1st to make cap space anyways.
  5. Wait a second, Eureeka! If you cant win a trade unless you win a cup then the solution is simple, we must never make a trade. because we more than likely will not win a cup because of it. It's easy baby, no trades are better.
  6. i think the real winner of that trade was the entire NHL league and american hockey market.
  7. we did not win a cup, so it was a bad trade for us. every trade we ever made was bad according to his logic.
  8. Nothing Hostile about it. I just claim I know more than you. I have won 23 cups and thats what matters.
  9. Hi Guys I am a expert GM wannabe here. my credentials I have won 23 cups in NHL Franchise manager 6, 7, and 8. AV is actually wrong about not trading picks for players, Because i do it all the time in my game and win the cup 23 times. I am expert
  10. Dude never change! I can't stop laughing at your logic. your a funny guy did you know that?
  11. trading a 5th round pick = doom. oh god, i wonder what your reaction is when it starts raining outside. RAIN? I just washed my car 4 weeks ago, and I have to drive with the windows up. This is the worst day ever
  12. or, maybe you over reacted to a trade involving a 5th round pick? It was such a spaz comment. like a teenage kid reacting to there mom grounding them.
  13. Hughes OEL Myers Bear Schenn Stillman Dermott Poolman Burroughs Rathbone Juulsen Brisebois guaranteed, someone will be traded when we start to get healthy again. No worries
  14. that list isnt very big and some of those names are pretty debatable over what impact is. what is that like over a 30 year span? 30*30= 900 picks. say 1/3rd is d picks 300/20 is like 1/15 or like 6%
  15. well 9/10 of those moves were made by the previous GM, so why are you posting this anyway. and it was true, we had tons of injuries and it forced us to make some awkward moves to be cap compliant. injuries to myers, mikheyev, and dermott with them all on IR had us at something with 700k in space, brining in replacements for them meant we would be over the cap. so we were forced to waive and keep waived one of dickinson or poolman to be near cap compliant. another factor was that management didn't want to place any of these players on LTIR so they could return ASAP.
  16. That is gross, but trust me that is not the majority of albertans. that's a select few. quit your hate bro
