Sounds like stories their mom has been making up for years. Probably some truth to volatile situations but kids remember things a little differently, especially when these stories are told and retold until they become truth over the dinner table. These kids also have a lot to gain. It's ultra convenient It's never been brought up before. Just when money became an issue.

Umm, isn't Kuzmenko a LW Thomas? Drance is a doody dummy.

I'm thinking we have to see a real effort and full line-up for more than a game or two like a lot of other teams. Otherwise BB is failing to see what's important. I'm not worried ... yet. Anytime we're missing both QH and OEL in the line-up we might as well fire the game into the sun anyways. Although I actually thought DeKeyser did quite well and will only get better. I also agree with you. It's great to be talking hockey again. It's going to be a long 3 days of waiting for the next one.

Yeah, all the time, this team came out poorly from the beginning of the year right to the last games under BB. It's definitely a big problem ... maybe we go with our full line-up in the last 4 pre-season games to work on that, but I don't see how you can work on that or measure it with less than 50% of your team playing.

Fair enough. It reminds me of every pre-season though. Some people seem to forget the pre-season is for evaluating lesser players as well. The results themselves are unimportant. No teams just ice their top team right from the get go in the name of chemistry, and then tests the AHL players in the regular season. I agree the pace looked slow and Pods was really the lone bright spot. However, Petterson, and Kuz looked smooth in their first ice time together. That is important in itself. Also, Bo, and Garland looked fine. I think what you're seeing is simply none of the players on the cusp made a case for themselves. Arseneau, and DiGuiseppe, actually looked quite good considering, but I didn't expect anything more out of this game myself. Let's see what's going on after 3 days of practice, cuts, and the next game. If people are expecting a finished product they're going to naturally be disappointed.

I don't think they're working on their starts at all at this point though. It's too early. You actually need the whole team together or a good portion in order to do that. It's not even a real measure with non NHL opposition. You can't really work on your start when you only have 2 forward lines and you're missing anything resembling a defence, or your starting goalie. That will come in the last couple games when we have our full squad and we're playing against suitable opposition. I think for some fans we should just put together the full squad and play a junior b team or something so we can stomp them like 40-0. Then people will be satisfied with our start.

I'm not sure what you mean or expect by this statement. They don't need to say anything about the quality of the game itself. What are you looking for in game one of the (split squad) pre-season containing 30% NHL players, with one team dressing only one impact forward, and all AHL goalies, with no reward for winning? A good game. Pre-season games are always crap and this is the one before the first round of cuts. Did people just start watching hockey yesterday?

Get it together Canucks media.

Dunce, lol

There was a clip from yesterday where Miller broke in uncontested and took a shot. A few commented regarding this as proof of speed. It wasn't quick at all though so I can see where the confusion comes in.

That would be a giant mistake. That team has the 7th most wins since 2018 and missed the playoffs mainly due to injuries. Teams just don't quit and disappear like that. I don't know why people here in CDC want to count them out. Seems like a lot of people are going to be mystified and gut wrenched when they're up at the top of the division.
-
Yeah Miller does like to meander around cutting laterally to create his space and chances. This makes sense. Also Pearson played very well with Miller which can hopefully get Bo a more dynamic line mate for him.

Perfect for the fourth line when you can keep the puck over and over simply by laying the body and being a bully. That is fun!

Coach BB: Not making playoffs would be ‘a disaster’ for Canucks

Ha ha, I was just joking! We need D in the worst way but I'm also a big Bo believer. Something has to give. -

Oh c'mon. You act like CDC is going to start a 2000 page thread about it or something. Chill. -
Blowed up real gud Jimmy McBob

Also, it wouldn't be the worst thing if he couldn't break in because Pearson is our worst player but has 25 goals.

No it's good the expectations have changed. I think that's important for this young group. Sometimes you play up to expectations ... even your own. -

It's absolutely the motto the team should have. It should be obvious really after last year and the Miller re-sign. We're passed the "at least we put in a good effort", stage. -
Heck ya. We all know there will be plenty of opportunity if he's playing well.
