  1. Money is distributed evenly and properly throughout the lineup, especially the third and fourth line. Good job anti-Benning. If people want to keep Garland he's gotta be more than a 5mil floater/swamper.
  2. This Dickinson at third line center idea has to stop.
  3. Haha yeah unprotected or not doesn't matter. Pens are making the playoffs. A first is a first even if it's late.
  4. I believe Miller signed in Dallas. He and his toughness, decent speed, and huge slapper would have been ideal as a partner for Hughes.
  5. Yeah I think I'd be over the moon with Marino, 2023 1st, and/or Pickering and a 2nd combo. Makes a lot of sense for them to clear cap but we'd probably have to absorb Zucker somehow. Haha that sounds funny. Edit: maybe they take Pearson or Dickinson back to make cap work.
  6. I sure hope so Higgy. They've been slow in their actions but in retrospect all is not lost yet and I like the limited moves.
  7. Schenn is a great #7 who is adequate as a #6 for us. Dermott is a decent #8. Rathbone is an unknown so we'll see how that turns out. In reality one RD who is the right fit takes the pressure off Myers and could make our D quite a bit better. As of now I'm sure teams are well aware and concentrate on taking advantage of our RD. Just dump it into Myers corner if you want a grade A scoring opportunity.
  8. Yes lol I remember how solid everyone thought we were last year too. Lol at Dickinson third line center. No problem.
  9. Yeah unfortunately I'm starting to realize that. What a mess. I'm getting resigned to losing him for nothing. Life as a Canucks fan lol.
  10. As a whole. Yes absolute rubbish and it shows on the ice. We're completely immobile, can't pass the puck to our forwards, can't clear the puck out of the zone to save our lives, don't defend, don't score, we're slow, old, and non physical. Except for Hughes and a touch of OEL of course. Like the rest of our squad we're a poor hockey team with some amazing players who pull out a game all on their own from time to time. Perhaps BB can do something with a training camp but he had no magic recipes last year. Simply teaching Myers to not handle the puck and just dump it out when in our own third would be a huge start imo. The good news is fixing the d can be done in relatively few moves. We've got 3 of 7 spots covered. The bad news is you need cap space or assets to do it. I firmly believe your defenceman need to be able to play defense.
  11. Yes, it makes zero sense keeping him on the roster just to win some meaningless hockey games and then trade him at the TDL. What is the point of that? Talk about confusing to the fans, the players, and the direction of the team.
  12. Also careful. This is what I refer to as Benning style of thinking. Every year we all get convinced the roster is really great and pencil in players here and there but we leave no cap to address any areas of failure, just hoping upon hope everything works perfectly as planned. It rarely does. Kuzmenko and Mikheyev are interesting but unknown how they will fit in. However, I'll say I'm relatively excited by the signings. Still the wrong move to think this group is capable when our D is an absolute mess now and even worse in the next two years. Colorado's forwards wouldn't win anything with our D core. Unfortunately this is probably what we roll with but you can't win with garbage D in the NHL. Every year we seem to go from no playoffs to contenders in some people's minds only to smacked down by reality. Part of the process should be addressing your team needs in the summer but we never can because we're broke so we are always forced to roll with the same broken team. I agree that signing 4th line type players for the fourth line is encouraging.
  13. This guy must have good underlying numbers. Not a lot of games to judge him on.
  14. Makes 5mil playing on no particular wing and he's tiny. The team can only spend so much money. Also doesn't kill penalties. Mikheyev is faster, 8 inches taller, 30 lbs heavier, and scores more goals. Seems relatively straightforward.
  15. lol Brock is not getting traded ... duh He'll rebound. At worst he's good for 20 and 50.
  16. Seems to be a theme with Clark. Sign of a real gud goalie coach.
  17. So much for the people that didn't think Columbus wanted older players or to try to start winning hockey games.
  18. @N4ZZY Yep, Hoglander definitely pushed down, same as Pearson. This also allows Podkolzin room to grow if they want to groom him on the third line without the pressure to produce. Good move.
  19. I like Marino with OEL and a bigger guy with Hughes. Who knows though.
  20. Same thing as always. Bunch of hater morons on HatersFourm.
