[Rumour] J.T. Miller Trade/Contract Talks
Gawdzukes replied to Podzilla's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Yeah I really really hope this is just posturing. Missing the playoffs again next year and then missing the playoffs and having Miller walk will suck. We'll also have no assets to improve. Ah I still have faith otherwise we're for in for another 8 years of Jim bliss until we really rebuild. -

In regards to the first statement. Obviously never been on CDC before. In regards to the second sounds like they ran out of time. -

But if we trade him before next season for a good return it's the same result right? Really you have no clue what they are doing. You're saying they should have made a move because you're bored even though they technically have 3 months to complete such moves. Okay then. This is why our fanbase on here is obnoxious sometimes. New management that hasn't had the time allotted to make changes from one year to the next and people are jumping all over them. Is this like an engrained reaction? Why not see what happens first and then bitch. And what are you talking about undecided on Boeser, they signed him to a 3 year contract? -

Very well said. Kudos! Pathetic whiny thread title lol. Glad management didn't get impatient like some of the kids. If the right offer isn't there don't make it just for news clips. I swear sometimes we have some of the dumbest fans in the world. Allvin is careful and smart and patient and I would give the benefit of the doubt at this stage. -
Yep, he shouldn't have even been on the radar. We lucked out. Great position to wait for a slipper.

Really? There is 700 or 800 pages on it in the Trade Miller thread. Yeah I get you though. Boring as hell. I'm celebrating with a couple Pilsners though anyway which is a little more exciting.

Disagree he'll be here in 3 years. I hope. Whatever get the best assets we can. That should be the mission right now. Another goal scorer is exactly what we need. We can't be afraid of guys that can shoot the puck because of Virtanen. Lekkerimaki has a high IQ.

If Alf likes him I'm down!

We could have traded Petey or Hughes and had some cool change and high picks but is that good for the Canucks? If no one offered a good deal for Miller it's probably best to wait until FA so another team can sign him to an extension. At least we didn't make a bad move to suit impatient Canuck fans. To be honest we didn't have the assets to do much. We didn't trade away the pick for crap. We got a very high prospect in the system. Yah! I'll take it. Back to the Miller trade thread.

Well we need to get a couple steps better before the window can be opened. That's the challenge and JR said he hopes for 2 years but insinuated it could be longer. The good thing is good goalies can play longer and Demko is young in terms of his career. It's probably closer to 4 than 2 to be honest. I'll go with 3 lol. Actually it all depends on what we do with Miller/Bo. A couple players that can make an impact and a couple of ufa's can change everything. To me it looks like we're playing the slow game though and I'm totally OK with that.

Lol, I'm late as I worked until a couple of hours but I have to disagree with some early angst I've seen regarding this. We don't need to be super active because the fans are impatient. Just make good moves. We picked up a top 10 talent who slipped. Perfect that's what I hoped for. Go for skill as that what will determine if this player is impact or not. We just picked up a top 6 sniper. He's already 172 lbs. and only 17 so he should play at 190, 5"11. It's frustrating to watch other teams trade for top picks but we didn't have the assets to do that. The best thing we could do we did in my opinion.

[Rumour] J.T. Miller Trade/Contract Talks

You would have to ask him, after all it's based on what he wants. I could see it. Young team on the rise and close to home. You I or anyone in the media have no clue what he holds dear to his heart. There is no tweet to post for that. Has anyone considered maybe his wife would like to be closer to family and friends while JT is off playing hockey in other cities all year. -

Just like my bro. Close to the same years. Sorry guys. Changing my selection. I think we need to take a Dman in the first round for once. Minty Bischel Pickering Hopefully one is there although I see a big name like Kemell falling and it would be hard not to pounce..

This is the point where I wonder do some people realize by all these conflicting reports that we the public don't actually get to see the offers or discussions that have been made so being disappointed by the supposed returns or lack there of is pointless. -

lol yeah, just sometimes? The funny thing him is he has to denigrate Bo in an attempt to glorify JT. What is wrong with having multiple leaders on a hockey team? In fact that's how it should be. You have all different types of big personalities on teams with different ages and viewpoints and it helps to have different types of leaders who can relate to everyone. It's a team game but SS doesn't seem to get that. -

Actually no the whole conversation started from the old JT is the perfect leader who doesn't have any faults when clearly he does. You don't even have to be astute at hockey because this one is glaring as hell even to the common observer. It's alright though not everyone is perfect but it's still a point of contention if you are talking about being a leader. This is exactly the type of mythologizing of JT that has been mentioned before. It's something he is not good at which hurts the team and could improve on. Plain and simple. Unless of course turnovers and reckless play are now considered a positive by some. -

Actually Juice was full value at a second. He wasn't worth that much at that point, didn't do much in Ana and we did good to move him. Kesler was completely different in that he choose to F us over, no one else, he forced us into a weak return. Again lucky as he couldn't even honor his contract in the end as he was old and injured. It's actually not that bad and just a fact of life. Players can still play the game mentally but everyone breaks down physiologically. I remember Yzerman commenting once saying you're on top of the world, a huge star who important people and the world look up to, and then one day you're 35 and you can't play anymore because your body won't let you, and you're a nobody with zero job skills or experience.
