  1. @mll I thought Poile was dedicated to a slow long proper rebuild (doesn't want to win) and there is no way he's taking on an older player like Miller?
  2. It's absolutely hilarious to see people's takes on this when mostly no one knows anything about these hires or how they'll fit in with the 2022-23 Canucks. Typical know it alls with their television coaching analysis.
  3. I can hear mll running down the hall screaming something about Guerin's promise to the people.
  4. Yeah that's the hope. Concussions are tricky but I thought he was skating and doing some stuff at the end of the year. Hopefully he is super dedicated to recovery and can make a return to the game (and life) sooner than later. He's actually not all that bad and played fairly well for us. Only problem was we already had six #5/6 guys already. A complete waste of cap space when we had Schenn already playing that role and Burroughs, and Hunt, and slow Hamonic, and zero mobility Chaos Giraffe. Owww, no more it hurts, it hurts.
  5. Yeah I agree. For the past 8 years we've been assembling a team of players with random skillsets like not scoring and hoping the coach can arrange them in a winning formula all while spending to the cap. Then surprise surprise when guys like Dickinson, Poolman, Chiasson, and Petan don't put us over the top we're capped out and unable to make the series of moves necessary to fix the roster. That's why I'm hoping for some real change and roster shake-up with a solid long-term plan in place. I'm so tried of continually going for it and basically knowing before the season starts we're screwed. At least if we knew we were building up to something while not making the playoffs it would be worth it.
  6. Yeah I would throw Woo in. Was one of my favorites but he's losing traction. I don't see a point in extracting every little piece of cap over the next couple years once we free some up. Two years from now is when it's important. Like JR said non playoff teams shouldn't be spending to the Cap.
  7. Uggg, I might start watching professional ring toss for the next 7 years or so.
  8. Ah Jimmy I say no way to paying anything to unload him. Like you said bury him in the minors for 3 if necessary. No way I would pay any more than a 4th.
  9. Yah, I like Brock. That's a decent value and he is a legit PP threat. The contract should be tradeable as he's a perennial 25 goal guy and maybe 30+ in the next 3 years. I was initially hoping for a trade but maybe he'll be a guy to lean on during the next year or two if some trades are made where we step back a bit.
  10. lol sorry I'm just wondering why you keep suggesting we screw over the team ... we get Leafs, Flames, and Oilers trolls on here all the time. Maybe you should have just said that I guess I got confused somewhere along the way. Okay I get your viewpoint. Completely disagree for what should be very obvious reasons so I won't repeat them. For the record I don't believe we're getting any better offers than we do now as the market will be limited at the TDL once again. Maybe I'm just sad I'll have about 3 extra hours to kill everyday when he's traded so I'm posting what I can while the rush lasts.
  11. I wouldn't be overly happy with this trade but let's get something straight. Those are not equal at all. Lundkvist and Rathbone are equal but Chytil is an emerging 22 year old 6'3, 210lb 21st overall pick who just had an amazing cup run performance and is capable of playing center. Dickinson is a piece of gum on the bottom of my shoe that has negative value. (Sorry Dickie) It's easier to understand the point of your posts if you are at least honest.
  12. Yeah exactly. I'm not sure why some people think there should be zero risk with a trade like this. Like we should be getting Aho or Kaprizov back or something. Kakko is a risk I'm 94.386...% willing to take.
  13. Are you even a Canucks fan lol? You may not have noticed (somehow) but we are a team in peril having made the playoffs once in the last 8 years. We had the worst record in team history for the first part of last year as well as the worst PK in the history of the NHL. You also probably didn't notice this but we had a teeny tiny wee iddy bitty coaching/performance situation to start last year. One that had so much promise we had to turf the coach and GM before Christmas and completely change every conceivable part of management from the President on down through every major level. Trust me it was big news while you were off on mission in the space shuttle. The time for games is over. This team clearly needs new direction and needs that change to start taking place as soon as possible. Wasting an entire year in a vain attempt to add an extra 3rd round pick and play the stock market is the very notion of backwards hillbilly thinking. It makes no sense at all to kick this down the road where problems may occur. You also never answered my question about what it does to the rest of the players on the team or what you do if you're in a playoff position at the TDL, or why you even think that offer would increase. If this team wasn't in complete shambles an disarray sure you sometimes see how the season goes with the knowledge you may trade the player but this is clearly not the case. How is it possible you don't understand this?
  14. I've never tried Schneider but purple indica is a personal favorite.
  15. You can stand by it but it's a horrible idea treating a hockey team like the stock market wasting an entire season and other options along the way. All in hopes someone miraculously decides they want JT for much more than they've offered in the last calendar year and despite him being on the block for an entire year. On top of that he could get injured or regress to his mean. And what do you do with him if you're in the playoffs? Trade him and screw the team over. You obviously haven't put much thought into this. Miller must go!
  16. So your solution if we don't get a grade A killer return is to just sit on JT and let him walk for nothing out of angst? I think you're confusing the different proposals with people being realistic. Necas is a pretty darn good player and the reasons you suggest like the coaching style of Brind'amour is the very reason he may do better offensively in a Boudreau system. Personally I'm very intrigued by Necas. Great player, terrific skill and drive who I would hope has more goal scoring in him. Either way you're probably not getting the return you envision. The cap space is almost as important. This website has nothing to do with figuring out things management cannot. We're just excited to get things going. I respect your viewpoint though I just don't think it's very realistic. Also, if you go into the season with JT what does that tell the rest of the team? This year is a write-off we're more concerned with JT than the team and it's all about him. We may trade him, we may not, we don't know what we're doing.
  17. lol you're right, who cares don't plan for anything and just hope for the best, no stress I guess that way I wouldn't want you in charge of my valuables though. Calgary was also first place in their division and a Cup contender but don't let that information get in the way of doing nothing for our team. If management does that they should be fired immediately. I think it was discussed briefly and flushed down the toilet where it belongs.
  18. Actually you miss the playoffs and he walks for free. Absolutely horrific decision making. Rain and hail on a stormy night.
  19. Personally I find Fiala more valuable due to age. We're talking 4 years until he's the same age as JT. However, to the right team JT could easily be more desirable. Fiala is probably a better goal scorer and wicked on the PP but JT is far more rounded and a way better playmaker. I can see it from the Kings pov. He's younger, better to gel with their young players as their old guys are almost done and he helps them on their PP and goal scoring. Their two biggest weaknesses.
  20. Easier said then done, and who would they be? I'd get rid of Miller, Myers, and maybe one of Brock, Garland, Pearson, Dickinson, or Hoglander. 3 guys out probably 4-6 new guys at least. We need a new fourth line and a 3C.
  21. I hear ya I just question if he even makes the NHL. He's more Hal Gill ceiling than Cernak in my opinion. 1100 games though ... if so sign me up too. I just feel he's being rushed up the standings due to size alone. Being big doesn't make someone an NHLer. I feel there are some real good players available. We need to get a player period not a longshot imo. That's for when you have an abundance of picks. We'll be sort of swinging for the fences as is.
  22. I think I'm in the minority here but I'm not sold on Bischel at 15. I don't think he has much if any offensive upside.
