  1. One guy screaming at the top of his lungs to another guy you can barely understand while their partner is lighting up a blunt with Snoop on the pilot light. Good times!
  2. Ummm, he said Miller, not Bo, or Boeser, or Petterson. Nice rant though. You're good at these meandering monstrosities.
  3. You may be right. We'll see. I've watched a lot of NHL seasons and it feels like a flash in the pan to me. 65-70 points is still totally respectable. Perfect storm scenario in my mind. He had tonnes of opportunity and played in every situation conceivable. He also played with zero responsibility and accountability while we played catch up hockey for most of the year. Playing on a more rounded team with better players that keeps the puck out of their own net as a priority will naturally limit those opportunities to put up points. Being healthy while everyone went through injuries and Covid helped too. He was on line #1 all year. And above all it's just not NHL like to suddenly become a superstar at 29. Look at that time on ice he got in comparison to other forwards. Like you said though. We'll see, one team, or another.
  4. Ummm yeah for 6 million a season. He's not doing it all that well currently. I'm sure a couple of younger hard working dmen can replace what he brings for far less money, and complement our more skilled offensive D better at the same time.
  5. This was from when it was only 17 sites. The following websites were used: The Athletic (Wheeler & Pronman), Bleacher Report, Elite Prospects, Sportsnet, MyNHLDraft, Tankathon, Smaht Scouting, Dobber Prospects, McKeen's, The Hockey Writers (Baracchini, Zator, & Forbes), NHL.com (Kimelman & Morreale), Recruit Scouting, and FC Hockey. TSN (Button & McKenzie), The Hockey News, and Recruit Scouting's mock draft, haven't been updated or released yet. I expect several of those will be updated in the coming week or two and I'll update the spreadsheet as they roll in. I assume they're all quite respected and at the forefront.
  6. Lol, our young guys can learn how to give up on plays in OT, smash sticks, swear at teammates, and make donkey passes in their own end all on their own. All joking aside he's a decent motivator and clutch player but it's no where near worth $8m for 7 years to pass it on and then become an anchor in 3 years.
  7. Firkus looks like he might be the best goal scorer out there, although so light at 157 and Snuggerud might end up being a big goal scoring sniper. And yeah Trikozov I get almost nothing except intriguingly skilled and good overall. Mysterious indeed!
  8. Yup. Dhaliwal is a real annoying $&!# disturber. I don't believe anything from him unless it's a direct quote from someone else.
  9. I found this on another site: Here's my updated consolidated first round rankings. I'm up to 25 mock drafts and rankings. Quick recap; I take all of the rankings and mock drafts I can find, each position gets points (#1 = 32, #2 = 31, etc.), then add them all up and put them in order. It's meant to get the consensus and I'm curious to see how closely this lines up to the actual results.1) Wright (799)2) Cooley (758)3) Slafkovsky (742)4) Nemec (720)5) Jiricek (672)6) Kemell (636)7) Savoie (622)8) Gauthier (553)9) Lekkerimaki (538)10) Nazar (504)11) Yurov (477)12) Mintyukov (474)13) Korchinski (464)14) Geekie (433)15) Lambert (430)16) Kasper (423)17) Mateychuk (400)18) McGroarty (302)19) Ohgren (275)20) Kulich (227)21) Snuggerud (197)22) Pickering (196)23) Miroshnichenko (186)24) Bichsel (176)25) Trikozov (163)26) Mesar (151)27) Chesley (150)28) Ostlund (140)29) Howard (139)30) Firkus (129)31) Casey (101)32) Odelius (88)
  10. I agree. In addition if we were to get him for our bottom 6 as @stawns suggests we need to get rid of a couple guys like Pearson, Hoglander, and Dickinson, as @Mustard Tiger mentioned. Way too many middle 6 swiss army types. That money should eventually be earmarked for a top 6 forward or a player who makes a difference, not a 5th 3rd line winger. We only need a couple of those.
  11. Yup, we need the best return for the future of Petey, Quinn, Pods, and Demko, whatever that may be, not more impatience for mediocrity now. It's time to turn the corner on that page.
  12. The only problem I have with Pearson is he's great bang because he kind of rides on Bo's or Miller's wing and racks up a lot of points. He's far less effective on the 3rd line where he belongs. At that point is he better than Hoglander, Podkolzin, Kuzmenko, or even Highmore, who are all cheaper, and younger, with more upside, or even Dickinson who we're stuck with? Unless we get rid of all these other options and dedicate 3LW to Pearson I'd move him. Yes, read any scouting report out there. Like any prospect there is no guarantee but this is literally the only way these players enter the league and almost the only way to get one other than being lucky like Vegas or the Rangers. And that isn't happening for us. I think our management would have to be literally insane to turn that down. https://lastwordonsports.com/hockey/2022/05/10/david-jiricek-scouting-report-2022-nhl-draft/
  13. The only problem with that is that you're almost guaranteeing the forwards that play with them will somewhat suck as reflected by their necessarily minimal salaries. In addition, you end up with one of your 7 million dollar Centers playing minimally or in a defensive role. It would be like signing a $6m LD to play behind Quinn and OEL. Sure looks nice on paper but you gotta sacrifice somewhere else and it'll be significant. However if one of them commits to playing wing then no problem at all, but we really gotta get away from just signing random players with no idea where they're playing like JB was fond of doing. We still need a 3C in that case and the $$ will be tight still but it would be far out if it comes together. Congrats Bishop I'm sure I've heard of you guys as that was right in my music wheelhouse and timeframe. Very cool. Keep on rocking bro!
  14. You gotta cover every angle future and now when you're building a team. Not addressing our most glaring weakness when the solution is dropped in your lap would be a giant mistake regardless of the redo plan for this middling team . They could be contributing this year or next ideally. They say Jiricek is ready to play as early as this year. Either way even if its 2 years who cares if it addresses our #1 RD for the next 10 years.
  15. Actually it's been pretty rational. A couple high hopes of 60 points but a lot of tempered expectations along with happiness that our organization finally landed this type of prospect. Some people think we can trade some players more readily now but that's been on the table anyway.
  16. Why on God's earth would they want Pearson lol. Less than 1% chance this happens. Try Hoglander and maybe you got something there.
  17. 3rd round of interviews starting tomorrow. Decision coming soon after.
  18. I haven't really put much thought into it but after this season he had the Sharks should be able to trade him pretty easily shouldn't they? Maybe even recoup an asset.
