[PGT] Vancouver Canucks at Calgary Flames | Apr. 23, 2022

I beg to differ. Leading a team in the playoffs here in NA is incredible good experience for a rookie. -

@Allvin Fix this team Fix this team Fix this team -
@HighOnHockey Hey forgot to mention Senators are my favorite second team. I bought a bunny hug (hoodie) lol shortly after they got the franchise. It was between them and TB. Good old Canadian boy lol. When I got it home I discovered the Senators name crest was on crooked at about a 30 degree angle. Loved that thing wore it every day for 10 years during the fall. Sadly I don't know what happened to it.

I do like that move from an Ottawa perspective. They are at the place where they can and should start adding some players towards being competitive. They have definitely rebuilt correctly and paid the price. Boeser is at a good age to fit in with those guys too.

Haha, true dat. That's a hell of a haul. they can throw in that Chabot kid maybe. He's not half bad.

[Rumour] J.T. Miller Trade/Contract Talks
Gawdzukes replied to Podzilla's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Hey why have an honest conversation with someone when you can just move the goalposts and win any argument you want in your own mind? -
I would do that in a heartbeat. I don't know how on earth he could be worth that, I would take Bernard-Docker straight up.
-
Yeah we've been a crappy team as a result because we never did that and were unwilling to sacrifice for the future in the past 15-20 years. It's set us back massively. We continually sell out for nothing like people want to do here again. Trading Bure, Bertuzzi, and Linden were massive for this team, as was the Courtnall, Ronning, Momesso, Dirk trade. That's how teams get ahead not by giving out gigantic contracts to older players when you're a mediocre team. It's just common sense but our fanbase doesn't really seem to care about building a winning team and would rather go for it every year regardless of our chances. So tired of the lack of patience. Why can't we just go about it the right way?
-
Exactly the same way people pencil in Miller at $8.5 and then magically pretend they can fix the defence, lack of depth, and leadership by just penciling in UFA, AHL guy, Lockwood, etc.. We've been doing that exact same approach for years now and it ain't working. SEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL I almost want to see us keep Miller just to see how on earth they would fix the team at the same time. I mean I'm not saying it can't work but it would have to be absolute genius to simply carry on Benning's vision and somehow make it pay off now.
-
Completely disagree, a four year window is stupid. this middling team will waste away until we rebuild if we take that approach. We won't see a good playoff team for at least 10 years in that case. I'm sure hoping management isn't that blind. They can't be though so I'm not worried. This team was constructed poorly from the onset 8 years ago and some people want on build on that.

People are greedy. They can't understand you just can't have everything in life. The obvious solution to fixing this team is moving on from Miller but people have a hard time accepting that tough decisions need to be made. Gawd I can't bear to watch this team next year in it's current form. Please Allvin give us hope if nothing else. -
Looking 8 years into Miller's new contract - with numbers (of course)!

Yep, getting pretty tired of these desperate projections where you just assemble a team on a piece of paper and assume everything works out like you want. It rarely does and then we're left with a garbage team up against the cap with zero flexibility and problems trying to move forward. This team just needs to lay off the gas pedal and let the dust settle for a change. -

I've only missed two games this year. I guess unlike you I assume BB wanted to win the game and picked his best option. You seem to think he was busy ordering pizza for after the game or something and put Petan in by mistake, or he mixed up Petan with someone else, or just picked a guy at random. Doesn't really fly with me but this is CDC so -

I remember arguing with a poster early in the season about how bad Green was because we got beat by bottom feeders. Well apparently BB is no better because we still lost a bunch of key games to these lower teams. Newsflash: There is no such thing as a gimme in the NHL. Any team can beat any other team on any given night and it happens all the time. You need to win every game you can. Obviously this team still lacks leadership and has problems buckling down and playing the game the right way at times still. -

Oh the geniuses are out. I can only imagine all the pro coaches here are calling out Boudreau now for the Petan shot. What a bunch of losers. You're not professional coaches ... pretty easy to question after a shoot out miss. Obviously some people are just upset but this is why this site sucks sometimes. People can't handle hockey and start calling out everyone under the sun. Obviously Petan has a lot of skill, which is the only reason he's playing. Well he's also quick. It certainly isn't his toughness, or grit. It's a pretty reasonable choice. Of course BB sees these guys in practice everyday and knows who is good and who his next shooters are. Not the knobs on CDC. Of course we could call Petey and Boeser out too but I doubt we'll see that. CDC at it's best. 2 timing backstabbers. Unlike here you don't coach for good stories like letting Podz shoot, you go with the best option in your mind. We really have no clue what Podz would have done or if he was comfortable at all if called upon. What I do know is that without Bo we don't have many guys good at the stupid shoot out. -

Canucks trying to identify fan who threw hot dog towards Phil Kessel
Gawdzukes replied to nuckin_futz's topic in Canucks Talk
It's so ironic Phil could skate circles around that fat pud. How people started making fun of a guy with 2 Cup rings, multiple 37 goal seasons, 1200 NHL games and over 90 point seasons while not missing more than 12 games in 16 years ... for being lazy I can't imagine. Mind-blowing. -

Still laughing at all the posters up in arms that we gave away superstar A.Gaudette and only got Highmore. Dime a dozen replacement player they said.
