  1. Boxing match would be cool. Kessel would kick his mthfckn ass lol.
  2. Yep. Boeser isn't always consistent but he's a gamer and can win a game on his own. He should be motivated.
  3. Not that it's wrong but this is the exact type of thinking that worries me. It seems to be the strategy we've been following for the last 7 years with Benning. Pushed right up against the cap with no $$ and a big hope a move or two will fill in our deficiencies while all of our players make huge leaps in their play. We'll see in the off-season if management is as committed to a re-tool as first reported. It'll be very interesting if we retain Miller what types of moves will be made. If they go big for next year or if Miller will also be part of a 2 year revamp. I guess if RD are impossible to find maybe moving Hughes over is the best option? We seem to have no problem finding LD possibilities.
  4. @JM_ If were just getting multiple beans absolutely not ... but guys if they're magic! Count me in!
  5. I appreciate you're very close to these teams and are most likely correct. Like I said though these are tweets, not personal emails and a steadfast promise to you or I. You're not part of the management group now because you are on twitter. They do have the right (I thought) to change their own views and situations do change. I thought we were doing something else when we traded for OEL and Garland too. I'm just curious how this works then. They're not allowed to make any moves then until they tweet out their plan and alert the fans first? However, take them off the list then. I had them probably 25th 20th and 10th or something for possible teams. My mistake. I don't really see the problem with inquiring or maybe it's important to you that the number is 28 teams instead of 31 so I look dumb. I don't really think it changes the outlook or context though. Not how I would conduct business if I was Allvin but okay I was wrong. I also wish Davidson was ours because of his patience ... just goes to show you how quickly the market could and does change. They are way out ... but still only 3 years possibly. This is exactly why you can never predict what will happen in the NHL. Everyone is a couple moves away from brilliance ... in theory lol. Thanks for the information. You are a great resource here.
  6. I would do that in a heartbeat. 5th overall is definitely a great asset.
  7. Have you heard of Schnieder? Like he doesn't know that already though he's been in the Miller thread for months. Lundqvist, Jones, Prokop, Clarke, Grans, Durzi, Marino, Dobson, Ceulemans at a glance. Are you guys telling me you don't know how google works? In addition as mentioned if you limit your own scope to one thing only you're not going to get the best return. Finally, I'm not a GM, an assistant, or a scout so I don't have an infinite list of players and their strengths, weaknesses, projections, and availability. I'm quite certain there are RD somewhere someplace somehow in the NHL and using your best trade chip needing a pay raise to gain assets is definitely an option to getting there. Even if you bring in a top forward prospect, which we would 100% need in order to replace Miller and enhance the forward group this would allow you address that position when the opportunity arises, and with the cap space to do so. Certainly the management team is capable of identifying right shooting defenseman, aren't they?
  8. Exactly. Very well stated. I'm not sure why supposed Canuck fans are shutting the doors on their own possibilities for success.
  9. Nashville certainly hasn't 100% committed to their plans for next years team at this point. They're still battling for the last playoff spot this year lol. I'm sure all teams are always evaluating and re-evaluating their direction, and certainly in the offseason a major assessment is done
  10. I'll give you a hint. 18-23 yr old RD's are like the Easter Bunny. He thinks they are a fairly tale and doesn't believe in them.
  11. I'm still doing my due diligence and checking around though. Teams change their minds all the time and do unorthodox things to accomplish their goals. I'd rather go off actual phone calls and perseverance then tweets and such if I'm Patrick Allvin. Maybe there is a three way trade scenario. I don't think good GM's hold their soundbites as gospel or promises and they are free to change their minds. Did Verbeek and Davidson give details about when this plan ends or do they have to get fired before they can move forward, or put out a tweet with new intentions beforehand? I totally get what you're saying though, there are obstacles, like I said some are more likely than others ... obviously. That seems like common sense. It doesn't mean out of the other 31 teams in the NHL no one wants Miller if he's available. I would probably pursue every avenue if it was my paid job. I'm sure Allvin is doing that as compared to just concluding it's hopeless.
  12. Well you're acting obtuse like usual just to destroy a conversation that's completely valid. It's not that hard of a task as I explained. Surely you don't think 18-23 year old RD's are like unicorns and don't exist in the NHL? Literally every team in the NHL would want Miller and anyone of these players could be included in a trade. Some more likely than others. You have absolutely zero vision and show zero understanding of the NHL landscape. As stawns asked is this the first year you've watched hockey because that's what it seems like? Every year we all wake up to eye opening and out of the blue trades by NHL teams. This is a game in the service industry with 32 teams constantly gambling. It's not the stock market where remaining status quo is just fine. You're acting like people are saying we're just supposed to go to the defenceman store and there are shelves and shelves of 23 yr old stars. It's not the case and these trades are not easy or readily available. They take time, patience, careful planning, hard work, and understanding, which you seem very short on. Just because something is challenging doesn't mean you should just give up on it. I would imagine a trade might bring back players no one even though of. Certainly JT Miller at $5.25mil is worth a decent price in the trade market and in the realm of possibility for a younger developing RD. This is what Allvin's job is. Yikes. I can't believe I'm even having this dumb of a conversation.
  13. Do the work yourself lol. 1. Google all NHL rosters a. start with Anaheim b. end with Winnipeg Record all top 4 (+potential) RD, restrict it to 18-23 or whatever you want Those are all the players that teams would possibly trade for Miller. It's quite a simple task really it just takes a bit of effort and patience.
  14. These are the times I wish we could use two emoticons once every day. I wanted to thank you for the reply but muting Friedman deserves a laugh or two as well.
  15. Me too lol. We get a dynamite player in Dach, a #3 overall, a #1 overall, a 2nd round pick, a 19 yr old ~ppg LD, in return for a horrible expiring RFA contract (value 3rd round pick) and a player not likely to play in the NHL. The second rounder alone would be pretty fair compensation. Throw in Chayka and Brossoit and maybe that's doable but totally in our favor. Forget about the other two. This guy should have been getting zapped by lightning with every key stroke.
  16. I was watching another game. I think it was Leafs Sens last night where they suggested it's longer than that. Did anyone else get that info anywhere? I think it's got to be a broken bone (fib) doesn't it? Horvat wouldn't declare he'll be missing a must win playoff entry game two weeks in advance with a bone bruise would he? I seem to remember Terrell Owens playing in the Super bowl after 3 weeks or less I think.
  17. This notion that hockey teams don't, can't, and won't make moves in order to pursue a SC is utterly ridiculous. Also ridiculous that teams wouldn't be looking to add the best player available on the market. These players are limited and in high demand. Every single years teams make surprising moves. After all it's a game with new teams emerging and struggling every year. What a ludicrous concept. Is it a challenge, of course, the same as it is every year but to just assume no hockey teams want good players is getting pretty tired and lame. It almost seems like some people want to get a bad return just so they can be right.
