  1. Sometimes players get labelled as a center coming out of amateur but neither of these guys play center at the NHL level except in an emergency.
  2. Give em both. They're insurance for each other.
  3. Pittsburgh model lol. Miller at $2.65m. I've kind of followed the Cats since their inauguration and I have slight angst at the amount of top prospects and perpetual years of kind of not bad but eventually tank scenarios. This team is seriously good this year from what I've seen. Huberdeau, Ekblad, and Barkov in their prime. You just never know what teams are thinking but shots at the Cup are few and far between.
  4. Florida and Carolina could also feel the time is now. Who knows ... lots of factors at play. If I'm Florida the time is now. Whether they even need an upgrade at forward or his unique skill set I'm unsure. They are on hell of a good team though.
  5. This is the type of deal fans of other teams would be sh!tting all over until he actually plays on their team and then they're jumping out of their seats yelling Miller Time at the top of their lungs screaming I LOVE THIS FREAKING TRADE!. Most people simply don't know just how good this guy is!
  6. Ahhh, yes I see way better now what you're saying. Well said. Agreed Calgary is at a more sensible/desperate time to be making a push. You are correct in that, however NY is a real good team with great young pieces. Depends if they feel close enough this year and next. While they do have the time to wait it also depends how long they want to wait. There is a thing about waiting too long. They could wait, lose Strome, and have nothing left at center. It really depends how close management thinks they are, and what they're missing. Apparently that is a tough veteran who can play physical, center/wing, top 6, score, and be a leader. Guys like Miller do not become available often. As for Boston they could really use him I agree, he especially fits long term with both Krejci, and Bergeron on their last legs. Personally I think we'll see this think really heat up in the coming weeks, if not sooner.
  7. Sure, but who wrote that report, the GM, and what is the offer, who is it underwhelming to? I'm not trying to argue but if you watch hockey every year surely you have seen that teams don't share their plans openly and teams real intentions are usually shown closer to the deadline itself. Just about every year you see teams come out of left field. I personally am not reading much into that report currently. At the very least it's simply a starting point.
  8. Keep in mind the deadline is over a month away. Most years action doesn't heat up until a week or two away. In addition, there may well be offers tabled that we don't know about. In fact we don't actually have any clue what the Rangers offered. It's too early to get a read on what teams are looking at.
  9. The selfish loser percentage is a lot higher.
  10. As I predicted our division is completely wide-open. I always felt strongly LA and Ana, would falter down the stretch. Add that to the fact there are a lot of divisional games. Heck, even Vegas is catchable.
  11. Has he actually been improving his defensive game (area needed) or is he just putting up a bunch of points? I'm genuinely curious. I've seen the points but no actual games.
  12. Probably because they suck at it. Same reason Hoglander doesn't play D or goalie.
  13. Yeah people can be absolute bitches sometimes, and ones that don't understand hockey either. He's a perfectly good back up goalie. He struggled in his last game. Get over it people.
  14. Any chance Pitt could jump in here, do they have anything of value?
  15. Tryamkin is the definition of a gutless coward though. This isn't just a regular weasel, he's actually afraid to challenge himself at hockey ... he won't even lace up the skates against Lucic. Pathetic.
  16. Touche. Kind of seems like no matter what you choose the result could go sideways. As someone who has advocated trading Miller I'm really careful in my posts now. I can't imagine having to conversate with@HKSR for the next 5 years if we get a smallish return or god forbid it doesn't work out. Oh well we're in for a ride. Colorado just blanked Dallas 4-0 and we're in striking distance of LA, Ana, Edm, Dal, Win .... ssssSharks are bye bye mode.
  17. 8yr $8 - $9m contract? You gotta pay this guy if you're the Sharks, no?
  18. Not exactly proud to admit but I was one who wanted to move on from Tanev. Not because I didn't like Tanev but I wanted them to stop miscasting him as a #1 dman (not the guy you want on the ice when you need a goal). He's an excellent shut down player but the play dies on his stick way to often for him to be a top player. I always defended JB but I hoped he would actually go out and address the RD position properly after the Tanev departure. His biggest failure in my mind. I definitely think he should have been traded but unfortunately the Canucks have a bad habit of wasting assets in futile playoff pushes. Tanev and Schenn would have been way better than (never plays) Hamonic and Poolman. I don't know how much Tanev would have brought back anyway at the TDL, maybe a second?
