  1. Just shows you how dumb people can be. It's no wonder it's tough to educate everyone with this level of stupid gong around. Of course this scared little selfish guy is going to attribute a heart attack to the vaccine ... 3 weeks later, instead of you know ... a heart attack. Because he's the first healthy person to ever have a heart attack. Some people are just useless human beings. They get off by being difficult, especially if it's not affecting them personally, and even if it's killing other people. But you know they're doctors and such in their spare time so they know better. I think it actually gives them some sick sort of satisfaction to watch others lives in peril while they waltz around trying to feel superior to others. It's sickening is what it is.
  2. Hang in there buddy. It gets better! And cancel that debit card!
  3. Necklace ... what an old word. Should be neckmetal ... or neckbling
  4. Yeah it's the Canadian way. It's usually too hard to sell a move like this to the fanbase who always want to believe we're "that close". It's moves like this that can really make a team truly competitive though. It's a tough call for sure with how great Miller is playing but I want management to make some solid long-term moves for once as well besides just providing retirement security for fan favorites. There are a lot of moving parts here. It sure is an exciting time to be a Canucks fan. I mean something is going to happen. They didn't bring in new management for nothing. We should see what they're thinking soon.
  5. We're 5 points back of Anaheim for wildcard #2 with the same number of games played. However 3 teams have 4 games in hand. If Dallas wins 3 we'll be 8 back with 33 games to play. We should see soon as don't play until Thursday and the other teams play their make-up games. We can definitely turn up the heat with wins against the Sharks and Ducks.
  6. Far cry from Subban Corrado Clendenning Beiga although who doesn't love the bulldog!
  7. So many ways his value could plummet. He's in an ideal career situation right now. Who knows what the off season or TDL offers. We could add high quality PK'ers to the line-up or even a prolific scorer by next year. Watch Miller's role change to not killing PK's or even less PP time. Watch his stats go down when he's not playing in every situation. Watch him fade in desirability when he's not putting the team on his back every night. That's why I trade him now if the offer is right. I'd say 60% something happens to tank his value if we wait.
  8. I can't believe how long it's taking to properly address the RD. 10+ years now. We need to find a dynamic player there. The Giraffe's, Burroughs, and Schenns are great bottom pairing (even mid pairing) but we need a guy that can communicate hockey wise and make plays with Petterson, Bo, Boeser, Hogs, Pods, etc., and the other defender. We're great at finding depth guys, the problem is having 3 of them in your starting line-up.
  9. Well yeah that's what everyone's been advocating for all along. The only thing I'll add is what do we do if Miller let's management know he's gone for sure. Do we just take the best offer ... if it was Lundkvist, Kravtsov, 2nd I'd probably consider waiting until next year. However what if the best offer is Schnieder, Kravtsov, 1st. Is that enough to get it done?
  10. Well I appreciate that there are some Miller trade defenders here. I mean he is a terrific player and like you say he's almost impossible to replace right now in a trade. I think we're actually on the same team here ... the Canucks I mean. I won't be crushed if we have to sign Miller long-term, he's a pretty good consolation prize. If you want to question my support Sam I've been a die-hard fan since 79 (5 yrs old). I've watched the team go through 3 incredible finals and a lot of losing besides that. I simply want what is the best for the Canucks. They are my the inner fibre of my being. I want to win at all costs before I die so I'm willing to sacrifice a year or two to do it right. What intrigues me the most about this possible trade is the timing. For once we are in a position to make a significant trade for the future. Not one where we hang on to players until the bitter end and wait until there is no value left. We've done that for the 40+ years I've watched and it's gotten us absolutely nowhere. Good teams make difficult strategic moves. That's the only reason I'm advocating for this. We have a chance to make a franchise changing trade ... from a position of power, for real grade A assets... and that's exciting. We haven't really done that before and we've seen other franchises like the Avs do it with mounting success. It is one of those rare situations where we have built in excuses for sucking (Green, Covid, JB) and we don't have satisfy the fanatical Canadian/Vancouver short term desire to play it out. If I have to ride out a couple years for the good of the team I will. To me that seems like commitment. I don't dislike Miller or any of the current players. I just honestly believe this is the best course of action. These Covid seasons haven't been great (still hate having 4 more games played all year - it sucks) so I'm not invested at all like you and loving the season. Even though we're doing better now I'm not convinced we're all that good. I hope you can at least understand some people may still be doubting this season after what's transpired. Having said that it's not at all about trading for bright shinny things but about actually acquiring enough (high quality) assets to do some damage in the future. We're still in tough to make the playoffs this year at any rate. I don't think anyone here really wants to just dump Miller. We all agree he's an awesome player. It's about getting high quality assets in a trade for the future, it's about figuring out Miller's free agency desires, it's about the cap situation, it's about how good the team is, it's about the right mix of players, and certainly those should all be valid questions for a fan. If we keep Miller I hope to all heck we win it all. You may very well be right. I just don't think it would serve us as well with all the factors listed above. I've been down this road many times before. I hope you can understand the reasoning here just as much as I understand yours and respect it. It's a two way street though. **Nice goal Miller**
  11. lol my thoughts exactly he also has it wrong like HKSR Somehow these guys have morphed this thread into defending JT from demanding a supposed trade request??? he may not want to be traded - possibly correct however there are reasons the canucks may trade him they are: he may not re-sign due to “salary demands / taxes / Canadian city / non cup contender Canucks..cont” Pretty simple Talk about missing the point
  12. Okay I'm done with this dishonest bs of yours. This is a quote from last year about demanding a trade! May 22, 2021 Rubbish ... lol I'm out.
  13. Not true, You're making that up. He said I love Vancouver, my family loves Vancouver, I like the hockey team, I think we're a good team. I'm worried about playing here [right now]. No where does he say anything at all about wanting to remain a Canuck after next year. Like I said it's hard to have an honest conversation with you. You're making stuff up to back up a false argument no one is having... For the last time no one has said he is asking for a trade!!! This however is NOT evidence that he's committed to stay here whatsoever. I have no problem saying he may choose to stay here. I accept that as a possibility so I don't have to manufacture evidence to the contrary. Ahem. What remains true is that he does have a lot of reasons to leave as well.
  14. Well duh, that was when the $&!#e hit the fan during Covid and the media was lying saying he wanted out to start rumors and sell adds. C'mon man that's dishonest. Trying to use one quote as evidence for something else. How can one even have a real conversation with nonsense and deception? Be better.
  15. Lol, who cares what Kesler and Luongo said? Those players were both disgruntled and wanted out. Totally different situation than playing out a contract but preferring to move on as a UFA. Sorry, shows you don't know what you're talking about here.
  16. No one is saying that he wants to leave for sure. We're saying there are way more reasons for him to go. That's what we know. The rest of this stuff is just posturing. It means little. Why wouldn't he just say I want to stay here?
  17. But he had every chance in the world to simply say that if he felt that way ... and didn't. Really non-committal in any sense. That's a very good stock reply that doesn't divulge anything.
  18. I must have missed the part where he said he wanted to stay here. What else is he going say? At the very least could have said, "I want to play here for many years and win the Cup here". Not even the standard bs players say to placate the fans. This answer wasn't about re-signing here at all.
  19. And you know for sure (with our luck) he gets hurt or has a crap year and we get a b prospect and a second. That's why it's so enticing. We could actually get a primo return for once to build up the clubs assets.
  20. And really Demko is the best so we're pretty sure he should sign for under $5m per season. Why wouldn't we keep him at that price?
