  1. Yeah I thought that would have been worth a look as well.
  2. I don't disagree that he wasn't put in the best position, along with others, but your defence is paper thin lol. but appropriately partnered, in an appropriate role, with proper systems and puck support he would look "ok" to decent (vs the train wreck/chaos giraffe we got most of the time). So if he gets those simple (not at all) 4 conditions met he might anywhere from "ok" to "not complete crap"? That is a lot of help and what ifs and kind of sounds the same as sucks to me. Maybe I should get the skates out myself? Haha, just joking, I'm more than willing to be wrong here though and I hope I am. Obviously he's not quite as horrid as he is sometimes portrayed. However, he's also shown nothing at all on the ice in the last number of years to suggest even in limited minutes he's as good as some others hope he'll be. In fact just the opposite I think he's closer to giraffe than an even otter myself. Sometimes players have a resurgence when put back in a favorable position. Sometimes they don't and time has just simply passed them by. We shall see what happens.
  3. People say he was good that one year with OEL in Boudreau's first year. Apparently the analytics even said he had a good year I've heard people argue. I couldn't disagree more. All I saw that year, and I watched every game, was pure rubbish. His play made me want to with his putrid giveaways, and the brain dead plays made him an easy target for the opposition.. He was alright the first year and in the bubble. The rest was simply awful imo. I sure hope he plays so little he's not giving away a goal or two a game this year or we're sunk.
  4. Yup, I kind of have to agree. Myers was decent on the third line years ago in Winnipeg playing a depth role and adding hard to pay against size on their roster. A 3 year deal at $4 mil would have been alright. These last years were always going to suck. He's lost some speed but more so mobility and his decision making is bottom of the barrel. He's a liability of out there now in his career and I wouldn't sign him for any price. We'll see about all these playing too many minutes theories but I fear we're going to see more of the same. He just flat out sucks.
  5. No ... we got a logjam of crap as it is lol. Getting under cap will be tricky. Don't get me wrong I wouldn't mind but doesn't appear to be in the plans at all.
  6. But we want to make absolutely sure we don't get too many good dmen ... right?
  7. I think this is a load of baloney created by butthurt fans. The entire team was absolute garbage defensively for 3/4 of the year, and for many years previous to that. Miller was his typical horrible self defensively ... far worse than Bo to start the year. Also looked horribly out of shape. Kuzmenko probably still doesn't know who Demko or Martin are. Boeser was absolutely brutal with zero defensive commitment as usual, and Hoglander, and Podkolzin were rubbish as well. Only our fourth line and Mik showed any defensive chops. Bo played the same game he always played, he just obviously spent time working on goal scoring in the offseason ... which shouldn't be viewed as a negative trait. That's just a ridiculous take by fans here. Criticizing a player because he worked his ass off to help the team score more goals ... as a forward Among this group of forwards who collectively had zero interest in the defensive side of the game Bo was no different than anyone else. Maybe he decided not to try to save everyone else's ass for a change but this narrative doesn't really hold water on a team chock full of lazy back checkers who as a unit were simply abysmal. Alright, got that off my chest. Moving on.
  8. Yeah I hope so too. Man the whole thing with Bo has frankly been very embarrassing as a Canucks fan and it's getting beyond annoying to be honest. What a group of losers who are putting him down and throwing insults around about his commitment to the team, his play, and even calling him greedy. Just a spoiled group of individuals ... if we are fans like that we truly don't deserve anything good for this franchise. Any criticism should be levelled where it belongs. On management for putting together an absolute sh!t team for a decade straight after thrusting the Captaincy on him and giving him nothing but garbage line mates and the worst defence in the league for years running. If I have to hear that stupid "I'll tell you for free", comment one more time I tell you I'am going to freaking lose it. It's so embarrassing. It's like when you're out with a friend who is lipping off an adversary but everything he/she says is cringe worthy and makes you look stupid. You just wish they would shut up. Please stop people, you look like petty 5 year olds with snot running down their face. Sounds like those goofs who recite the Benning ran out of time quotes. Such simpletons. End rant/
  9. Yup, I remember you saying that repeatedly and it seemed like a real good idea.
  10. Yeah I get it but why wouldn't you keep your eyes open and look for an upgrade if an opportunity presents itself? Otherwise just go with what we have. I think there are a number of guys that could fit on the team better than the rubbish Benning collected in his tenure. We have at least one starting position that is completely up for grabs. In my mind that's what teams should be doing every year. Looking to upgrade around the fringes if possible. With such a crap group of defenceman it's something we should have done in the past but JB was locked in to his garbage collection.
  11. No no, we should look for players on waivers that can be a number #6, #7, or #8, and possibly play with QH. Possible upgrades on Myers, Juulsen, Wolanin, and Irwin. Other teams have players in similar situations to Woo. Instead of filling our #7 and #8 spots with a player like Woo, Juulsen, Rathbone (blah) or Johanssen, if they can be upgraded we should be active. I think they could. I'd keep Irwin for sure and probably Wolanin, but at the very least look to fill #8 on a waiver claim. It's really the first time in years we have the luxury of doing so. Cole and Soucy will definitely be regulars imo. Their ability to play both sides allows us to target the best of either RD or LD on the waiver.
  12. We definitely could use some good karma. Would be awesome for the amount of them we through away but we definitely deserve some good luck from other areas we got screwed in. I definitely would like to see a big play for a premiere asset. A first and Lekkerimaki for Jiricek, or Nemec, maybe Schnieder, or that caliber of asset. Would be awesome to have that in place and be able to play Willander on the third line for a year or two while Hronek is playing out his 4 or 5 year deal. Then we would have a natural succession plan in place. It would be hard to part with the first rounder though. We are so short on assets as it is but we need to improve on both fronts.
  13. As far as assets I think the 2024 first and Lekkerimaki should both be on the table for the right player.
  14. I changed my answer to Woo with an extended look but I don't think they should just give him a bunch of rope. So in that sense I hope he gets an extended look because he comes into camp and blows everyone away. I expect Cole to be there though and Irwin or Wolanin to play on the LD with Myers. As far as a Hughes partner I went with a younger prospect but I would hope for somebody better than Peeke like a Schnieder, R. Anderson, or Jiricek, but maybe a guy like Pionk would also be good. As would Nemec, or Grans, or Jokiharju, from Buffalo. Maybe I should change my vote to unproven (but high pedigree) young player. The other alternative is to find a high profile vet with two or three years left and time it with the Willander arrrival.
  15. Close er up. I have spoken! Joking. Should be interesting. I hope Woo has a good camp and I hope we're paying attention to waiver possibilities.
  16. Exactly. It's questionable money for a full season but at ~45 games a year. Blech!
  17. No it's exactly the same. Beaulivier, Myers, and a first for Morrisey/Theodore/Seider. Take your pick.
  18. Yup, another guy that will probably thrive in TB's system.
  19. I was pretty young for Tretiak but damn I remember him shutting the door on the competition a couple times. Maybe I was young and impressionable. Just wait ... was I young once ... I can't remember.
  20. Yeah this is true. I played with a guy when I was younger who played for a year and a half with a a torn ACL (I think it was ACL, could have been MCL). Anyways by the time he got around to getting a surgery date he had messed up his other ligaments somewhat. In addition like you mentioned in your other post he actually changed his body mechanics so much to compensate he was not the same player moving forward and always had mobility issues on that knee, even after it was fixed. Now being this is professional NHL hockey I wouldn't have as much concern about that but it's definitely something to be aware of.
