  1. OMG Gawd, I had a roommate that listened to Alex Jones 24 hours a day replaying his 4/6 hour program over and over. Frack, his name alone is just about enough to make me puke. What a sad bunch of losers. This clown actually bought me an AK47, modified it and urged me to join the Aryan nation. He kept asking me what I thought I was going to do when the Chinese came marching down 17th street for us. Umm yeah I moved pretty quickly after that.
  2. Yeah I quit coming in here for the most part, these mutts have ruined it.
  3. Can someone create a thread dedicated to masks and one on Dr. Bonnie please?
  4. Good read. Yeah he's a good player. It depends on where he ultimately fits in. He's playing well on numerous lines as you suggest but does a team really want him playing top 6? Not in my opinion. Right now BB is really mixing the lines well though so it's working.
  5. Hey Imm, I don't think we're anywhere near the point of last year ... yet. While the situation is definitely alarming I figure if they start allowing full capacity by even Feb 7th it'll be no problem whatsoever. The Olympic break starts Feb 2nd so if we could hypothetically play make-up games on the 8th, 10th, 11th, 13th, 16th 18th, and 20th that would make up 7 of the 12 (7 games currently + 5 more Canada games between now and Feb 1st) postponed games. That would leave 5 games to make up over the rest of the year. They can also cancel the All Star game and push the season end date a week or two, so that's totally doable without the schedule becoming unreasonable. As far as who cancelled the game it simply doesn't matter at all. It was done in conjunction for reasons above our purview and all parties signed off on it. It's cancelled, that's what matters. As you mention Vancouver is just fine in their number of games played, the sit right in the upper middle of the pack. The biggest problem for the NHL will be the Canadian team(s) with the least amount of games played. Right now that will be solely Ottawa with 28. Toronto is next at 32, and Calgary 33. Obviously Ottawa is going to have a tough time .., maybe it's good they are sucking anyway as the NHL can just get their games "done". The Isles should be fine in the long run. I'll include my screen shot of the slot created by the cancelled Olympics.
  6. I'm going to out on a limb and say most people have no clue they just want to see a hockey game. I'm sure the decision was made on what's best for the owners. Who am I to criticize that when we don't know the reason. If it's money than that is acceptable and makes sense.
  7. I agree 100%. I'd rather play at 50% vs whatever else. I'm just going by the upcoming schedule. I think my numbers included upcoming Canadian games this month but I'm unsure on anything anymore. It's going to be near impossible if we don't start making those games up/lift restrictions soon imo. By that I mean early/middle Feb.
  8. No problem Gurn! I've always kind of hated the Cowboys but Prescott and Shultz (no thanks to you Lamb, lol) just won me $900 for winning my fantasy league and I've watched every game this year. They play the Eagles (who are an interesting team) tomorrow night who are also fighting for a playoff spot. I should mention Prescott can be annoying as hell if you're betting on him. Should be a heck of a game. The Cowboys D is pretty awesome to watch.
  9. Actually we're only down 10 games as of Feb 1 I believe, even if we cancel upcoming Canada games. So if we played 8-10 games in 26 days during the Olympic break we can easily catch up. I think that would work anyway. Am I off on that thought?
  10. I think they're waiting for restrictions to be lifted. If they aren't the season is over anyway for Canadian teams. We're still tied for 13th in games played so it makes sense to wait for a full arena since it's just one game. It's always about the bottom line. I agree though, it sucks. Damn would have been nice to see a game. At least there are a couple of NFL games on.
  11. Well that is not a good start. Good luck stawns! @DrJockitch So is it safe to say we're waiting for everyone to get Covid before addressing the next steps?
  12. Weren't you just complaining the other day about how hard these were for you to find? Do you have any idea how big Canada is? At $2 per mask that's $190 million plus distribution for your proposal of 5 masks per person. It was hard enough to get people just to wear a mask in the first place. Good idea though. If you can get it done send me a set as soon as possible. I'm guessing the current masks cost pennies when buying in bulk.
  13. Also, like any drug if there's money to made big pharma will bond together, slightly change a non medical ingredient (if necessary) and jack up the price.
  14. Yes I guess this is the part where I slowly back out of the room. lol. I walked in during the middle and probably don't know what you guys are talking about exactly. Sounds like you're referencing the vaccine clinics and I'm more so about the hospitals main door but it applied to both my hospital stay and two vaccine shots. During my 3 month stay in hospital I would be given a new exact replica mask every time I entered the hospital, without fail, even when I just left to get a coffee and returned 10 min later, or even to join a hospitalized smoker for conversation. Obviously I knew the window people well but I still had to change that mask. Sometimes I would just help the staff inform new patients coming in before and after me that it doesn't matter if your mask is better, new, or made of gold, you gotta put on a new one. I'm sure this policy was arrived at in a boardroom somewhere, for some reason. I literally have close to 200 masks in the spare room worn once or twice for periods of an hour or two or even less. And that's just the ones I stuffed in my pocket in the beginning after switching masks. Same thing at the vaccine clinic, they replaced my blue surgical mask with an exact replica. So I agree you absolutely can't trust people and when you're running these huge serious operations maybe it's smarter and safer to just implement a 100% policy to make sure you're not getting burned somewhere. The thing that bugs me is that we have people being hyper critical here on a hockey website who aren't in the medical field, don't have a medical background, aren't in politics, aren't responsible for infrastructure, procurement of masks, or government policy, and weren't in any of the meetings where these decisions were made, and have no clue why they were made, and they don't work with Dr. Bonnie in any capacity yet they sit here and lay a bunch of grievances at her feet. If you feel that way get off your ass and do something about it, stop ranting and raving on Canucks dot com. It's not the same as Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. And thus ends my very own rant.
  15. That I agree with as it should be common sense. I'm talking about the people walking in the front door/(showing up for work). To be honest though I don't anything about the workers per se. If not to make sure you have a new clean mask what is purpose of replacing with when you walk in the front door, unless they are providing a new clean mask?
  16. Well this is exactly it. Also like I said in another post how do they guarantee you have handled your mask properly, have cleaned it fastidiously, and it's not dripping with Covid? I can only imagine the gross conditions of some of things people tried coming in with in the beginning. It's most likely borne out of some policy that they strive to guarantee no one comes in spreading Covid due to dirty PPE. As time progresses we find out what worked well and what, as in this case, may be somewhat wasted effort. One thing I will say is that it does ensure the basic societal requirement that everyone wears a mask or face covering ... and it also ensures these are brand new and not a source of infection. It seems pretty reasonable to me. I'm not sure if that guy understands giving everyone brand new N95 masks every time they enter the main doors isn't feasible in Canada in any stretch of the imagination. It's probably better than doing nothing. I guess alternatively you could just turn most people away and just N95 the really sick.
  17. Well they obviously do that because they don't trust where you mask has been and the contagions they contain from the outside environment. They can't just give out thousands of N95's like candy everyday. A covid filled N95 mask isn't better than a sterilized face covering. Use your noggin. I was in the hospital for 4 months and went through 5-6 masks a day going outside and moving from area to area. I always wondered why I had to always change masks. It helps if you actually try to understand the situation and work with others instead of just being a huge bitch about everything. Some people just need to cause problems everywhere they go. That appears to be the case here.
  18. I don't know if I interpreted it right but in the interview with his dad I thought he said the 8 month mark is where they start feeling better and that he was symptom free/feeling better but had to wait on blood tests showing certain (normal) results before he could attempt any training or increased activity. https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/brandon-sutters-ongoing-covid-battle-different-uncle-darryls/ So you never know but obviously health is #1 priority.
  19. Sorry about the attacking part, I mistakenly included your post with Gizmo's and he's been attacking Dr. Bonnie for weeks now. I'm not sure you're interpreting this video correctly though. Dr. Bonnie is asked where the current cases are coming from, get togethers, work places, or gyms. She actually laughs at the gym notion .. because they're currently closed they can't be responsible for the cases. Other than that she says they're coming from everywhere else. I can understand you questioning the logic I just don't agree with the condemnation before understanding all the parameters that went into the decision. On top of that they could close any business they want in my eyes and I'll live with it if it gets us through this. Even if it turns out it was unnecessary. Omicron probably spreading everywhere as you say (so who cares) isn't really a solid plan in my view. Either way I'm not sure nitpicking at what is closed or not accomplishes anything unless your goal is just to condemn her.
  20. That definitely sounds like common sense. It's confusing to me as well as to why they're confused.
  21. Awesome SCOD, my father and I will be watching tonight. Should be fun. Thanks for the thread. I'll try to remember to come on line and post my revelations. haha
  22. I don't know the data behind their decisions and neither do you. Is that public info ... I don't know I haven't seen any reference from you? Why don't you question the method or the release of that data regarding decision making instead of attacking the person and then proclaiming you know better? Do you understand they're making these decisions based on how they think they can keep people the safest? Also changing these decisions take time and don't happen overnight. I'm pretty sure this isn't a plot to overthrow gyms, or is that what you're thinking here? It's fine to question these things but I don't think placing yourself above the medical experts and policy makers is right unless you have some solid data yourself, otherwise it's just conjecture. I know it's not exactly the same but I'm still working out every single day at home.
  23. Nice, I saw a 100 for $347. That should do for quite awhile. I'm pretty much staying inside the house for a spell though anyway until we get some more information. -50C with the wind-chill today so that's not too much of a problem. -1C for Tuesday lol.
  24. Probably the booster (unless you drank a 26 yesterday). I felt a little hungover like after my second shot. Each one can react a little different.
  25. Maybe you guys should go into politics and fix this. It sounds like you know everything and got it all sewn up. Why waste your time here? Dr. Gizmo and Dr.Roti ... aw that's got a nice ring to it. I'm not big into politics but isn't Dr. Henry just part of a large medical team making these decisions and merely relaying information? Isn't it really the BC health policy? These guys make it sound like she's some medical dictator making proclamations from a mountain top. I still find it funny/weird that she was turned into some type of celerity in BC. Are other provinces doing this? Maybe that's a problem. It's like the 5 stages of grief. Lots of people are stuck on blame when in reality a lot of qualified people are working their asses off to do the best they can in a horrible situation. The name calling and dissention is very indecent to say the least.
