I keep hearing it's hard to find masks in BC. Are these not acceptable? https://www.amazon.ca/n95-masks/s?k=n95+masks

[Report] Canucks name Jim Rutherford as president & interim GM
Gawdzukes replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Canucks Talk
I got no use for him. Sorry for the bag, lol. -
Well he stated it right in his post. One place has people breathing heavy packed in tight together, the other is a huge, open, properly ventilated space with people practicing social distancing. It's not that hard if you think about it. I for one wouldn't be opposed to closing them either but it's definitely logical. Religious ceremonies and Rec Centers have been the source of significant outbreaks.

That's what all 4th liners get. Zero points sucks. Not the be all end all though. He's a -1 so he really plays low event hockey.

[Report] Canucks name Jim Rutherford as president & interim GM

Good points. However, it appears he is going to do just that. I read an article on my phone of an interview where he is asked about his Gm search and the expectations. He stated directly that he will have the final say on all trades. In this article in the Province he states he is definitely looking at rookie candidates he can mentor for an entry level GM position. He indicated that AQ was fine with that from the beginning. https://theprovince.com/sports/hockey/nhl/vancouver-canucks/canucks-jim-rutherford-ready-to-get-aggressive One thing is I'm not going to pretend I know that this candidate will be better than the next or that I know what exactly their jobs were before they got here. A guy like Alvin for instance. That information isn't really available to us unless you're intimately involved with the Penguins. -

This fan (whatever a sxqhfeh is) has less hockey knowledge than a peanut ... actually he has less hockey knowledge than that little nub that connects the two peanut halves together. It's called an embryo for enquiring minds. -
Maybe I'm thinking of the Dorsett who had 7 goals and 2 assists in 20 games before being forced to retire. For me I think fighting is a pretty much useless endeavor and the league figured that out in the last 10 years. You rarely ever see a fight in the playoffs. So I agree anything is better than some plug who starts some dumb fight every 15 or 20 games because he can't play hockey. Players are too smart now. I would rather have a guy that can skate like the wind, forecheck and hit like a demon with the potential to score timely goals. That's a playoff 4th liner imo. As far as Maroon he always had skill and played up the line-up in Anaheim. MacEwen has zero skill as far as I've seen. He basically just skates around behind the play or goes on solo 1v2 missions. I suppose he has the chance to blossom but I have zero hope for him. I would rather give anyone else a shot. He's already had plenty.

This is a good post. What I am realizing as we discuss this further is that everyone wants a good fourth line but they are far from easy to acquire. When was the last time we had a good fourth line, 2011? Dorsett was good but alas. Too bad but yeah I agree our 4th line offers next to nothing. I hate to say it but Motte isn't really a difference maker on his own either. There are some good 4th lines in the league. There are some pretty blah ones too. We have one of the worst, if not the worst, but that's also a microcosm of spending heavy on forwards and D and the cap is tight. It appears we have some extra cap, close to $3m but I don't think it's available. Taken up next year or something if I recall but correct me if I'm wrong. Some of my comments about Chiasson have just been in regards to Heffy calling him down. I was just pointing out that our new miracle coach BB is still choosing him over the 13th skater and anyone else on the farm. In addition JR could have picked up a waiver guy like Neal or made the simplest of moves to switch him out but he hasn't acted yet either. As for MacEwen he's a terrible hockey player imo, even if he can fight he can't play hockey well. Gadjovich is young and has potential but he's not good enough to play in the NHL this year. I can understand people wanting an upgrade on what we have but imo these guys are simply interchangeable tweeners like Dowling, Chiasson, and Petan. I hope to hell we get someone that's more capable than that if we are serious about an upgrade.
-
Touche, good point.
-
Yeah I don't think JR is the guy to scour the waivers. I don't recall him doing much there in the past but I could be wrong. He'll make a move when he's ready but I guess he indicated he's not going to make any trades himself so that's a month or two away.

Honest question. Have you ever watched or are you familiar with all the 4th line RW's currently playing in the NHL? Do you know: Vinny Lettieri Buddy Robinson Christian Fischer 6'2 214 24yrs 6pts (3,3) Curtis Lazar John Hayden Trevor Lewis Seth Jarvis 5"10 175 19yrs 14 pts (5,9) - Wow, nice luxury MacKenzie Entwistle 6"3 184 22 yrs 5 pts (3,2) Darren Helm Max Domi - $2.9m 15 pts Thomas Harley Sam Gagner 13 pts (4,9) $3.4m Kyle Turris Arthur Kaliyev 6"2 190 20 yrs 11 pts (7,4) Nick Bjugstad 6"6 209 29 yrs 5 pts (4,1) This is half the league. It's a lot of work so I stopped for now but I will complete later. What I've discovered is there are definitely better players to be had but they are either ELC cost controlled youngsters or quite expensive. Too expensive for us. Also 4th line LW/RW is kind of the spot for the worst players in the league. Now Heffy I'm trying to see things your way so try to play nice, I agree that Chiasson is definitely able to be upgraded but can you please actually list a couple players we could target instead of just getting mad at Green and Chiasson? I'm curious as to the type of player you think fits there. I think we'd have to keep it at $2 or under but I'm willing to listen to any ideas you have. I also noticed Sheldon Rempal is skating with the team today. He's doing pretty awesome with the Abby Nucks. RW 22gp 8g 12a 20pts. He's 26 but really light 5"10 165 ... yowzer lol. I'd like to see him get a shot.

Ahhhhhhh f#*k -
Nice, I figured those guys might be on the list. Unfortunately their salary is $2.5 $1.1 $3.5 = $7.1 Chiasson Lammikko Motte is $1.2 $.725 $1.225 = $3.5 Any ideas for cheaper wingers ... especially a Chiasson replacement for arguments sake?

Lol, Hi Thatcher, Ian Macintyre here. Just wondering how exhausted you are from answering completely stupid and boring questions from the media? -
Yeah. Obviously a guy with 592 NHL games who has scored 22 goals in a year and eclipsed 10 goals 5 different times is better than beyond useless. These guys credibility and objectivity is absolutely shot on this topic. I don't even pay them much attention anymore except when they pop in to spout this nonsense. Lol, it's funny to see them contradict themselves so much now. I could see it coming a month away. It must just drive these guys crazy seeing Chiasson every game. Hilarious!

Lol, I'm pretty good outside of a bubble actually. Does Thatcher make his own bed? -
And why does BB keep playing him if this is a Green problem?
-
Yes, all around the league I agree. Just curious who do you consider the better 4th line players in the league and who would you realistically replace him with? Follow up question. If this so obvious why doesn't BB notice this as well?
-
That's how I see it too. Why rotate players through hoping for something and disrupt the team when you can just target exactly what you're looking for? It'll be exciting to see if and when JR makes a trade and what it will be.
-
Yeah neither are speedsters but Chiasson has a little more zip. Both are heavier players with good height. Neal does have more pedigree, skill and a great shot but he appears to be losing it quickly. I'm pretty confused as to the slack Chiasson gets here. He hasn't been a problem and doesn't make a lot of glaring mistakes. He's played pretty well lately, BB even put him on the first line. I think people get carried away hating on Green and conflagrate that with Chiasson somehow. I always thought he played quite well against us in the past. Expectations are sky high here for 4th liners.
-
Yeah that's true although 2 of Neal's 4 points were on the PP too. I wouldn't have been opposed to giving him a look over Chiasson but it looks like he cleared.

Take care brother. Sorry to hear you got hit pretty hard. You're probably still twice as healthy as I am. Hope you are up and running soon.
