[PGT] Vancouver Canucks at Los Angeles Kings | Dec. 30, 2021

Yeah I get it. Great word, snarl lol. Perfect. Motte is great but he's not exactly pounding people into the boards when he hits. Lammikko tries all around but he's not a bruiser by any stretch. Chiasson plays kind of heavy but slow. Nothing bone crushing. I'm pretty sure JR stated he wants to get bigger so I totally expect that type of player or two to be added via trade. I don't think it will come with scoring though. -

Yeah it's risky. There is the three week Olympic break, and the All Star game too. But yeah unless this gets better quick they might just need to go with no revenue in the 7 Canadian cities. -

Agreed. Oh I forgot to add. Maybe he's in love. -

A hard no on Juulsen, or Woo, you can't just expect a couple of average AHL dmen to be any better than the guys that have played the position their whole life. They are not going to provide any scoring whatsoever. They'll most likely get eaten alive. Neither is a speedster. I'm definitely in for giving Lockwood a try and DiGuiseppe. Unfortunately I don't think we will find any scoring for the fourth line. That's hard to find for no money or assets, which we don't have to burn. Although to be honest I wouldn't be against bringing a top notch 4th line guy if the price is right. Also a hard pass on Bailey. He just doesn't get it. Too bad about Sutter, he could really be key there on this team if healthy. -

Yes well said. I appreciate that you can see it from the players side and give them the benefit of the doubt. It's nothing new to see players struggle for an entire year due to a new environment, new team, role on the team, or injury of course. There is definitely something to be said for the mental aspect. Maybe for Petey he's caught in transition to becoming the adult version of himself. I can only imagine what I'd be up to if my salary went up 700% overnight. That could make it tough to concentrate on the job at hand. I don't know but he could be anxious about buying a house, laying down roots, being away from family and simply taking some time to figure it and himself out. It can't be easy in this Covid climate either. It wouldn't surprise me to see him just figure it out at some point. Maybe this is him laying the groundwork to becoming elite. Now look, you got me being all optimistic. -
I like not having to shave if I feel lazy. The mask helps. I imagine some people will wear them far into the future even if the threat is lessened. I agree with the basic premise of what you're saying although I think it will take 2-3 months of capturing data and seeing the results before any actions can be approved. Maybe more but I am hoping this is the light at the end of the tunnel.

Yeah Highmore played really well and got a couple real good looks on net too, which doesn't really happen much. He does add a lot of hustle with purpose although with his complete lack of production it makes him suited for fourth line duties. Maybe he's the guy that finally relegates Chiasson. That would appease a number of folks here. We'll see. I expect some moves will be made by the end of the month. -

People would be wise to remember hockey is not linear game straight forward game. Sometimes when you lose there is no one to blame except the hockey Gods. A team can be prepared and at the top of their game and just run into a tough goalie, a team that has a better game plan, or just plain bad bounces. Also it's not like NFL where they play once a week and everyone is juiced, fully prepared and 100% on the same page. When you play 82 games a year and you're on the road, or dealing with personal issues some players are just not as focused as they could be. It happens to every team. That's just reality in an 82 game schedule. Sometimes you show up thinking you're ready and it just doesn't go as planned. You can't win them all. -

I think his value is still reasonably high. Not what is was before but he's still a prolific player who is 23 years old and has an incredibly bright future. He's got a pretty decent contract in this situation. It's a little high for what he's producing now but it only has two years left so the risk is limited ... but it's a great deal if he returns to a ppg type player. I think he definitely lands a top player in return. Noah Dobson+ or maybe an Ekbald or Parayko although those last 2 teams aren't desperately looking for a trade. Maybe something like Josh Anderson, Chairot and a first and a third, but I'm just spitballing there. For the record I don't really want to see him traded but I think we're going to see some big moves at some point. It really depends if JR wants to retool a bit or if he thinks we're a couple moves away. -

Yup, my bad sorry. I've always strived to give everyone's viewpoint a fair shake. This the first time I'm putting someone on my ban list. -

Some people just love to complain about everything and this guy is one of our best. Halak has been a very good goalie in this league. It's like some people don't understand that backups and fourth liners aren't as good as the better players in the league, and that every team has them. There is no need for finger pointing and calling people idiots. Halak played extremely well last night and was the only reason we got a point. RU Serious is a serious troll and has been from day one. Leave it to him to pop in after an 8 game regulation unbeaten streak and criticize the goalie ... and the old GM for the following statline. This guy is an absolute joke. Don't pay attention to anything he says. -

Yeah, it was nice but not spectacular. There has to be 50-100 guys that can pull that off in an uncontested shoot out. Maybe grasping a little to hard for a positive there. J.I.H.A.N is obviously looking at the glass half full and nothing wrong with that. However I am concerned that he has been as poor as he has been. He does look to be missing something/not the same player he was before. Hopefully like a lot of times this is a reflection of being hurt half of the year in combination with being a young player. In the past when he wasn't scoring you noticed him every shift making an exciting positive play. Now I mostly notice him pulling a Miller and giving up the puck in horrible areas. Unfortunately he is playing with little drive and next to no emotion. His defence is nowhere near what is was when he first stepped on the ice. Holding out for a contract, skipping training camp, and then playing like this is very concerning I'm not going to lie. The only bright spot is he's made a couple nice plays lately and hopefully he can regain some form. If his play persists he's probably a good trade chip in the offseason to keep Miller or Boeser. Maybe we trade him for Giroux at the deadline since we'll be in first. I'm joking ... I think. -

These people don't know sh!t about hockey that's why. They can't understand why we didn't sign Draisaitl instead ... he's so much better. Dumb Benning. -
What a collection of tools. It's despicable really. Definitely not the people you want in your corner when the going gets tough. These are the guys that push you over the edge of the boat when you're stranded at sea. Cruel, self absorbed, and pig-headed. A waste of skin imo.
-
It's ******* stupid to be kind to people who spit in your face again and again.
-
Yeah I read a couple of articles on this stuff too. It's like a real cool idea theoretically that just doesn't work in reality but they're still trying to push it through anyway. The fact that you need to take it so very early makes it unrealistic as well. It sounds more like the morning before pill, with about as much effectiveness.

Okay thanks. I was just curious if the rules are different there as I'm living in Sask taking care of my dad where we don't seem to have any problems getting masks or people being protected/covered. As far as I know anyway. Pretty much 100% compliance. I can't recall seeing an unmasked person in at least two months. I also get offered masks everywhere I go even though I have lots already.

Merck’s announcement comes on the heels of the federal government’s recent agreement with the company to purchase 500,000 courses of its molnupiravir treatment, with an option to add 500,000 more pending approval. It looks like that number is for worldwide distribution while we have guaranteed an order if deemed safe by Health Canada. The way it looks I can't see them approving it as over the counter but more so in a controlled hospital setting (less chance of escaping variants) ... perhaps for those who refuse the vaccine. It doesn't sound horribly safe or effective though. I agree I don't want to see this stuff out there before the Phizer product.
-
Actually it's only being manufactured by a company in Canada is not for use here. It's under review by Health Canada. I don't expect they would authorize it for widespread use.
-
Absolutely nada. I agree it's insulting to compare those things.
-
Absolutely correct. Nobody is denying anyone the ability to buy food. That's an outright lie. Businesses have the right to make their stores a safe place to shop for everybody. A small portion of people need to be difficult. It's their way.

Ah Heffy. I know you can't see it now but the team might not be ruined forever because we have Chiasson instead of Gadjovich. I'm really hoping we get rid of him so these dumb arguments can subside. By this time next year you might only be complaining about him every third post. I look forward to calling the Leafs AHL garbage instead of ourselves. Also Petan has played 136 games to Gadj's 17 so once again you're not really making a useful point. Other coaches have obviously saw something there as well so you're just being willfully argumentative and brash. You know 4th line fringe players are a crap shoot sometimes/most times actually. They come and go. It can come down to any number of microscopic points as to why you take a chance on one over another. You're making a mountain out of a molehill. If Gadjovich had 5 goals and 6 assists this would be a valid argument but he's simply not supporting your argument in any way shape or form. Edit: We also have a very deep, young forward group. Our needs were far different from San Jose's hack roster. We were looking for guys that could PK and provide some veteran leadership with Sutter and Motte out.

Sorry for my ignorance here I do wear a mask all the time myself but aren't simple face coverings also acceptable? I seem to recall seeing that on all the business signage at the front doors where I live.
