  1. My point was is when you first start reffing you think it will be a nice enjoyable fun experience. Sometimes it's incredibly nerve racking and you wish you were anywhere but there. Simply saying it is a tough job. I would love to see you out there Deb because every single ref sucks for some reason. You could show everyone how it's done.
  2. Oh yeah, you get sticks clashing, 10 skaters whipping around, people yelling, bodies flying, and then all of the sudden you gotta make a split second call, all the time being required to keep up with these top notch players for 60 minutes. When I first started reffing I would get so involved in the game itself I would forget I was in charge and had to guess as to who tipped it out. It also bugs me when I see the extreme criticism here. It's not as if they just hired random people. Like you say these are the best refs in the world like it or not.
  3. Reffing competitive hockey is incredibly hard. Not very fun sometimes. Looks super easy on tv and with replay but wait until you're in the middle of that chaos.
  4. The Vancouver Canucks are proud to present one more player with a milestone in their career. From the other team.
  5. I remember arguing that we'd better be careful or we'll catch the blues. A couple people told me they were up by 9 and it was not a worry. Well ... I'm kind of worried. This is a must lose game!
  6. Nice, Garrett, wrong again. He always just sides with the Canucks lol. Well that might be interference acdcording to the rules ... but that's totally incidental. Nice, nice, nice lol! Haha Hughes learning from Miller with that play.
  7. Nope, I'm always hopeful he'll do something outrageously stoopid and we get scored on. Seriously though this Blues team looks as bad as us.
  8. He's a big piece of the or one of the biggest trades the Canucks have made in decades. He's been struggling in the AHL, our season is lost, and we have the ability to bring him up and hopefully give him some coaching, some confidence, and a look. Obviuosly.
  9. I've watched 5 games. Bo is doing very well, does what he does, and they are winning games as a result. Really he was just what they needed. Shame about Barzal but they're responding well.
  10. Not to mention in this climate it is super hard to make trades of any type so teams that are not on top should be taking advantage of what little avenues are available like trading UFA's for draft picks. Not throwing them away for half ass reclamation projects to replace players we already have in spades.
  11. CDC would be up in arms if we traded a first round pick for a #6/#7 dman. He is valuable to us because we lack any quality in the d side.
  12. Haha, okay then we are done for tonight my friend. I must retire. I will leave this here just in jest because a funny thought popped into my head. I pictured a guy in a suit running around a grand theft auto level with Stawns stenciled over his head. He then proceeds to club other GM's over the head stealing their little hockey card icons like Mercer, Holtz, Lohrei, Lafrenier, Wright, Schnieder, Beniers, Nemec, and then drops off a Schenn, Myers, or Boeser card. Cheers, Just joking around. Have a good night.
  13. Well first of all this is about acquiring a pick for Schenn, where you are saying they are useless so you would rather have nothing. Second, we're not getting any 21-23 year old impact players for Schenn. What you get is most likely rubbish in that case.. Third, the team should be focused and capable on all fronts, including draft picks so we have a prospect pool in 5 years. Not to mention players that make it can certainly make an impact in less than 5 years anyway. In fact if you have a steady stream of picks that shouldn't even matter. Teams on the cusp like TB, Toronto, Boston, Dallas, and Colorado, should be making the types of moves you describe, not the team fighting with Arizona, San Jose, and Chicago for 4th last place. Not sure where you're getting this idea that we need to be super impatient and fix this overnight. That's why we're here now.
  14. But not to use for yourself though right. I ask again, why would any GM trade for picks then? Doesn't seem to add up.
  15. Didn't answer the question but yeah sure all teams trade picks ... I just didn't know that all picks were useless. Why would any GM trade for picks then?
