  1. So Montreal and SJ are part of the inner circle I guess? Crosby in the playoffs outweighs the sport itself. Okay. I honestly can't understand why you would bother in any capacity with the NHL if you think the conspiracy goes as far as 3 way team trades to benefit one team. That's like buying 50/50 tickets when you know the4 draw is rigged. i wouldn't call it a smart move.
  2. They couldn't even give him away last year. Well Grier is an idiot then if he passed up better offers. I don't know why he would do that though. I guess it's all part of the doing favors thing to make other teams better. What a funny sport. In all seriousness I think any predictions on his worth subsided greatly as time went on. Obviously.
  3. Aha, OK. I am really interested to see what Pitt gives back to both Montreal and SJ in the future then. Obviously you have little practical experience of the real business world. Sure, owners do background deals to enhance their businesses like interests. They don't do their direct competitors lopsided favors for kicks though. Hockey is also different then most businesses in that success is measured in visible assets. As in we all saw the the trade. This isn't some behind the scenes deal. So what about the rest of the Metropolitan division. They're on board with this too because it's good for hockey somehow. How is it good for hockey anyway? I mean if you think they NHL is fake why are you even here? I stopped watching WWF wrestling when I was 10 because it wasn't real.
  4. I'm no Dubas fan and I think he lacks the actual hockey experience for the role but nothing at all wrong with this trade. This team is in complete win now mode and the first and second picks they traded are inconsequential. Much better than we were at with the Hronek trade, and way better than when the Sedins were here. It's a good move for them. So very different from where we were back then.
  5. In your opinion right? I find these comments hard to understand. Don't you think he would have got more if he could? You don't seem to fully acknowledge what other posters have mentioned and why they had such a hard time moving him.
  6. OK then. Well are Montreal and San Jose then are the only teams the league with fake owners that everyone else is ok with the league making trades for them, or are there others. Conspiracy theory much. That's hilarious.
  7. Well don't different people theoretically own teams and they all have their own interests at heart? Your post where you say "NHLs favorite teams always manage to free up cap space when they need to" suggests the league is colluding to give the Pens what they need via trade at the expense of other teams. What a ludicrous idea. What special treatment have those teams been given?
  8. Not really. What's more surprising is how poor we are at doing it. Very creative in this trade though with Montreal basically coming in to take some salary on for a second rounder, some defensive familiar veteran leadership, and a backup goalie. San Jose gets 3 veteran players to help during the rebuild and their salary comes off the books 2 years sooner than Karlsson. Not much retention either. They also get a first rounder. I wish we were better at this type of stuff.
  9. Exactly. It's like having $6 mil in the bank that we can hopefully invest wisely next summer.
  10. Better yet. 40 shutouts for Demko and 60 for Beau. See I didn't even double Beau's # the second time. Seems reasonable. @Gurn You guys ... look who I responding to.
  11. Says he knows it might be wrong but keeps doing it anyway. Very weak character. Seems to sum up Junior to a T.
  12. Settle down Alf. Sure would be nice to see Beau get 35 goals somehow.
