  1. That absolute clownshow of a fiasco with the whole rachel doerrie thing when she literally got hired then fired in a matter of weeks was also probably a bad sign from the beginning as well. It's almost like this organization can't avoid being an embarrassment for some reason like it just comes naturally.
  2. Funny how we had a two man dictatorship running the show who were both justifiably canned because they had no idea what the hell they were doing. Then to "add structure" and bringing in a "bright, innovative mind" like Rutherford (lmfao), we hired him as the President, a new GM and like 50 other AGMs to boot. "StRuCtUrE" right? Just goes to show it doesn't matter how many members are added to a so called team of hockey executives. Tools are tools.
  3. Bruce is all class. He knew for a while that management didn't like him after the constant criticism from JR and even this past week when JR embarrassed him even more by blatantly admitting "looking for another coach for months" but "Bruce is still our coach". He was aware that it was a matter of time he was going to be canned and he could've very easily taken the opportunity to take more shots at management too for the p*ss poor job they did when answering to the media day in and day out. I mean why not? He's 68, likely his last head coaching gig, management has been nothing but absolutely disrespectful, gonna get fired anyways, so might as well call JR and his cronies out for their terrible work. I'd be p*ssed they're using me as a scapegoat. The only time he slightly hit back was when he said "he tries the best with what he has" which isn't really even much of a shot, just answering the questions the media kept hounding him with. He maintained professionalism and his composure all the way through. Thank you Bruce. You deserved to be treated better than that.
  4. "Edmonton winning" and "nice" is something i thought id never see on this message forums. Never say never i guess.
  5. let's just wait and see. all this bo speculation has been a rollercoaster.
  6. hmm out of curiosity out of the captains in the league today who would you say is the ideal mould? One that comes to mind for me is Landeskog who seems like a tough captain that speaks up and defends his teammates for example.
  7. It would definitely be a whole lot better than that embarrassing Harry and Meghan special that they made of two rich, spoiled royals b*tching about their privileged lives.
  8. Sometimes things just get so ridiculous to the point that you just end up laughing. If management has any ounce of shame, I hope they're embarrassed that the players themselves are pretty much calling them a joke. I never thought we'd get near the Keenan days again of pure dysfunction and bizarreness but yikes dejavu. The entire league is laughing at this organization and their management team. Screw a sh$show. This is an entire diarrhea.
  9. Fair. I'd love a leader with the mold of Sakic or Yzerman but unfortunately we don't easily have that at our disposal.
  10. honestly i couldn't care less if we have a "quiet" leader or a "vocal" leader as long as we win.
  11. Do all captains need to be vocal? Hank and Danny weren't super vocal guys either but they lead by example. Markus Naslund wasn't a vocal guy but he was our captain. heck, Bo isn't even really that vocal either. Don't think it needs to be a necessity.
  12. another GENIUS move by francesco to get on his hands and knees for him to come out of retirement. lol. rutherford can take his three rings and buzz off.
  13. Bruce Boudreau's presser was tough to watch. You could tell he just purely loves the game with the way he was crying and last year he brought that energy and positivity with him that actually brought us some hope. He's as good as gone but thankful for his efforts. He could only do with the pieces that he had access to. Management failed big time in the offseason and these clowns luckily have that scapegoat they could use with the coach. Absolutely embarrassing the way JR has handled this entire thing. The entire league is laughing at us. No professionalism whatsoever. Maybe he's become senile or something. It's sad that Boudreau will be gone but we'll still be stuck with a bunch of useless tools and nepotism hires. This organization is a mess.
  14. The fact that this franchise is associated with constant pain and disappointment since (like you said) from the 70-80's for its fans is really something. This fanbase has been through generations of disappointment and moments of "almost but not quite". Obviously nothing is owed to a certain team or its fanbase but good lord, could you imagine the relief and breathe of fresh air if/when we do win our first cup? Pure euphoria. I just hope that day comes in my lifetime.
  15. Not sure why as the President of the team, you wouldn't know your own coach's terms. Yeah he didn't directly make the hire, but at the very least you'd think he'd be up to date with that especially when it came to the offseason and he admitted that he was unaware.
  16. not a fan of the all-black collar... wish they kept the original pattern
  17. I'm skeptical that ownership has had no interference like he claims. Of course he's not going to tell the media that ownership has a preference of what they want to do. We saw it with multiple regimes already. Gillis also suggested it but was denied it by Francesco. retool, retool, retool, retool, same **** all over again.
