  1. why? just why? if you for some reason want to keep icing the best line-up why did you trade Bo? you traded your best scorer and captain, why can't you just commit to a rebuild? you're not making the playoffs, changing the goalies isn't going to do anything for that atrocious defence. can we restart our gm/president search again? been a little over a year and im sick of these clowns.
  2. Never said inclusion and making society equal wasn't a good thing Alf. Not sure where you got that from at all by my original comment because it wasn't even close to what I even said. Censorship and cancelling people for their own opinions are a problem. When you have basic freedoms taken away, yeah, that contributes to the downfall of America.
  3. cancel culture and no accountability. millennials are a spoiled generation and this is coming from one. gen z the same. You either agree with certain people, or if you have other opinions, you are a "neo-nazi" type thing. There is no rationale behind opinionated discussions with younger generations anymore. I mean, this is a generation that made people famous for doing stupid 15 second dances in their rooms so what's the surprise I guess.
  4. Didn't news come out not too long ago that lots of people unsubscribed over the past year? And now they decide to add more oil to the fire? lol. It's like they want people to cancel Netflix. morons
  5. Good on him. We get assets back in exchange for the cost of that contract, and he pretty much cashes in/fleeces another organization. A Win for the Canucks. A Win for Bo.
  6. I do agree that Bo's defensive game is pretty overrated but the +/- stats are also a product of your linemates/team too. If we're comparing Miller to Horvat in that department, let's not forget that Bo played on some pretty horrendous canucks lineups in the past near decade that were finishing bottom 5... while Miller played on NYR teams that were good enough to make the playoffs every year he was there and then to an even more stacked Tampa Bay. Bo's a good face-off guy but yeah he was no means a defensive specialist. No ROR or Bergeron, not even comparable to Kesler.
  7. In the 10th Anniversary year (2013) of Gillis trading Schneider for the 9th OA in Bo Horvat with Lou Lamoriello, Lou Lamoriello trades back with the Canucks for Bo Horvat in 2023. I guess it was meant to be lol.
  8. thanks for the update. i'm glad it wasn't as ugly as that but i'm wondering what he actually did say now.
  9. There has been speculation going on around a scrum that ensued last night between the ducks and the coyotes. You could see Stecher all of a sudden get infuriated after Zegras says something to him. Going back to even his college days and his time here in Vancouver, I don't think I've ever seen Stecher react this way and get so visibly angry at a player, trying to take his head off. Lots of people are speculating that Zegras said something about Stecher's late father who passed away in 2020. He points at the sky and if you read lips, you could sort of see that he says something along the lines of "your dad is watching". Nothing's been confirmed, but if this is true I think NHL should look into this for more repercussions. Absolutely unacceptable and quite despicable to be honest. Again, nothing is confirmed as to this specific incident but there are large suspicions and for good reason. Make me wonder though, does trash-talk cross the line a lot of the time in hockey? In past instances, we've heard of players poke fun at a player's past domestic issues or issues related to substance abuse, but apparently family (family deaths) is on the table too? Ironic coming from a league who act like they celebrate inclusion such as pride night and promote mental health initiatives to have players literally mocking eachother's dead family members on the ice. I hope the league takes a look at this and re-evaluate repercussions for what's also being said out on the ice because this is pretty shameful and ridiculous.
  10. yep. that's the fine line between showing that you care and being a toxic teammate.
  11. lol. People here are acting like we lost Pettersson on waivers, not Pederson. As much as he's worked hard whenever he's been in the lineup, he's a pretty replaceable player. There's a reason why Carolina and San Jose passed on him. Good luck to him. On to the next.
  12. I've been noticing that too. If Miller is too much of a project, I think that also serves as a big distraction for the team. Not only do coaches need to try to find a way win as a team but on top of that, you need to do counselling sessions with a misbehaving player who throws constant temper tantrums? Then again as people here like to say, "hE's ShOwInG eMoTiOn" right? lmao.
  13. Media hasn't really lied. The evidence has kind of unfolded right in front of everyone. Nobody said that literally "no one" wants to come to Vancouver. Yes, Vancouver as a city is a beautiful destination. Working for the Canucks at the moment is different. Barry Trotz literally said word for word that "everybody recognized" the treatment of Boudreau by the executives running this organization. It's kind of common sense that if you are aware that an employer treats their employees like absolute cr*p (in Trotz's words, "watching Bruce go through hell"), I'm sure that could have at least some effect on the decision making of joining that business.
  14. I actually really like Kuz and the way he talks to the media and answers questions. He seemed like a bubbly personality when he first got here and even when this team has gone through struggles, he's been one of the bright spots in terms of how he's played and how well he's handled the media. imo, he seems like a positive guy and i feel like we need that around here especially in times like this. great signing. it's a pity this means our captain's fate is likely sealed.
  15. Pretty much blasts our management team. He himself says Bruce's treatment was tough to watch and that "everyone recognizes it". Even personally reached out to him to console him and said he had no interest at all in the Canucks job. Then goes on to praise the Maple Leafs........ If I didn't think things could get even more embarrassing, they did. Full article here: https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/trotz-talks-maple-leafs-calls-canucks-slow-firing-of-boudreau-tough-to-watch/ Shows that the respectable coaches in the league (Trotz being one of them) in this league are all taking notice and are pretty turned off by this organization. Thanks to those dingbats in management. What a clown show.
  16. This was really sweet to watch ^^ especially when they said he's free to come back anytime. I hope he gets his job back on the nhl network. He seemed to really enjoy his time on there with his colleagues. Thank you Bruce!
  17. hmmm....... edmonton suffered a decade of darkness but then ended up getting connor mcdavid from it ....vancouver's own decade of darkness and they also get a connor be- ?
  18. Well to be fair, I do also find it kind of ironic that this is the same fanbase that ruthlessly chants out things such as "fire gilllis" or "fire benning" at games but all of a sudden get sympathetic with Bruce. However, I think a lot of people were just so emotionally invested in the situation especially since it had been dragging on for so long. The way it was handled to brought along a lot of sympathy because of the human side of things and you could tell this was really hard on Bruce. Hard to find a coach that could be so personable and passionate that this fanbase collectively seems to get behind even amidst a bad record. I don't think anyone is against the actual firing decision per say, but the way it happened irked a lot of fans.
  19. In recent memory yeah. This feels like the cream on top of the past decade of disappointment.
