  1. I mostly care about a change in management. If they all come back, I dont see much changing next year. The coaches not being signed is terrible. The only thing that makes sense is that there will be a chamge in management and they will want to pick their own coach. These last minute deals are stupid. Ian Clark should be signed right now. The "I ran out of time" keeps replaying in my mind when I see Benning. The management is riddled with incompetemce.
  2. Love that people want to keep him around because hes good at one thing, drafting. Great gms can draft, trade, negotiate and sign quality players. I ran out of time.
  3. Right. How many times have fans said that its important to win these games for next year? Its a dumb statement because it has never really brought momentum going into the next year. This has happened over and over and fans come in and always say its important going into next year. Players shouldnt be going into next year saying hey remember when we beat the flames at the end of the year. We were so good. I don't get that thinking and when has it ever made a difference?
  4. Typical canucks to screw themselves a good draft pick. This organization. Same thing over and over. Now Benning will stay. so dumb.
  5. How many times have we said Horvat needs a winger? It’s ridiculous that it hasn’t been addressed by now. Year after year it’s the same thing. Benning is not the man that can bring the players needed to support our young stars. That has been clear.
  6. Can anyone explain to me why Benning still has a job? How does he have a job? How does someone hold onto a job through drafting alone. Yes he’s made the odd nice trade but rarely has he made multiple great trades. We keep hearing of this lack of communication. It’s embarrassing. It doesn’t make sense why he’s still here. It just seems like next year will be another lost year where no changes are made. He can’t sign Toffoli, he can’t sign Clark, he can’t sign Green. I just ran out of time.
  7. I’m calling they are going to screw themselves a high pick in these last few meaningless games. Typical Canucks way.
  8. Yes everything sucks this year yet everyone gets to stay and no one is held accountable. Makes sense.
  9. Why are they not playing juolevi over Edler? It makes no sense when they aren’t making the playoffs and he is supposed to be part of the future. They are very reluctant to let players develop in the nhl. Edler is likely gone and offers nothing. I don’t get it.
  10. Right. The acquillinis don’t come with any baggage. If you want to pretend they don’t have issues that’s fine but don’t try to portray them as something they aren’t or that criticism isn’t warranted at times. It just seems like a cost cutting method of theirs that’s all. They are a big reason they are wasting so much money on bottom players with little impact. I think they are now trying to save money where they can. It’s another reason Benning is here even though there are a handful of reasons to let him go. All comes down to money. Hurts the team in the long run.
  11. It doesn’t surprise me that this ownership would pull out. Seems to me to save money but who knows. Now they are searching for a new location. How come it feels that issues like this are always ongoing with this club. Turmoil, turmoil, turmoil. Some people might not think it’s a big deal, but free agents look at things like this when they make decisions to play for certain organizations. What is easier for them and convenient. It’s a pretty common thing to have a practice rink attached or close to the rink that a team plays in. Just leaves me shaking my head with this ownership. 12. We won’t because as Benning said they only deal with things that are right before them. Lol.
  13. We have a bad gm who has failed to acquire good depth players. He loves to acquire below average depth players for the bottom lines.
  14. If he said that, I think it shows how committed to winning he is. It also shows his love for money if that is indeed true. He’s in the wrong business.
  15. What in Benning’s tenure makes you think he can do it? He is the reason we are sort of stuck where we are.
  16. The fact your ok with giving Benning more time is sad. He’s not the gm to lead us out of this. 7 years is proof enough.
  17. This team has major holes that it shouldn’t have at this point in Bennings tenure. The bottom lines shouldn’t be as bad as they are but who else do you blame other than Benning. Accountability needs to come from the top. If you don’t hold people accountable it trickles down through the whole organization.
  18. Firing Benning is not a knee-jerk reaction. He’s had plenty of time and keeps making mistakes that have set the franchise back another two years according to him.
  19. A big problem with this fanbase is the fact we have become complacent and are ok with losing. This franchise hasn’t won a thing over fifty years and some people are ok with that. Losing is losing. It’s what this fanbase has become accustomed to. I don’t get why people are ok with losing but they are.
  20. Our ownership is too dumb to see incompetence. It’s slapping them in the face right now and they still want to stick by their man. He’s good at one thing but since when did great gms only have success in one area and get to keep their jobs?
  21. What gives you confidence that Jim Benning can make successful changes? He’s proven over and over he can’t. I find it funny that people have faith for some reason that he can do it when he has shown his incompetence to this point in his tenure.
  22. We have such an incompetent owner. Benning should be gone and there should be no excuse as to why he is still the gm. We are the only team to roll out the same gm season after season when he hasn’t given ownership reason to keep him around. It’s embarrassing and it makes absolutely no sense. It is hard to watch the rest of this season when management has not given a reason for fans to be excited for next year. Benning is a big problem and will continue to be when it comes to trades and negotiations.
