  1. I'm not one to "pump my tires" usually but I'll have to admit that I did call this (although I'll also humbly admit that I'm often wrong with many things). Boudreau's arrival did kick us to the next level but I really started to notice the Canucks playing better since that Colorado game at home (after the first 10 minutes). I believe that we outplayed those guys and deserved a better fate, but that our lack of confidence at that time was killing us (along with an impotent PK). two games below .500 now with a little less than 66% of the season remaining.
  2. We play those bastards twice in a short time span. Huge opportunity to make up some ground here.
  3. HOW ARE WE ALMOST .500?!??!?!??!?! Please tell me that I'm not dreaming here.
  4. Meh - &^@# him, lol. I do admit that I say a lot of stupid $&!# on here but I'm just a casual fan that doesn't know the intricacies of LTIR and its repercussions. If the situation was reversed and I saw someone struggling with LITR cap ramifications and I had the necessary knowledge to impart to someone, I'd patiently explain it. Why? Because we are all Canucks fans binded by our love of the team. I'm not too offended by @bigbadcanucks, but rather, feel sorry for the guy. You just know that guys like him are struggling in their personal world which is why they choose to lash out on here.
  5. I don't mind seeing them cheer the team once they remove the egg off their faces.
  6. Before the coaching change, could you have seen these Canucks fighting back from 3 goals down?..........2 goals down? Even one? I sure as couldn't.
  7. "Canucks fans" like MS, Y2K, tantalum, Thomas Drance, and JD Burke must be pissing their pants right about now.
  8. Bruce Boudreau is what the &^@# happened! This guy should win the Jack Adams hands down if the Canucks end up making the playoffs.
  9. We *might* be seeing something special here folks. Dare to dream............dare to dream.
  10. The Canes took a chance on Tony DeAngelo. Would that be a parallel for the Canucks taking a flier on Evander Kane?
  11. The acquisition of Kane would likely allow us to move on from some dead cap and underperforming contracts To San Jose: Pearson, Sutter, Ferland To Vancouver: Evander Kane E.Kane-Miller-Boeser Dickinson-Horvat-Hoglander Podkolzin-Pettersson-Garland If the Canucks continue their winning ways and Kane starts to find his game in the minors, then this might be a deal worth considering.
  12. Drance fabricates a lot of BS. As a Canucks fan, of course I take this personally.
  13. Thomas Drance is a cancer and a menace to the Canucks hockey community as is JD Burke. Both men perpetuate the myth that we've been "lost for 8 years" without acknowledging the fact that.... 1) All teams go through a rebuild. Look at the histories of all of the top teams in the NHL today. 2) The 8 years narrative is an inaccuracy given that we qualified for the playoffs in both 2015 and 2020. 3) Within the last week, both men are trying to create a new narrative that "the Canucks are streaking now because they weren't really trying before because they were fed up with Benning and his lack of an apparent plan" (in actuality, Green's system.....or lack thereof.......was extremely incompatible with our players). 4) A few years ago, Thomas Drance tried to heavily infer that Jim Benning wanted to draft Cody Glass over Elias Pettersson but was overruled by Linden. In actuality, Benning was thinking about moving up in draft in 2017 (5th overall++) so that the Canucks could draft Cale Makar, but Thomas Gradin sold Benning on Pettersson saying that he was the real deal. Guys like Drance and JD Burke know that they have a following consisting of fans that 1) Put way too much stock in advanced analytics at the expense of a lot of other hockey qualities 2) position themselves as "new age" and "forward thinking" and reject what is perceived as "old school dinosaur' ways of doing things. It's why sites such as HFCanucks (huge Drance and JD Burke followers) turn a blind eye to Mike Gillis' drafting woes while hammering Benning on his pro scouting woes.
  14. It’s a moot point now. I just sent Rutherford a tweet with a link to this thread and so his opinion will change.
  15. Even if Ferland is on LTIR, doesn’t this make a difference to our available cap space heading into next season? I’ll have to admit that my knowledge of LTIR is a little weak. @mll - how would this work?
  16. [proposal] Moving Ferland + our 2023 1st so that we can afford Miller, Boeser, and Horvat The Canucks will likely have to move on from one of Boeser, Miller, or Horvat at some point....or will they? Correct me I’m wrong, but wouldn’t the Canucks be able to afford Boeser’s 7.5 QO if they got Ferland off the books? Then, in the following season, Hamonic can be replaced by someone like Juulsen while we also move Pearson so that we can afford both Horvat and Miller. Now obviously - all of the above is a moot point is if this current Canucks winning streak is just a hot streak. If the Canucks go back to struggling and are way out of it by the trade deadline, then you obviously make a JT Miller move at the deadline and bring a guy like Braden Schneider in return. On the flip side, if the Canucks make a miraculous come back this season and make the playoffs, then the goal should be for the Canucks to keep this core intact and build upon the fruits of this season. Hence - my Ferland + 1st idea to clear cap and using that money to qualify Brock. The obvious trading partner in this instance would once again be Arizona. They get our 2023rd 1st for their efforts to take on Ferland, while we get a good young piece in return.....
  17. Decent idea but I’d pass. The whole point of the Canucks moving one of Miller, Boeser, or Horvat would be to give us more cap space while giving us a long term elite prospect. Severson doesn’t fill either of those requirements. I wouldn’t mind moving Miller at the trade deadline if we don’t crawl our way back to playoff contention, but I’d rather move Miller for a much younger cost controlled asset such as Braden Schneider++ from the NYR.
  18. I’ll admit that I originally wanted Evander here but I’ll have to say no now.
  19. I think he was actually objective in his analysis but he still comes across as douchey to me.
