  1. 1) the “8 years” is a false narrative considering that we made the playoffs in 2015, started to rebuild after our loss to the Calgary Flames, and then made the playoffs again in 2020 (what happened post bubble appears to be directly related to the coaching.......and yes, Benning deserves blame for that). 2) ALL teams go through a period of growing pains and losses through a rebuild. Don’t believe me? Take a look at the playoff histories.....or lack thereof.......of every single team in the league that are “elite” in the current climate.
  2. LOL - no truer words can be spoken about MS and his band of dickheads. During our winning ways in January of 2020, those guys were actually livid be used everything they had predicted about the Canucks was falling apart. Instead of appreciating that we were winning games, they tried to pin our entire winning ways on Markstrom and Judd Brackett. It was the most ridiculous thing that I’ve ever experienced on a message board.
  3. Looking at our schedule, I think the Canucks should be able to take their next 4 of 6 games at minimum. -Sharks twice -Leafs -Coyotes -Kraken -Ducks Take care of the sharks twice, Kraken, and Coyotes, and I think we start to look pretty. What I think will happen? We split with the Sharks, lose to Toronto, and defeat the Coyotes, Kraken, and Ducks.
  4. @Roger Neilsons Towel @Vintage Canuck @-DLC- @-SN- maybe this could be our new 'Bruce there it is!' reaction smilie? :-p
  5. Are you sure Benning asked, "Zadina or Hughes?" There's a video out there that shows Benning being very pleasantly surprised that the Wings chose Zadina over Hughes. I think the Nucks wanted Hughes all along and were quite shocked when he dropped to them.
  6. Hughes can play the right side from what I understand. He's had extensive experience on that side in juniors if I understand correctly. As far as Chych goes, I think the asking price will be too high for us.
  7. Well, in the world of Thomas Drance, JD Burke, and HFCanucks, Virtanen and Juolevi were Benning picks while every single other pick that turned out to be good for the Canucks were Judd Bracket picks, LOL. Tryamkin, Demko, Pettersson, Hoglander, Podkolzin, Rathbone, Hughes, Boeser = all Brackett and/or non-Benning related. #ObjectiveCanucksFans
  8. Definitely a heck of a player but I think the book on him at the time as the years went by was that he was basically a forward out of position. People last season tried to give Hughes the same stigma/label. Glad that Hughes is putting those guys in their places.
  9. MS on HF said he was a Weisbrod pick? Maybe he was wrong. I'm just glad that he's thriving this season.
  10. I have fun whining about the media? :-p. But in all seriousness, I am really enjoying our current winning streak. I just got fed up of the "objective" Canucks fans claiming that "they told us so" when the Nucks came stumbling out of the gate this season. I knew it was coaching all along. Look at how different we look under BB.
  11. Your boi Chychrun is on the trade block! :-p https://hfboards.mandatory.com/threads/coyotes-gauging-the-market-on-chychrun.2860308/
  12. Since Hughes was a Weisbrod pick as opposed to Judd "can do no wrong" Brackett, guys like Drance, JD Burke, and the usual suspects were laying it in thick to Hughes this past off-season. Even heard some Sandis Ozolinsh comparisons. So great seeing Hughes shove it up the asses of the naysayers and toxic media members in Vancouver.
  13. Update, The Canucks are now 5 points ahead of the Kraken and have a higher winning percentage than them as well. Although the Canucks are only 3-4 points out of a playoff spot right now, they are likely about 6 point out when you factor in points percentage. The Canucks are now separating themselves from "your" Kraken but the good news for you however, is that "your" Kraken have leap frogged Chicago and Arizona......so congrats? @kanucks25 @JohnTavares
  14. To be honest, it might not even be Winnipeg that we chase. I think it might end up being Nashville or Dallas: 1) Anaheim, Calgary, and Vegas run away with the division. 2) Winnipeg runs away with the first wildcard spot 3) Edmonton falls 4) LA and San Jose continue to be “average”. That would leave Nashville, Dallas, and the Canucks.
  15. It definitely won't be easy but we've at least put ourselves back into the conversation where dreaming about the playoffs is no longer ridiculous. We take out San Jose in our back to backs with them and we're back in the conversation.
  16. If the Canucks take out San Jose in their next two meetings with them, we are basically back in the thick of things.
  17. Agreed but you said it best in your last sentence. Two weeks ago, what would have been our "statistical probabilities" of winning 7 of our next 8 games? Although point wise, we are only 4 points away from being tied, we are likely 6-7 points out when you factor in points percentage. Our real enemy is Winnipeg. Edmonton will continue to drop like a sack of $&!# imo while LA and San Jose are average teams at best. It isn't 2012 or 2013 anymore. 1) Let Anaheim, Calgary, and Vegas run away with the top 3 seeds 2) Let Nashville occupy the first wildcard spot 3) LA, San Jose, and Dallas will continue to be average (maybe Dallas picks up steam again). 4) Canucks chase and hound Winnipeg. Still lots of work to be done but from a point percentage perspective, we aren't that far out.
  18. @Provost - I do admit that the Canucks still have a LOT of work ahead of them, but do you mind informing the people as to what our odds of making the playoffs are at after tonight's win?...........7 of 8 mind you just incase you lost count. Surely, a Canucks fan like you would be more than happy to give us the good news with regards to our increased odds after this impressive winning streak right? I'd like to think that it's not all "doom and gloom" in your world, and that you don't only come here to report "statistics" and "probabilities" when things are low. We still have a lot of work to do but an update on our chances of making the playoffs would be highly appreciated.
  19. Hilarious how the anti-Benning crew and "objective" Canuck fans claim that we are overly reliant on Demko, are all but happy to point out when we go on losing streaks, but are nowhere to be found when we question them on the Oilers....and if they're overly reliant of McDrai.
  20. It's only been a relatively small sample size but so far, the evidence is strongly pointing to the fact that..... 1) Benning did in fact build this team correctly 2) Benning's only real fault was that he was too loyal to Travis Green, and should have replaced Green after the 2020 bubble. If Benning had replaced Green earlier on, we would have made the 2020-2021 playoffs and likely would be a 10-13th ranked team in the league this season. The anti-Benning crew are getting absolutely rag-dolled right now with this Canucks resurgence. The only argument against Benning right now is that he was too loyal to Green.
  21. [Bane voice]. Now is not the time for panic.........that comes later! [/Bane voice]
