    The building in Vegas, someone wrote a private check to build the arena and another one, 500 million+ for the team. It cost close to 1 billion to put the team in Vegas before they played a single game.

     

    Arizona's problem isn't specifically that they are in Arizona, it's that its ALL private funding and the team was moved to the wrong place within Arizona. It was a good 45 minute commute for 75% of their natural fan base. If they can get a deal done in Tempe, they will be pretty good there and will quickly self sustain.

     

    This building in Calgary was a bunch of millionaires going to the Gov and saying, please use tax payers money to build us a new arena...

    Agreed, this is bullshit. Let me pay the f**king billionaires meanwhile our healthcare is being gutted and mental health care is abysmal. I'm all for a new arena but not with this "contract". The UCP also said that the deal is only going through if the UCP is voted in. Absolute bullshit buying votes.
