  1. He’s no where near what Bergeron was, but he’s the closest thing we have
  2. Bo is our Bergeron. Unless there is a locker room reason we should keep him. Hopefully he does us a solid and takes a team discount to keep the team competitive
  3. Then I don’t think you understand the importance of the queen, not just the person but to the British psyche. She has been a rock a consistent in changing times, whatever happened we had the queen. One person one institution for most peoples lives. She is part of our culture and tradition. many people here while not a fan of the monarchy have said they were surprised how they felt so it’s more than just a person. while she was a stickler for tradition she was not above changing things when needed. Even the most ardent supporters republican groups in the uk have said now is not the time for this discussion. BBC announcement - this is Huw Edwards announcing her death on the bbc.
  4. It’s also to do with the weather, typically royal events are held in spring/summer to ensure there is best possible weather. Pomp and pageantry doesn’t work so well when it’s cold wet raining and blowing a gale from the north east
  5. He isn’t. It it took about 16 months for Elizabeth. It’s most likely to happen in the spring so sometime in may I would hazard a guess at
  6. Be interesting which train they use. I would have thought it would be the Princess Elizabeth. But that’s being overhauled. They may use one of the diesels, but the only active steam train with any significance for that journey that’s active that I can think off is the flying Scotsman
  7. Won’t be for some months though till that happens. Likely next year now
  8. No it’s a gifted title not hereditary so it’s assumed by the crown
  9. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-61585886 the Queen has died
  10. if the worst happens the below is a summary of operation Unicorn https://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/news/national/operation-unicorn-what-is-operation-unicorn-what-happens-if-the-queen-dies-in-scotland-3836443
  11. you are correct as there is always a monarch on the throne. I meant her personal standard as that will probably flying at Balmoral.
  12. yes if the royal standard gets set to half mast that's a different thing. If we have the radio on here, or main news channels we will get a cut to black and obit procedures kick in. Radio one this would be played. It wont be some consiracy half mast image from a day thats not even today
  13. means nothing - when the queen isnt in residence its flys at half mast. Has done since the death of Dianna and again since the Duke of Edinburgh
  14. If we see the start of operation unicorn being triggered then we know the worst has happened
  15. With the statement that was released (and Buckingham Palace hardly ever comment upon health issues unless its to say x is going into hospital for a routine operation The wording and using concerned is not typical langue they use, alongside 'remains comfortable'. Couple this with the quick movements of her family to get up to Balmoral and I think we are seeing the last days or hours of the queen, if she hasn't passed already.
  16. I agree. I was fine with Beagle, having one overplayed vet who actually fulfils their purpose is fine, especially as he was reliable to play the hard defensive minutes, and win critical face offs, so it was a very important role, not just positionnally but to protect the team. thenissue was all of the vets were basically overpaid. never had an issue with beagle.
  17. Really wanted him on the team a few years back, yes he has dropped off but at that rate he could easily outperform. think he will do well for them this year
  18. As with all these debates you get three types of people, those that love the stats and compare numbers and figures. Those that don’t trust them, and those that recognise that stats are meaningless without context and essentially playing top trumps. stats are useful but playing top trumps with them isn’t as there will never be one stat to rule them all. Context is still key using stats to work out day who is a good face off winner under pressure and then analyse why is good. Using them to identify trends and pattens of play also useful either to plan better plays or counter opponents. Using to say x is better than why but not defining the context of comparison is meaningless. is mcdavid abetter player than Hedman because he scores goals than hedman? comparison is meaningless
  19. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u4JZ0ScFffQ anyone who says draws are boring give your head a warble, Newcastle serve up yet another thriller goes with the arsenal 4-4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VU8hmkD5W_k the Man U Liverpool and Barcelona games
  20. not sure on full roster but the below two lines would be fun Torres Kesler Cooke Ferland Morrison Gino
  21. Forgot about that, just assumed would be ready for start of season and forgot it’s likely he’s done
