  1. Will give a lot of credit to Green, he seems to have learnt and adapted to playoff hockey from the games against Minnesota. I do have my doubts about him still, but if he continues to grow then that is good. I do think though he still needs some better support coaches though
  2. That’s a total joke. Refs knew they dropped one and were covering their own arse. Hopefully that’s them ejected from NHL officiating (however expect them to be doing the finals instead) Surely common sense should prevail and something like that should be referred and overturned rather then hiding behind technicalities
  3. It’s almost like when they are up against it, the refs just seem to open the door for them. In 2011 should have been Tampa winning that game
  4. I think for his development he is in the best place. Play in the German league and be a no1 player, and have a few other young English players come through. or move to PL and not always be a starter, intense media scrutiny
  5. Getting the beers and the coffee in, and then going to sleep to get up at 3am to watch this game although cannot pump up the volume due to child & neighbours etc. although currently trying to find some old videos on YouTube I remember one from about 10 or so years ago that used rise against behind closed doors as the music to it
  6. Although looking at that for Vancouver he was the gift that kept on giving when you see how many players he flipped or as a result of his trades we landed
  7. I also feel sorry for the blue jackets as the schedule is brutal for them, especially last game of play ins then first of playoffs. Yet bruins get a decent break and even get a nice break between game 1 and 2 (before you factor in the reschedule)
  8. I like new teams doing well as it helps solidify a fan base and Hopefully stops instability and then moving later on. same with Seattle I hope they do well from a rival perspective ( but not as good as nucks ) However I think the system used for the entry draft made them a bit to strong. Seattle might not be as good as some GMs would have seen the errors they made in deals prior to Vegas, however with flat cap who knows.
  9. Made sure I got the strong coffee in so I can stay awake for the game! I'm going with a 2-1 Canucks win tonight. A cagey game, with the teams sussing each other out. STL goal will be scored first on a Myers penalty and CDC goes into meltdown. Motte scores the equaliser and then the winner is scored by either Eriksson or Virtanen and CDC again goes into collective meltdown
  10. It has been I treating to reading through. onenthing to remember though that if the cap keeps going up (which it won’t for now) signing a star to a high hit long term can actually turn out well towards the middle/end of that deal. look at Crosby - while he never had the top league money he got signed to a big big deal and with him and Malkin arguable meant they couldn’t ice a complete team. Then the cap catches up and suddenly they are on good deals
  11. I thought it was earlier than that March 24, 1936 - Detroit 1, Montreal Maroons 0, semifinal, 116 minutes, 30 seconds, Mud Bruneteau.
  12. Also I’m getting adverts on this game as it seems a bit slow on the usual cutting to the commercial break screen, but you guys have a. Sausage brand called Johnsonville - that’s hilarious
  13. 2 goals in 9s, one a wrister from the Point, the other a weak save by talbot just lets a routine shot through his arms
  14. From a mental health standpoint I don’t see it. It’s not just about the not seeing family, but being confined to limited areas (hotels and training areas) and being stuck with the same guys 24/7 for months and months on end with no respite and no clear end goal. Also the players Are human for that length of time rules will get broken and the bubble concept will most likely fail
  15. Unfortunately he would needed to have signed before December I believe to be eligible, but having both of them in the line up would be intimidating
  16. Didn’t realise he was only 25. Plays like an old timer bottom 6, dependable, gritty and sensible. Bit I agree there may be a bit more upside we may yet see from him. Remember when Janick Hanson was ‘stone hands’ I think motte will be more like honey badger than burrows if we are talking similar players. Useful up and down the line, and willing to do any role he is given for the good of the team
