  1. Going to say CBJ pull one out the bag here, injuries to Tampa plus, the scare in the last round I think they will have a bonfire lit under them that they might get a jump on the lightning that the lightning cannot pull back
  2. On HF board prior to the shutdown when looking at what they were saying the fans were preferring to play the flames, and the Canucks were put in a group of - ‘they have our number would rather not have to play them’
  3. Meh not where I would have wanted it to go but at least it’s not oilers, pens or leafs. while I wouldn’t have minded the wild getting him, the forums would have been unbearable that it would have been the Canucks
  4. Happy with that game 2 time for selfish reasons will be able to watch it at about 11:30pm FO rather than 3:30 am!
  5. They would not be that granular at the gm level but rolled up into core attributes and probably ran through model which scores that granular level data and grouped into day a ‘grit’ score
  6. Not being an nhl analyst cannot give you the exact answer, but you would use things such as time ice, Shift length, when during the game. The score at that point, the number of battles/hits/takeaway/meters covered etc in one game it might not be obvious but over a season you could easily gain some trend analysis. this would be able to tell you for a player how they performed at different stages of a game - do they alway seem to float around when going down a goal, or can you see an increase in meters covered, battles undertaken in shifts after a goal etc
  7. Actually most of those can be quantified through analytics. Most of the time it’s wrong decisions based on the data that is the issue not the data itself. it can only tell what has happened it’s down to a human on how they interpret that and use it.
  8. You do realise that Crosby is in the millenial grouping and the younger leaf players are not actually Millenials but the generation after them
  9. And within a few years they will have to blow the team up as the cap would bite hard
  10. https://www.nhl.com/news/inside-the-bubble-moving-day-in-edmonton/c-318355016 didn't realise The Canucks declined to move.
  11. Going to be a tight series. Their stick work is exceptional so we will have to tighten up lose plays/passing or risk turnovers in dangerous positions
  12. Will be a tight series but if we win being 5th seed at the moment and each round being reseeded means if we can get through this we should get a good matchup
  13. Are we not now technically 5th seed? As it’s rejigged each round?
  14. If he is still in the bubble then not going to do much considering he will be walking past other teams, yes the top 6 are at the Marriott and the Canucks are not but I’m sure the info will get out
  15. Leafs, Man U, Barcelona, Lakers - all the same except the others actually have had success
  16. Bubble works for post season as the numbers dwindle, and the duration is time bound so only the successfully teams stay on. doing it for a whole season is a bit much and probably not good for player mental health. all credit to the nhl to get this working but it’s an interim solution
  17. I don’t get the period intermission interviews no players is going to come out and talk about what the strategy is, let them rest, and let the coaches talk to them and do the interviews pre and post game
  18. Just accidentally board Sutherland next time he gets a game
  19. I think of last nights calls the only one I think that I didn’t agree with was the one which boeser got with his tangle with dumba. Both should have gone
