Poor execution a few times is on the players but the amount of times it’s happened this year is more than a player issue. It’s strikes of bigger issues. - Does the system we play suit the type of players we have? - Have the players not bought into the system - are the players confused about what the coach/system wants them to do - is there a clear game plan or are we allowing players to much freedom to express themselves on the ice resulting in a disjoin/miss communication between players?

Ok to demand an NHL coach yet? Asking for a friend.

If you compare green to Av. AV at the moose did well because of his coaching Green seems to have succeeded at Utica despite his coaching, having good players handed to him, and then letting them do their thing worked. at NHL level it’s not enough -
Attack triangle would work if done at high speed. i think to be honest shooting from the D was deliberate and not just because they were forced back to make those shots. In theory it’s fine, but we had no one crashing the net for a tip, or parking their fat ass in front of the netminer being a pest. if your going to shoot from d you need that, if you want to use speed you need a 2 man aggressive forecheck and the third man looking to jump forward to the net for a quick snapshot

I’m not saying it Doesn’t gives them a momentum swing And help them out. My point is that regardless of that the performance was poor, the decision making poor, the passing poor, the line rolling matchups poor, team selection look wrong. by focusing just on the refs it papers over these deficiencies. if the team played hard and well, and the line matchups were ran well, then I would give more stock on the ref calls. But there was a lot more than the refs that stank tonight

I do think we need a new coach as green just seems out his depth. but the issues go a lot deeper. We don’t really have a team identity or a clear style of play, we rely a lot on individual skill to get by. the coaching structure needs focus from special teams to defensive structure to offensive zone entry. I think without understanding exactly how we want to play we will always struggle. We need clear communication between GM and coachBig so that players being brought in fit the system, and that we have a clear system -

Any NUFC fans on here, pretty despondent after the PIF withdrawal from their bid -
Question. why doesn’t a game ever face off on time, like ever? in UK if a football or rugby match kicks off at say 3:30pm you can bet that within 30s of that time the game would have started. in the NHL it seems like it’s constantly 10-20 mins after this time that the match actually starts

Defensively we are all over the shop, this season and again this game how many time do we see an opposition player completely unmarked right in front of markstrom. for the second goal as well it’s typical from all season, the wild player had time to go get himself a coffee before taking a shot he had that much space, to me it’s not the D it’s the system

Agree - compare Eriksson with Staal at the wild and it’s night and day, and I don’t think it’s just down to the players. Staal got a reasonable contract considering he was coming if a relative poor season, but is playing well due to being in a team with a clear structure and identity. Eriksson comes of a relative strong season and gets a whoper if a contract and then seems lost. The contract may have something to do with it (JB looking at you) but ultimately I think their is a lack of team identify and play style. the wild could play on autopilot and still perform, we rely on individual magic. To me that shows poor coaching
