  1. The lawyer would be unlikely to find a hockey job since they are few in number and he will be only licensed for BC law. He could readily get another job as a lawyer but it must be a very disappointing forced change. For the cap person there are few jobs and they all require a move out of province - which is a fairly big deal if you have a family. The impact of these firings on the individuals and their families should not be callously minimized, even if they are in the best interests of the team.
  2. No way is that Aqua. That fell under Rutherford’s jurisdiction as soon as he was hired and from what we have heard he is very protective of his jurisdiction. But what is puzzling is how Rutherford made the determinations that these two should be fired without setting foot here, Were there some serious black marks against them that made it obvious they should be fired? It just seems harsh and without due diligence at this point.
  3. Been giving the Aquas hell for some time now so it is only right to say thanks and goodonya for taking tough and very expensive steps! It is heartening to see the owners step up and make a big financial commitment here. With the new, temporary management collective there is a lot of experience and hockey smarts. I am so optimistic for the first time in ages. Go Canucks go!
  4. The Saturday suppository worked. Good clean out was needed. The whole team must feel the relief.
  5. The experiment in stoicism is over. Hope they keep a defibrillator close by!
  6. The problems are so widespread that I think it can be called “culture”. Could it be in part a consequence of the Louie Erickson contract? Does the Louie virus/stink still linger? It showed how you could get paid big bucks for doing next to nothing and there was immunity from any consequence - just keep cashing the cheques and management was powerless to do anything about it. That plus ineffectual coaching and uninspiring management creates a toxic environment.
  7. And the person who hired him and extended him. Shocking, repeated incompetence.
  8. Aqua family has no management ability. Shoulda stuck with the slum landlord business, this hockey thing is way beyond them.
  9. Agreed. Horvat has to share the fault for that. Out-skated by Poeling. Was Bo leading by example there? Not impressive for the guy wearing the “C”.
  10. I agree EP looking better tonight and has been slowly improving for a couple of games now. But Boeser is missing in action completely. I do wonder about lingering health issues for several players. Miller was not as prominent tonight. Even so, we just about had this one. It’s a shame because beating Bruins in their own rink would have built some confidence. Maybe. ?
  11. We knew when OEL made that hit ‘cause we’ve seen it so many times - we’re screwed. It would have been an acceptable price if he had laid out Marchand but instead it was some hapless Swede. Jeeeezzz!
  12. EP40 looks to be struggling with post-covid effects. Even those who get “healthy”can have an impaired respiratory and cardiac systems and lose metabolic efficiency. Hopefully he can overcome this by next season. If he doesn’t he will barely be a C-grade player for what remains of his career.
  13. Not grittier. Not tougher. But bigger. Tanev an awesome warrior and athlete treated like crap by dumbass Benning.
