[Report] Jim Benning to return for next season
Kenny Blankenship replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Canucks Talk
Okay, but that doesn’t make his info correct. Just because you agree with what he’s saying doesn’t mean you’re right, but obviously what I’m saying isnt getting through to you lol. -

Sorry can you provide what changes were actually made? Talking to the Sedin’s isn’t a change lol. There isn’t any breaking news here, he’s just saying things. I get it, you’re not a fan of Benning and the front office as a whole right now, and that’s fair. But If you’re gonna post info as if it’s fact, at least provide good information. Tweets that don’t actually hold any info from some random dude on the internet aren’t a quality source. -

That tweet is not proof that the players are unhappy. The guy literally says “I believe” lol. There’s zero proof of anything he’s saying. -

Sorry, can you provide a link to where you’re getting this info? Because at this point there is nothing to back what you’re claiming. What makes you think any of these guys want to leave town? -

Don’t bother, these guys will just make things up to make their point. Probably getting their info from a meme page lol. -
Honest Conversation With Those Who Still Support Management

Criticism absolutely has a place, but the general feel surrounding this team always seems to be negative. Even when things are going well lol. -

It’s unfortunate that for most of us I think we are fans of the team because it’s a release from the stresses of everyday life. Win or lose it’s enjoyable to watch the games, at least for me (for the most part). Now everything regarding the Canucks is completely toxic, something that I would pin on the local media and a small portion of the fans. It’s sucked the fun out of being a hockey fan. I think I’ll take a page out of your book and start throwing people on the ignore list. It couldn’t hurt lol. -

I’m on board with Gallant but Julien can kick rocks lol. -

What does my question have to do with Benning? I’m just asking about the claims of meddling ownership. -

Just out of curiosity, is there actually any tangible evidence that the Aquilini’s meddle any more than every other owner of a sports franchise? I feel like I hear people whine about ownership all the time but as far as I’m concerned it’s always been conjecture pushed by the media. People here just love to eat it up though lol. -
Not that it’s been said in this thread, but I’ve been reading people compare this organization to Buffalo, which is hilarious. As you said, this time last year we won 2 rounds of playoff hockey and everything was good. Now suddenly the sky is falling? I hate how our fanbase takes the media’s word as gospel and doesn’t look at things as a whole. Makes it hard to be a fan sometimes.

I’m very limited on my knowledge of the draft eligibles this year, but I feel like Lysell isn’t being talked about enough. I’ve liked what I’ve seen. Thought the size scares me a bit.
-
Generally I would agree, but this year is an anomaly. I have a feeling that we’re gonna see top guys not going at the top of the draft just because there wasn’t a large body of work for scouts to work with this year. It would be nice to have a top 5 pick, but I can’t ever bring myself to be upset when the boys win. Either way I feel we’re gonna end up with a good piece at the draft.

Just read about some of the stuff Hirsch was saying, just some awful takes. Thinks that we don’t win with guys like that? We finally get a player with some fire and he wants to trade it away lol. Unreal.
-
People weren’t complaining when he was firing the boys up during the playoffs last year. Like you said, I’m fine with the emotion. It beats having a bunch of guys who don’t wear their heart in their sleeve. He obviously hates losing, which we’ve been doing a lot this year. He’s been our best producer since he got here, I don’t get why we would want to trade him.

Does anyone have some insight on Lysell? Based on what I’ve seen, seems like a high energy, high skill player. Maybe hurts that he’s on the small side?
-
I agree, I think if Beniers is available where we pick (assuming we’re not in the top two), JB probably picks him. Seems like the kinda player he would take. I still have Clarke as my number 1 choice as I feel rhd is our greatest concern.
