  1. Can’t tell if you’re making a direct comparison to Jake but that’s a bit off base. I understand you gotta be professional but our team is in serious need of some personality, a swagger of sorts. If there’s one thing I hate about this sport it’s that the players are generally super boring. The generic hockey phrases make me cringe soooooo hard.
  2. Exactly. Some people are so impatient. Anyone who has watched Schmidt’s play from previous years would know that he’s better than what he showed last season. Talk of his personality rubbing people the wrong way makes me laugh. How boring of a team are we if the fun guy gets run out of town for showing some personality.
  3. I understand that it’s a Canadian broadcast but damn the bias towards the habs is super blatant
  4. Mate, if you’re literally ill after listening to a pretty basic hockey interview, you need to take a step back and re-evaluate where you’re putting your energy. It’s just a game lmao.
  5. Or maybe the twins see the flaws in their games and know how to tweak in order to be successful. I’ve never seen those two as stubborn people. Don’t forget they were dominant at stages in their careers, mvp level. Literally a game away from the holy grail. I’m sure they know a thing or two about the game. Not to mention I’m sure they’re absolutely determined to bring a cup to Vancouver. Unfinished business.
  6. Why is it that people who tweet stuff like this always look like the biggest dorks
  7. I just think when you consider what the cost to acquire Jones would be (starting point would be Girard/Byram + ), he just doesn’t move the needle enough imo. For most defenses in the league, absolutely, but Colorado has some studs back there.
  8. I think the Avs will probably want to get their guys signed before they start swinging for big name dmen, especially considering how good their back end was this year.
  9. Hyman might be a tad pricey for us, as well as Nuge. A name that keeps popping up for me is Armia, and you would think he would come a bit cheaper than those two. Though I think he probably re-signs in Montreal
  10. Parayko would be nice but would likely cost a first I would think.
  11. Playoffs aren’t even over yet and our fanbase is already in panic mode. Par for the course I suppose.
  12. Especially in a year where the draft is going to be extremely unpredictable. Hard to get a proper read on most of them.
  13. I suppose that’s a good way of looking at it. I just feel like there’s some risk involved with taking a goalie that high, especially when we have so many other areas of need. Though if you potentially get the most value, whether that’s trading either him or Demko down the line, that does make lots of sense.
  14. If we had stuck with marky instead of demmer than I would say sure, draft a goalie. I just don’t see us taking a goalie that early when we have way more pressing needs. Demko is just starting to reach stardom, I don’t see why we would want to try to find his replacement at this stage.
  15. Oh for sure I don’t doubt that he’s a good player, just more curious if he gets a bit of a bump due to the fact he’s Canadian. I do believe there’s a bit of a bias towards Canadians when it comes to hockey. As far as the Canucks go, something about drafting a shoot first center puts me off a bit.
  16. Out of curiosity, does anyone think McTacish benefits from the fact that he’s Canadian? Say he was the same player, but Finnish, does he still rank within the top 10? Or is he viewed as more of a Svechkov who’s kinda ranked all over the place. I feel that sometimes the Canadian kids get a bit more hype than they deserve. Everyone puts a bit more value on the rugged style Canadian.
  17. What are the odds the media clowns own up to the fact that they crucified JB for not signing Clark? Probably not likely
  18. No kidding lol. We know too much about the long term effects of head trauma now to be declaring that a clean hit. Finally the DOPS got it right.
  19. A charge is a charge though, it doesn’t matter what the intent was. He came in with excessive speed and blew the guy up. He wasn’t just trying to put the body on him, look at how huge his follow through is. And if people wanna say that his follow through was a result of the speed he was going then that proves the point even further. He’s charging a vulnerable player when he could have made another play. I just don’t think this kind of hit is good for the game.
  20. This It’s still a charge, I don’t understand why this point keeps getting missed. It’s a dangerous play that could have been avoided. Everyone keeps saying that hitting him that way was the only way to prevent a goal, which is clearly wrong, seeing as he scored anyways.
  21. It’s usually the guys that have played sports and understand the severity of the injuries that want the excessively violent stuff gone. Hockey will always be a physical game, but I don’t get how you think it’s sad that you don’t get to see guys KO’d as much anymore.
  22. Lmaoooo this is an all time bad take on a forum that is full of bad takes. Hotdogging? In a 1 goal game? Unreal.
