  1. This means the team isn't actively shopping him. So they let the agent do it. This way the player finds a team he wants to go to and it becomes the agents job to pump up the player and get the best return possible to keep his clients value high so he makes more money.
  2. Hey thanks for that. That's the one. Way more penalties than I remember lol.
  3. My first game was Jan 2nd '94. My Dad got me and my brother tickets for Xmas. I was 8 and super excited to go. We lived in Central BC and this was also a little vacation for us and a break for Mom, 3 days with the freedom of no kids (I could use that lol, I love my kids tho). The game was at the old Pacific Coliseum and it was a powerhouse game between the surging Canucks and the defending Stanley Cup Champions, Les Habitants. I was, sorry to say, cheering for the Canadiens. I had a relative who had recently been drafted by Montreal. I even had a big sign with their logo on it that I brought to the game. The game was 3-2 loss for the Canucks, but it was a spirited game with lots of penalties but I don't think there were any fights. I remember Ronning scoring in the 1st and Damphousse scored in the 2nd to tie it 2-2. Can't remember who scored the winner. But I remember watching guys like Linden and Bure flying around the ice and deciding that maybe I should start watching these guys play more. Again, keep in mind I was 8 so it was much easier to watch the eastern teams on Hockey Night, they played and finished their games before my bedtime lol.
  4. Johansson was +3 and 2 shots in 26:04 of ice time in a 5-2 win today. Most ice time of any player in the game. Not sure why, but for some reason Frölunda only dressed 5 defencemen for this game.
  5. D-Petey with with 2 shots, 1 hit and +2 in 14:29 of ice time on the 3rd pair for Orebro in a 5-3 win
  6. Jasek with an assist for the Pelicans today. Still leading his team in scoring with 9G and 19P in 28GP. Playing as the 2C for the last few games.
  7. KPJ with his first goal in Extraliga. Now has 1G and 4P in 5 GP for Olomouc. Can't find a way to embed the video but here's a link to it. Nice one-timer from the top of the circle. https://www.flashscore.ca/game/pnXCtbyL/#/video/620655
  8. Not at all. Sorry I just expect all players on the team to try and stop the other team from scoring when they have the puck in our zone, not just the defence. Like I said a few posts ago, which you continuously choose to ignore, "Obviously our defence is bad, that's been obvious for years". I'd love to be able to move OEL and Myers without the cost being detrimental to our team, more so than they are just playing for us. But if, like you say, that forwards are supposed to focus on producing points, not preventing them, then Boeser is great value. Sorry I expect our $8 million "leaders" to lead by example at both ends of the ice and not just consistently coast in on the back check or glide to bench.
  9. So the forwards should all just sit at the offensive blue line and wait for the 2 defenders to get the puck from the 3 opposing forwards and pass it up to them? All players are responsible for both ends of the ice.
  10. Because I'm not just talking about last night. I'm talking about the season overall. And if you're so unbiased why single out Bo in defence of Miller?
  11. Can you read? I very clearly said Bo didn't have a good game last night, no one did.
  12. Only if you take your JT heart shaped blinders off. You're the one who brought up that he's a leader because he fights. I'm saying there are two ends to the ice and it's all 5 players responsibility to make sure that the other team doesn't score. If it's a simple as offensive players produce offence and defensive players stop goals then Boeser is a great value contract. Yes, JT is paid to put up points but is it worth it if he continues to be a liability in his own end? The only forwards that have been on the ice for more goals against are Dylan Cozens, Leon Draisaitl and Ryan O'Reilly Obviously our defence needs to be improved. That's been obvious for years which is why JT should of been moved last year, before re-signing him, when he had insanely over-inflated market value. Now our best path forward to improve the defence in a meaningful way is to trade the better overall, younger player in Horvat.
  13. So fighting is the standard for leadership? Well then let's slap the C on Dakota Joshua. He's got more fights than JT this year. A leader leads. He is also hard to play against at all times and commits to both ends of the ice. Did Horvat have a good game last night? No, no one did. But at least Horvat back checks and plays like he cares if the other team scores. Bo is 3rd in the league in goals, kills more penalties than JT, is even not -8 and wins more faceoffs 58.3% vs 46.6%. JT also only has 2 more fights than Bo since JT arrived in Van.
  14. Here's the problem, again: “My game, where I’ve really tried to work on, is five-on-five in my own end and worrying about that first. Offence later. And if I look at the way I’ve been playing there, I feel really good about what I’ve done so far… The timing really hasn’t been there yet for offence… But I think it’d be immature of me to hit the panic button. I’m trying to be patient, but I’m not going to change the way I’m playing, away from the puck and in my own end because I don’t think I’ve given up much of anything there.” Just one example of how he plays, game after game. No accountability or reflection for himself. That's not a leader. So let me ask you, despite what you think is our new management's shortcomings (not saying you're wrong about them), how do we fix our defence without moving from our incredibly top heavy offence?
  15. We'd probably be much better with assets we could of gotten in a trade. Never wanted him re-signed, was obvious the best move was trading him. Even without him we still have 5 players scoring close to PPG or better. Offence isn't the issue. Defense is a massive problem that he only exacerbates. Yes, you are absolutely right, it's a team game and there are more issues than a single player but when he says his defensive play isn't a problem, that's a huge problem.
  16. But, but we have to re-sign him! He's our true leader both on the ice and in the room! How could we ever win a game again without him! Look how he calls out the team in the media to help motivate our team so they try harder to win games!: You know, calling out everyone but himself, love all the "we's" but no "I's". Well except for... “My game, where I’ve really tried to work on, is five-on-five in my own end and worrying about that first. Offence later. And if I look at the way I’ve been playing there, I feel really good about what I’ve done so far… The timing really hasn’t been there yet for offence… But I think it’d be immature of me to hit the panic button. I’m trying to be patient, but I’m not going to change the way I’m playing, away from the puck and in my own end because I don’t think I’ve given up much of anything there.” Meanwhile.....
  17. Lockhart with an assist tonight. Up to 28 points in 25 games.
  18. Just wondering what qualifies for a goalie in your estimation then? I get the point that he played most of his career in Florida but he is still our franchise leader in: Wins, Shutouts, GAA and Save % (min 100 games played) and he's 2nd in Games Played, Shots Against and Saves. Like I said in a previous post, I don't think he deserves to have his number or jersey retired or anything but ROH seems appropriate for all he accomplished as a Canuck.
