  1. Had sooooo much talent, but nooooo heart or desire. Similar to Virtanan, happy seeing that 10+million already in there bank accounts, knowing full well that is more then enough money to give them a glamours life. Oilers gave Jake a tryout at last years camp, if another does the same for Goldy it will be the same result. Unfortunately for the millions of young adults and kid hockey players struggling around the world that could only wish for half there talent and just one of the many chances they had is a kick in the teeth. Tryamkin says come back and join the party......
  2. Theses awards are voted by hockey writers and such. Most of which have never played hockey since there parents were tying there skates. (slight exaggeration) but not much. The fact Erik Karlsson will win the Norris this year says it all. He was the furthest thing from a deference man this year. Could you imagine Hughes, Makar, Fox, etc point total if they did what Karsson did this year? There needs to be more Ted Lindsey type of awards. Voted on by the PLAYERS, NHLPA, and folks who actually know what it takes, and not people who spend 20 out of 24 hours a day on the internet dissecting every analytic possible. Take this type of overrated hype, and the league/owners making sure the players that sell the most jerseys win the trophy's with the littlest grain of salt ever. The people that matter (real knowledgeable fans), already know who wins.
  3. Guess the theory that coaches and management are not trying to tank has been proven to be a lie.
  4. It was Kevin Woodley, USA today hockey writer goalie expert and The Hockey News goalie guru writer. I clearly remember him on 650 saying Clark was the main reason he came to Van, also praised the Canucks because we found a huge hidden gem with Delia.
  5. Palmieri, Brock Nelson, Clzkas, Barzal, plus Horvat is scary centre depth!
  6. Pierre McGuire who has more NHL connections then the entire CBC panel combined, has just reported that the Canucks are not looking for picks or futures with any of the trade bait we have. NHL ready players who fit the mid 20's range +- a year or so. If its not a right handed centre and or R defence, there not listing. Things will be happening after xmas I am thinking.
  7. Turning the table on the who we should/shouldn't extend (forward) talk, it is high time we talk about a much needed deference man who is quietly doing what is asked and then some.... Ethan Bear. Kid loves it in Van, and should just improve. Even if he stays status quo, the money he gets will be a bonus for what he brings. Looks like a perfect fit for both the organisation and him, and should come at a decent price. After seeing his after hours last week, I still cant believe they passed him by on the second half of after hours around 6 weeks ago so Horvat could talk about his commercial with McDavid and other meaningless crap. CBC dodged a bullet for not getting hit by the social media grenade there.
  8. Funny how we go from before the season started as one of the best teams with center depth, to 20 games later and now one of our biggest concerns. Trials and tribulations of being a Canucks fan.
  9. Think of draft picks as darts. The more you have, the better chance to hit a bullseye.
  10. Not a chance with Petty! Look at what this KID is doing on a meh line and still more growing/learning, with much more ceiling to go. Would love to see what he could do with top tier wingers and see him pass McDavid points wise. Plus a Selke for the encore. This fella is as untouchable as the twins were.
  11. Whatever trade that is made, we will immediately be a lesser team. Sucks to lose that big presence and minutes guy, but the salary retained is long(er) term gain. Saying that we better not play Hughs to the point of exhaustion and injury to make up for him.
  12. He should do a Lindros and refuse to go to the team that drafts him. Probably a rule was made after that draft, not that it benefited Philly much in the grand scheme of things. One could hope, as there will be no way we will win a draft lottery.
  13. I believe a healthy Hughs can get more points then any dman today with a right fit. Look at his ppg with frickin Schwan?? However winning a Norris and being considered top 3 is more than points. Give him a partner like Tanev and watch him flourish!....
  14. The Oilers have been proving for a few years you need above average goaltending to go on a run. Fortunately Colorado proved it only needs to actually be slightly above. Fortunately X2 we have a proven goalie that will soon get back to his normal self and this will be a mute point.
  15. Thanks and I agree now, he never turned out to be anything more then a second line dman at best. Not sure if that was injury related or not, but he was projected to be a modern day Fox, Heiskanen, dare I say Hughs? Type dman. So I can see why Bowman and the bitches were horney for him.
  16. Well if Aquaman puts his guard down, hopefully our scouts have done their homework. Were in make it or break it time, and could be one of the most important moves this club has ever seen. Oh should also be noted, we did get Mr. Linden back eventually to.
  17. Minus Sopal, Brashear we may have. The point was McCabe was a key component to get the deal done. Maybe Chicago was not interested in quality players, but heading south career wise. Maybe McCabe was the young stud Dman, and him or nothing? Moral of the story a massive unpopular trade at the time, with undoubtedly one of the top 3 players the organization ever had plus a few plugs gave us; Bertuzzi, Luongo, Hank n Danny. Not starting a debate of coulda, shoulda, woulda with other players. We will never know, but we do know what did work. Once again trades are a gamble...
  18. Trades are a gamble, some work some don't. Remember Linden to NYI for youngsters named Bertuzzi and McCabe? Without McCabe the Sedin draft deal unlikely would be done. Bert eventually turned into a Luongo deal... You just never know what the hockey gods have in store.
  19. With Petey once again getting attention outside of BC, the comparison to Datsyuk are getting hot. Id say he is our best bet for an trophy other then Stanley with a future Selke. Flip a coin with Demko- Vezna or Hughs- Norris. Obviously either 3 will not be within the next 2 or so years. So long as Bo keeps scoring there will be no complaints. Never heard a TBL fan bitch about Stamkos's defensive game.
  20. Hogs got a bit of top line munuets earlier with injuries. However once he made a few bad plays that all growing young players do, he got thrown to the 4th, or wearing a suit watching in the players box. Basically it's here's your chance on the top 6 to prove yourself for a game, if you don't, your back to square one. How can a young player learn and grow with either all the pressure on the top 2, or little to no playing time? I'm no player and development expert, but something tells me that is exactly what not to do.
  21. Never once implied that i'm for putting a bandage on and "tinkering" with this current team. Sometimes getting a generational pick is a Mckinnon, or a McDavid/Matthews. Its the whole team that gets the cup, not the one talent.
  22. Well they have the 2 best players in the world, and was released on Tuesday they have moved ahead of Vancouver as the 3rd most profitable NHL Canadian team. Just so you know before you keep dissing more successful organizations.
  23. I remember when Boston traded Ray Bourque to Colorado. Only difference is Ray meant way more to the Bruins organization the Bo does. Ray finally one a cup, and Boston reaped rewards after. Something for you to ponder.
