  1. Agreed. In so much that Bobby Lou had his best years with us, his proper place is on the ring of honour. I get that a franchise needs its heroes and needs to have some kind of legacy. Given the Sedins accomplishments in their career with us go's without saying; They got number retirement for those very accomplishments. That being said.......... At the risk of being slagged by the CDC populace, it has to be noted that not one of those names on the rafters, be they ROH or jersey # retirement, has won us a SC. Sure. Some of them had storied careers and had accolades up the ring yang. But do we really want to be reminded that we're only second best? Bridesmaids? LOSERS! Apologies. Go Canucks Go!
  2. I imagine it's hard for BoHo to consistently motivate this team when there's a losing culture lingering with this organization. A domino affect that permeates all involved and the lingering stink is hard to get rid of. Emotional attachments are part and partial to loving and supporting ones team. I must admit. I'm guilty of that to be sure. But something's gotta give. At this point it's my opinion that Petey is the only keeper.
  3. I'm a supporter of our Canucks, no doubt, but wow. Just wow. We've got the worst luck. Definitely some bad juju going' on. Time to sacrifice a couple of goats!
  4. IMHO, Bo is the definitive captain of this crew, bar none. I'm sure it was said somewhere in CDC, but when viewing that KB vid addressing the team in the locker room..... did you see Bo? Dude was transfixed on KB and totally took to heart everything he had to say. All good things ta' boot. Shoulda' signed BoHo before even thinking about extending JT. I like JT, but ya' gotta love an original Canuck. Bo's story continues with us I hope!
  5. I'm a Boeser fan. How can one not like this guy. He's kind, loyal, family values up the ying yang, and has a wicked shot. That being said........ I could be a dick and say, "Man up, dude! You're a professional hockey player in the NHL...." But honestly, grief takes as long as it's gonna take. Certainly in most cases, longer than a year. Is this a factor? Perhaps. Is he "fat" because of such? I dunno. He looks bulkier, but he's an athlete and works out in gyms. I think that's it, but the process of grieving does affect day to day life. I dunno. I'm flummoxed. He came off to me like the game breaking scoring winger we needed. Moments of brilliance to be sure, but sadly, inconsistent. Perhaps a change of scenery might do him good. Not necessarily closer to home, but a change nonetheless.
  6. I was happy that we signed him, but questioned doing so before it happened. I sure would've liked to know some of the offers that we got in the off season regarding JT. That being said......... .....Was there a possibility that JT woulda' been Naslund 2.0?!?!?!?? Is JT an 8mil dollar player on a SC contending team??? Worth the cap as a winger?!?!?!?! A centre!?!??!?!?These are questions I always asked when we signed him. It is of my opinion that money like this is payed to a game breaking offensively skilled player. Sure he had a 99 point season. A great show of contribution to our team to be sure. But is he overpaid? Not taking into account his age and such. Just what he brings to our team........Is he worth to us what we're paying him?
  7. Do modern NHL teams deliberately tank? I mean....is there anyway to make it NOT obvious? Well....Not to be a Debbie Downer, but our Canucks seem to be sincerely tanking! If that's the case, but I don't think so. We're just mired in cap hell! Things that the previous JB management and our present JR management did and did not do conspired to put us where we're at now. - Shoulda' traded JT Miller, not sign him. Yea, yea. I know. We coulda' lost him for nothing if we held on to him. But at least they coulda' taken the best trade available come this deadline. - Myer's.....same deal. unfortunately, still with us. Hmmm....trade deadline in a few months... - Pearson, Garland, Poolman.....as above. - OEL cannot be moved 'cuz of his contract. No one wants him except Benning! But if we could??????!?!?!?!?!? So...Keep OEL and Scehnnn for veteran D-core reasons. - Some of the recent acquisitions are okay for now. I like Bear, and the two Russians. - As for our young draft picks, keep Pods......trade Hoglander, I dunno...who else. There's so many factors affecting our season. And they've been discussed in CDC ad nauseam! The point I'm making, after going SOOOOOO far off topic is... .......A change in captaincy IMO, isn't gonna make a lick of difference.
  8. I'm of the opinion that the only ones questioning Bo's captaincy are those of us in CDC. Of course we're all in our right to voice our opinion. And here's mine. He is the captain. Period. I don't think anyone in that locker room questions that at all. And neither do I. Captains are usually heart 'n' soul peeps. Leaders command respect and do so by example or by taking charge. I believe Bo does all that for our team. Dude dawned the "A" a couple of years before becoming full Captain in '19. I would hate it if we traded him. We gotta sign him.
  9. I'm an old dude. The diminished testosterone in my temple has made me an emotional, whimpering man child I'm afraid. Movies that I could hold back tears in my youth....well........you can forget that now. I've turned into a blubbering embarrassment to my younger relatives. So with that said, I'd most likely break in tears of joy. An d celebrate with CDC! Go Canucks Go!
  10. As I previously mentioned.........."....It's all Black 'n' White...." Not quite team Stanley and not quite team Bedard. However, if we achieve either, then we can truly celebrate the lifting of the curse!!!!!! We can all be merry, fill our cups with honey meade, feast till we gorge ourselves, and dance in homage to the hockey gods!
  11. I had high hopes for Woo's success in our organization. I'm still hopeful, but it don't look good, huh. I had hoped for Juice 2.0 from him. Still time though, but he might be running out of it sooner rather than later. Get 'er done kid!!!!!!!!
  12. Me too! Whaddaya' know. I guess the previous trade for Studnicka that moved out DiPietro and a RD prospect in Myrenberg was a bit of foreshadowing regarding PA's efforts in acquiring RD Bear, huh. That being said......I'm down with this kid. We grant Mike his trade request and get the man we're after. A win, win? I'm ever hopeful. An insurance for Poolman's on and off medical issues I guess.
  13. At 6 in the morning???!?!?!?!?? Sorry...uncalled for. To each his own. But yea! Some love for our boys. I like it! Go Canucks Go!
  14. I'd be down with this, but no way the Wild do this. I'm sure we'd have to give up a prospect or a draft pick along with Boes.
  15. Man! I love CDC's PGT's. It's either, " WE WANT THE CUP!!!! " or " TANK NOW! " You know what I mean. It's all Black 'n' White. But that's how it is and that's how it's been. I'm used to it. Anywho......... Needless to say, the special teams play woulda' made a difference in the outcomes of our recent disaster of a road outing. I'm somewhat p#ssed at the schedule makers for the away game season openers, but I'm sure that's a poor excuse for our performance in 3rd period play in those games. A much said cliche, "It is what it is." Coach decision to move Miller to wing was much needed. Rathbone seemed to look more comfortable , and Brisebois was noticeable too. BoHo was pumped and on fire. There's no doubt in my mind of his leadership on this team. Jeez.....no games till Tuesday. I look forward to good times in Canucks Nation. Go Canucks Go!
  16. If that's truly the case, then I say don't bother. Perhaps we may have a gem of a RD coming up in a couple of seasons or so. I'm not holding my breath, but one can always hope.
  17. Country club atmosphere?!?!?!?!?!? What exactly is that regarding locker room behaviour and such to an NHL hockey team? If you're referring to Sedin era players, they're all gone except Brock and Bo. Everyone else from that 2018 team is no longer with us. (except the young guys; Demmer, and old guy, Sutter?) I get yer meaning though. Some have been around too long. BoHo, Pearson, BB....Miller, Myers....I'm all good with these guys. But if we're to do a rebuild and get prospects and drafts in return for such, I'd be down with any of those guys. Throw in Hogs, Garland, Poolman into the mix. Can't hurt. I'd say keep Demmer. We've got him for awhile on a cap friendly contract. The other keepers to me would be EP40, Quinn, Pods, maybe Kus and Schenn. Kuz 'cuz I like what I see, and Schenn for veteran leadership. Did I miss anybody?!?!?!?!??
  18. What a waster of data!!!!!!!!
  19. Yeah. I believe we'll turn things around. It's still early in there season. Lotsa' time. Uhmmmm........ I don't expect them to go on a double digit winning streak anytime soon. But I'm confident that our 'Nucks will get 'er going.
  20. I bleed Canuck's blood. I'll put up with a rebuild for sure. However, they should've done it when TL was prez and instructed ownership to go the rebuild route. Well.....such is life in Canuckdom!
  21. OMFG!!!!!! What a bunch of whiners. I myself a passionate Canucks fan to be sure. Truth be told....yea...I am somewhat perturbed, vexed, with a touch of melancholy thrown in regarding these past first few games. However, being the half glass full type, It's early. Give 'em time to gel. Slow starts? Seems to not be a problem as last season. PK? A work in progress. 3rd period performance? I dunno.........Early season rust? Fatigue? Exhaustion?Well.... Let's hope they work things out. Ummm....erm.............Like.....I think I just had a deja vu moment....Anyone else?
  22. Two rookie GM's in a row, an old guard President, and a meddling Owner...............Hmmmmmm............ I agree with the comments of Trevor Linden's vision for the team when he was Prez. It's too bad no one listed to him. Yea.....It's Conner Bedard or bust time!
