  1. For me it’s a very tough choice between Bure and Lafleur. My heart says Bure but my head believes it to be Lafleur. 3 Art Ross, 3 Lester Pearson and 2 Hart Trophies are hard to argue with. Sorry team, I’m going with The Flower.
  2. Thanks for posting this! I always prefer a live version so I can watch musicians doing what they love.
  3. No kidding. Imagine if Point’s knee swells up from that shot he took and he can’t go next game. Meanwhile Vasilevsky pulls a groin early in the first period and he’s out for the series and Habs win game 5. Suddenly Montreal has all the momentum and who knows what happens. Nobody is dumb enough to hope to lose.
  4. I think that even WSA would agree that overall it was just a civil conversation about different ways of looking at rumours.
  5. You’d think by now that the hare would have learned his lesson. No time to stop to flex and risk losing to the tortoise.
  6. … like this woman from Missouri. A Missouri woman who refused to get a COVID-19 vaccine because she was afraid of its side effects died in hospital last month after contracting the Delta variant, her mother told local news outlets. Tricia Jones, a 45-year-old mother of two from Kansas City, died on June 9 after a month in hospital on a ventilator. Her mother, Deborah Carmichael, told local media that Jones was concerned about the vaccine after hearing "a lot of horror stories."
  7. Of course it could be true or it could be false, I agree with you. But you keep using the word reporter. Having a Twitter or YouTube account or a podcast does not make you a reporter. That’s like calling Steve Dangle a reporter. Using the term implies that they have some sort of ethical standard to adhere to. They don’t. It’s just clicks, that’s it. Having a GM or agent or player responding to one of these people actually gives them more credence than they deserve and will increase their view totals. If one of the respected sports journalists reports this story perhaps it would garner a response from the team or agent. The rumor still has legs because it’s the middle of summer with little to talk about until the protection lists come out and the expansion draft.
  8. Again, I’m not sure I understand your point of view here. You are here in this thread supporting the rumor and implying that it is likely true because Schmidt or his agent hasn’t come out to deny it. Your waking minutes are every bit as responsible for making what the media say relevant as any other poster here. You’re just the opposite side of the same coin as anybody else in giving this tweet life. How many rumours have you seen players take time off from their summer vacations to respond to? I have seen almost nothing from any Canuck about anything nor would I expect to. I would think they have had more than their fill of answering to the media by season’s end. The next time there is a JB press conference I’m sure he’ll respond to this if he’s asked, but then again whether you choose to believe his answer will be up to you.
  9. China is about to move in and fill the void. Sorry, this link was not behind a paywall the first time I visited the site but seems to be now.
  10. Do you enjoy scary movies? What movies have you seen that you enjoyed but took a while to shake? I would love to hear some of your more offbeat or lesser-known ones as well. I’ll start off with a jump-scare short that got the hair on the back of my standing.
  11. Loved this version almost as much as the original by Slade, with which we also irritated the neighbors on occasion. A buddy and I rented our first house after moving away from home and it turned into a bit of a party house, (loud but somewhat respectable.) I now understand why people don’t want to rent to teenagers. Here’s another that needs to be played at eleven.
  12. On that we can agree. In exactly the same way that if he doesn’t get traded some will still insist it was true because it doesn’t fit their narrative.
  13. Whether there is any truth to this or not remains to be seen. This old rumor was re-ignited by a tweet from David Pagnotta from Toronto. I like to think that even you would agree that having a Twitter or YouTube account does not make you a reporter. A reporter relies on the authenticity of what he reports to establish his credibility and enhance reader/viewer trust. Twitter is clicks, likes and controversy so he got exactly what he wanted from his tweet without adding a single new fact to the story. If this hadn’t happened in the middle of summer with next to no new news to talk about it would have withered on the vine soon after his tweet.
