  1. I came across this song when a good friend was going through a very rough patch. It was hard to hear but I the same time it gave me hope that things might turn around.
  2. Oh, I just wondered because I do agree with that thought. Also with this last part from your response to @Devron44 Personally I don’t put any posters on ignore but I do ignore some posters, specifically extremists on either side of the argument. Most of us do not think Benning is perfect, many of us would be accepting of whichever way FA went on this. Just because we disagree with specific criticism doesn’t mean we are blind supporters. “ People can be Benning supporters or detractors and still be objective and realistic about common sense things. There are a lot of them on here actually. The equally annoying extremes of fanboys and haters overshadows them as they are both the loudest and most annoying elements on cdc.”
  3. Is this the song Joe? You’re right, it is beautiful and touching!
  4. Why do you say my responses show that I don’t think they should apply equally?
  5. Actually you’re the one who linked the two scenarios together and asked if it was fair. You saying that anyone who doesn’t see it the way you do “simply doesn’t want to” is self-serving. I see very little difference, if any. Hockey wives know they are opening themselves up to criticism when they post hockey related things on their Instagram accounts. Tryamkin did make comments that included his wife and their feelings about Vancouver when he left the city the first time. That doesn’t justify attacks on them. Criticizing Jim on a hockey forum or sports radio is fair game but the banner was an attempt to take it beyond the hockey world by gaining as much publicity as possible. Both hockey fans & the owner have heard all the complaints already so it was clear that the only goal was to cause embarrassment to him, and by extension his family. The rather pathetic fire Benning rally the day after the press conference confirming that JB and Green would be back and had the full backing of FA was another pointless example that they were more interested in their own opinions than the reality of the situation. Once the decision was made by ownership it was time to stop re-hashing all the same criticisms (some valid, some not) and start supporting the team again. At least have a truce until there was something new to complain about like “why did he draft so and so” or “are you kidding me with that signing?” Doesn’t seem like a lot to ask from actual fans of the team.
  6. Reaves always has been, always will be an obnoxious puke with no class. He makes it very easy to hate Vegas when you see that smarmy grin mouthing off to the Minny bench.
  7. Totally disagree. The people who blamed Gaudette’s and Tryamkin’s wives felt it had everything to do with their husband’s jobs. Flying the banner was just a public display to show disapproval, exactly the same as the people who posted about the actions of the two wives. All three were amounted to public shaming to try to further their points of view and all three were hurtful to their families.
  8. I happen to agree with you to a point...I didn’t care for people attacking Gadette’s wife, I don’t care for the attitude that there is something wrong with Tryamkin putting his and wife’s interest first. And I don’t like people flying that banner because Jim cares about his family as well. Why do you find something wrong with the first two but not the latter? All three are free speech but that doesn’t make them right.
  9. The people ragging on Gaudette’s wife were either ignored or rebutted and no one rounded up money to fly a banner denouncing her nor did they call for public protests. I saw one post bitching about Tryamkin’s wife today. No one picked it up and ran it through a megaphone to try and encourage mob mentality.
  10. Uhh, I don’t think you’re in Kansas anymore Toto.
  11. Yeah I could have clarified that a bit better. I’m fine with Miller at center short term. If/when we have cap I hope we target a more offensive center and put Miller back on the wing. I feel fairly sure that we’ll grab a center or RHD this draft so while we wait someone like Dickinson would be a good fit at 4 or if he plays well move him to 3 and Miller back to the wing.
  12. In his comments regarding the assistants he answered separately on Clark and the others. He said that he wants him back and thinks he’ll get something worked out. On the others he said he’ll be reviewing them with Green and then make offers after that. Trying to read between the lines it sounds like it is going to be largely up to Green who returns.
  13. I like the trio of Petey, Miller and Horvat for the top three and would be looking to poach someone with entry draft protection issues like Jason Dickinson in Dallas or Andrew Copp in Winnipeg. Both have good size and decent skating with a little bit of offensive upside. The downside is both will be RFA and Copp could get pricey so Dickinson would be my first choice.
  14. I’m disappointed that people think he needs to labelled homophobic to get the the axe. IMO he should have been fired for his hatchet job on Burrows rather than letting him portray himself as a weakass victim of cancel culture.
  15. Okay I admit I might be a bit of a fossil but in what world can anyone justify over $900 in fees for “applicable service, delivery and transactional fees” for two tickets? Ticket prices are one thing but those fees are idiotic!
  16. I posted this somewhere else previously, probably in the Eichel thread, and Monahan’s stats compare quite favourably. I don’t see it happening but I’d be interested in Monahan before Eichel, specially with his back issues.
  17. They have 15 UFA & RFA to sign with only $22 mil to do it. It’ll take an MVP off-season by Holland to improve the team. UFAs are Nuge, Larsson, Barrie, Chiasson, Smith. RFAs are Khaira, Yamamoto, Shore, and Kahun.
  18. I expected Smith to crap the bed tonight but he played really well. There was a lot of complaining about the reffing and game management over there as well.
