One the lines from FA’s letter that interests me is “As owners, we remain committed to providing Jim and his management team with the full resources they need to take the Canucks to the next level.” I’ll be curious to see if that is demonstrated in any meaningful way this off-season such as buyouts, Clark, team president, signings, etc.

There are better audio versions of this but here you get to watch Clapton, Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce.

[Report] Canucks sign Travis Green to contract extension

I wanted Benning to return. I wanted a President of Hockey Ops with experience to be hired. I wanted Green to return. I wanted Clark to return. I wanted Brown to be replaced. I wanted Baumgartner to be replaced. I also realize that I am entitled to none of this. Whether any or all of these things happen I will be back to cheer on my team next year. There is lots to like here and much work to be done. I refuse to lose my mind over things that I have no control over. ...and I want to win the lottery (draft) thanks @DontMessMe -

I don’t disagree Bree but as a pro I’m sure his attitude is “if you want my job, come and take it from me.” I don’t mind him back in a more limited role, maybe take some minutes when his replacement struggles or when injuries hit the club. -
That was a pretty nice gift to himself and us yesterday. 22 years old with only a couple of games under his belt and he had 21:17 minutes ice time (3rd most on D) and was the only d’man with +/- of zero. Lots to be excited about with this young man.

That’s a really good point to bring up. In all the “mismanagement” threads people forget how well the Canucks have treated their unsigned prospects, particularly the kids in university/college. Like Demko, many have spoken about their appreciation for this.

I was totally gutted that day on hearing the news.
